20

Scientific Excellence:

• The scientific excellence will be one of the leading criteria in the evaluation of proposals for CoE.

• The world level is the only basis for ranking of scientific achievements in academic community.

• There are commonly accepted measurable indicators for evaluation of scientific publications, including the particular weight of Top 10% journals.

Page 21: Institute of Information and Communication Technologies ...iict.bas.bg/acomin/docs/wp6/IICT-future developments-AComIn-Jan-2016.pdf- 18 R&D contracts directly with industrial enterprise,

• Our policy is concerned with a sustainable upgrade of the existing HPC infrastructure of IICT.

• The development of the HPC systems is aligned with the concepts of ETP4HPC: European Technology Platform for High-Performance Computing – Achieving HPC leadership in Europe.

• The performance of such systems positions Bulgaria as an HPC leader in

Advanced Research Advanced Research IInfrastructurenfrastructure

21

• The performance of such systems positions Bulgaria as an HPC leader in South-Eastern Europe.

• The currently established HPC cluster consists of 150 computational servers HP SL250s Gen8, equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2650v2 CPUs and two Intel Xeon Phi 7120P coprocessors, 64GB RAM, two 500 GB hard drives, interconnected with non-blocking FDR Infiniband running at 56 Gbps line speed. The peak performance of the system is estimated at 410.82 Teraflops in double precision.
