Note: You will need to choose a location within the file system of the server that can be shared among all registered users of this metadata server. Every user of this metadata server must be able to both read from and write to this directory. This directory must be large enough to store the metadata for all users and studies.

Navigate to the file location that you have chosen. Remember this location must be accessible to all SAS users that were defined in “Step 3: Defining SAS Metadata Users,” p. 6. Select or create the desired directory.

When the path is selected, click OK.

Click Advanced Options on the New Library Wizard dialog.

Check the Library is Pre-Assigned check box.

Select the Pre-Assignment Type to By metadata library engine using the drop-down menu.

Enter a profile name, the server name, and your user ID. You must include domains as needed.

Note: The default port is 8561. This might have been changed during installation of the metadata server. You should consult the Instructions document generated during the metadata server installation for the specified port. On Windows servers, the default location of this document is C:\SAS\Con-fig\Lev1\Documents\Instructions.html. On UNIX servers, the default location of this document is \SASRoot\Config\Lev1\Documents\Instructions.html, where SASRoot is the location of the SAS instal-lation.

Click Run to add the server.

Click File>SAS Server Profiles>Select Profile to connect to the server just added.
