Installing Windows Server 2008 is rett& straight"orward and is ver& $u!h like installing WindowsVista# %ut I thought I)d list the ne!essar& stes here "or additional in"or$ation( *or those o" &ou who

have never installed Vista %e"ore# the entire installation ro!ess is di""erent than it used to %e in

revious Mi!roso"t oerating s&ste$s# and nota%l& $u!h easier to er"or$(

NOTE: Windows Server 2008 !an also %e installed as a Server +ore installation# whi!h is a !ut,down

version o" Windows without the Windows E'lorer -.I( /e!ause &ou dont have the Windows

E'lorer to rovide the -.I inter"a!e that &ou are used to# &ou !on"igure ever&thing through the

!o$$and line inter"a!e or re$otel& using a Mi!roso"t Manage$ent +onsole 1MM+(

The installation now %egins# and &ou !an go and have lun!h( +o&ing the setu "iles "ro$ the 3V3 to

the hard drive onl& takes a%out one $inute( 5owever# e'tra!ting and un,!o$ressing the "iles takes a

good deal longer( A"ter 20 $inutes# the oerating s&ste$ is installed( The e'a!t ti$e it takes to install

server !ore deends uon &our hardware se!i"i!ations(
