Instruction for KITETM Practice Tests

Step 1: Click on the KITE icon. This will open the first screen. (If you do not yet have KITE on your machine, go to ksassesments.org. The right hand side of the home page contains links for downloading KITE to a Mac or Windows computer and instructions for loading accessing KITE on an iPad.)

Step 2: On the first screen, choose “Other Assessments.” This will open the sign-in screen.

Step 3: Type in the provided Username and Password into the login windows. Then click the “Sign-in” arrow. This will open the next screen.

Step 4: The next screen contains two options; “Take a Test” and “Practice Tests”. Choose Practice Tests. This will open a screen with a list of available practice tests.

Step 5: Click on the practice test that you would like to try (there is one for ELA and one for math for each grade span and subject.) This will open the Instructions Page for the Practice Test.

Step 6: When you have read the instructions. Click Begin at the bottom of the page to open the first question in the Practice Test.

Continue with the activities, navigating using the back and next buttons. Each assessment contains an example of each type of technology-enhanced item a student in that grade span will encounter on the summative assessment. The ELA practice test is approximately 7 items long, and the math practice test has 12–14 items.
