BLANCCO – WAN SERVER REQUIREMENTS

Hardware Desktop, laptop, or server machine, with these minimum hardware requirements:

• CPU 500 MHz • RAM 256 Mb • HDD 5Gb • CD-Rom drive • Network card • USB port(s)

Software There are no software requirements for the CD version of Blancco – WAN Server (BWS). For the package installation version, a Linux operation system (Fedora 6 or CentOS 4) is required. The BWS bootable installation CD-Rom will automatically install the operating system (CentOS Linux distribution) and the other required software applications. Therefore, a computer with an empty hard drive is enough to perform the installation.

Client-side

• A computer that meets Blancco client requirements (Asset Management, Lite, Data Cleaner+, Pro)

• A network card with PXE (Pre-Boot Execution Environment) support (optional)

PRESENTATION There are two different installation options:

• CD-Rom version (*.iso image to be burned CD-R or CD-RW) • Package installation version (Fedora 6 or CentOS 4 required)

INSTALLATION There are several steps in the installation process. Some of the steps described below are optional and might be skipped if your installation was previously configured with predefined values.

INSTALLATION WITH BWS CD-ROM VERSION

1. Boot from BWS installation CD-Rom Connect the machine to the network. Although a network connection is not required for the installation, it will be configured after rebooting. Make sure your BIOS settings are configured to boot with CD-Rom drive first. Insert the BWS installation CD and turn on the computer.
