INTRODUCTION

Universiti Teknologi MARA Institutional Repository (UiTM IR) is a center of digital collections, act as an

open-access repository that collects, preserve and disseminates scholarly output by university

members at Universiti Teknologi MARA (journal articles, book chapters, books, conference papers,

theses, working papers, technical reports, data and other types of research publications and also

unpublished manuscripts and papers).

MANUAL GUIDE INSTITUTIONAL REPOSITORY UiTM

• Go to http://ir.uitm.edu.my/

• This is the main page of Institutional Repository UiTM. • There are 8 menu button which are Home, About, Latest Edition, Browse By, Statistics, Policies, Ranking, UiTM

Journals. • There are search bar at the right side of the page and at the center of the page consist of repository search that

can filter the search by Article, Monograph, Books, Image, Video, Conference or Workshop Item, Thesis, Teaching Resource and Other.

• Click at the About menu to get information on institutional repository portal.

• Click at the Latest Addition at the menu bar. It will show the latest reference in additional page of institutional repository. All reference will be update daily in the website.

• Click at the Browse By. • User can browse the resources by categories such as Year, Subject, Division, Author, Document Types,

Publication Title, Type of Thesis, Type of Monograph, and Language.

• Click at the Year to find the references sorted by year.

• Click at the Subject to find the journal or article resources sorted by subject.

Guide 6

• Click at the Division to find the journal or article resources sorted by division and year. • In this division page, all the journal or article resources are divided by UiTM Campuses and faculties.

• Still in the Browse By page, click at the Author to find the articles by author that sorted by alphabets.

• Click at the Document Types to find the journal articles or other resources sorted by document type such as Articles, Book Section, Monograph, Book Thesis, and many more.

• After the user click at one of the type, the page will show the listing of year that easy for user to find the document by year.

• Click at the Publication Title to find the article journal sorted by publication such as Journal of Academia, Asian Journal of University Education, and many more.

• Click at the Type of Thesis to find the student thesis sorted by level of studies such as Degree, Diploma, Masters, PHD, and Other.

• After the user choose which type level of studies they want, the page will show the list of year that easy for user to find the thesis by years.

• Click at the Types of Monograph to find the resources such as Abstract, Annual Report, Bulletin, Industrial/Practical Training Report, Manual, Sabbatical Report, and others.

• Click at one of the category, the page will show the years and user can choose which year they want to find.

• The user also can download and view the preview of the sources from what they found.

• Click at the Language button to find the references sorted by language such as Arabic, English, Scots Gaelic, Indonesian, and Malay.

• Click at the Statistics to view the repository statistic by Downloads, Activity Overview, Top Viewed Authors and many more.

• Click at the Policies to view the repository policies. There are many type of policies such as Metadata Policy, Data Policy, Content Policy, Submission Policy, and Preservation Policy.

• Click at the Ranking to view the Ranking Web of Repositories.
