CD This kit includes a Dry Filter. DO NOT APPLY ANY OIL TO THIS FILTER! See step 5 for cleaning instructions.

Read and understand these instructions BEFORE attempting to install th is product.

1) Getting Started

a) Make sure vehicle is parked on a level surface. b) Set parking brake. c) Disconnect negative battery terminal. d) If engine has run within the past two hours let it cool down.

2) Removing the stock air intake system

a) Your factory air intake system should look like this.

b) Remove the engine cover by lifting it straight up.

g) Remove the air in let hose from the engine bay. Note: Pull up on the assembly to disengage from the rubber grommet under the resonator.

h) Detach the valve cover breather hose from the air box.

I) Detach the air inlet duct from the rubber edge trim .

j) Lift and remove the air box from the engine bay. Note: There may be a wiring harness clip on the air box, be sure to unclip before removing the air box.

3) Installing the MOPAR Cold Air Intake

a) When installing the MOPAR Cold Air Intake System, DO NOT completely tighten the hose clamps or mounting tab hardware until instructed to do so later in these instructions. Check to see that the inside of the inlet pipes and air filter are clean and free from any foreign objects and/or obstructions.

b) Remove the 2 rubber grommets from the bottom of the air box.

c) Insert the 2 grommets from step 3b) into the bottom of the heat shield as shown.

d) Insta ll the supplied thin rubber trim around the ci rcular opening and the thick rubber trim on top of the heat sh ield as shown.

e) Install the supplied heat shield br acl~et to the co re support with tile M6 bolt removed in step 2 m). Do not completely tighten the boll at this ti me.

I) Line up !11e ~J rommet s to the two studs in th e inner fende1· and push tile heat shield 1 in to place . Install th e suppl ied 0.75'· 10 grommet and the straight fit ting 1nto the heal shield . The larger barbed end goes on the outside of the heat sh ield .

g) Place the power steering fluid reservoir tab over the MOPAR heat shield bracket and reinstall the factory M8 bolt removed in step 2k) .

i) Place the windshield washer reservoir back in its place and reinstall the plastic cl ip removed in step 21).

h) Attach the heat shield to the bracket installed in step 3e) with supplied M6 bolts .

j) Remove the rubber grommet from the air injection pump mounting bracket. Do not discard the grommet.

k) Unscrew the plastic standoff that secures the eng ine cover to the passenger side valve cover. Save the piece for later use. Note: Some vehicles may not have this standoff. Sk ip this step if standoff is not there.

m) Install the supplied rubber grommet into til e MOPAR Throttle Body air intake tube.

I) Loosen , but clo not completely r·e rn ove the M6 bolt on the passenger side valve cover.

n) Twisl and remove the IAT sensor from the factory ai r· inlet hose th en remove til e 0 -ring from the sensor. Do not di scard the 0-r ing.

o) Insert the IAT sensor into the grommet as shown. Note: the orientation of the IAT sensor probe inside the tube does not affect performance.

q) Install the intake tube assembly from step 3p) to the throttle body but do not fully tighten the hose clamps at th is time.

p) Install the supplied 3.25" ID elbow hose on the Throttle Body intake tube along with 2 #52 hose clamps. Note: The end with slightly larger opening goes on the tube. Be sure the short side radius is in-line with lAT.

r) Align the support bracket on the MOPAR throttle body intake tube to the valve cover bolt loosened previously and tighten the bolt slightly. Do not fully tighten the bolt unt il ideal tube alignment is achieved.

s) Insta ll the supplied 3.5" to 3.25" hump hose on th e MOPAR Air Filter tube along with 1 #52 and 1 #56 hose clamp. Note: The 3.5" end of the hump hose goes on the straight tube.

u) Place the supplied spacer on th e air injection pump mounting bracket and add washers if necessary. See step v) .

t) Place th e tube thr·ough the heat sl1ield and attach tile MOPAR Air Fi ll er tube to the thrott le body tube. Check the clearance between the tube and AC line .

v) Attach the intake tube support b r· acl~et to the l air inj ection pump bracket with the supplied M8 bo lt , wasl1 er and nut as sl1own. Do not I completely ti gl1ten the hardware at this time. ·oue to manufacturi ng to lera nces it may be ! necessary to add 1 or 2 M8 washers to raise up the intake tube to clear AC lin e.

z) Attach the MOPAR air filter to the air intake tube and slightly tighten the hose cl amp.

ac) Install tile suppli ed tv1 6 stud into the th readed boss on the intake tube then install the plastic standoff removed in step 3k) on tile stud . The plastic standoff will hold the engine cover Wil en it is reinstall ed.

ab) Connect th e IAT sensor harness to the.iAT ] sensor on the tv10PA R thro ttle body tube.

--·---ad) It your vehicle docs not have the plas ti c standoff as shown in step 31<) do not ins tall the tv16 stud . instead assemble t11e supplied tv16 x 50mm socket head bo lt and the MG he x nut as shown .

ae) Installed the nut/bolt assembly into the threaded boss on the intake tube. Adjust the bolt and lock nut so the top of the bolt head is about 1 o/4" from the threaded boss. Note: This bolt will support the front end of the engine cover so re-adjustment may be necessary.

j:: :-; :.(JT ~ i:: .~~J~.~;~JJ~f;:~=;:-::r,:{':~~ ag) With a suitable cutting tool such as a sharp blade or hack saw, cut the engine cover along the line as shown . After the cut is made, trim off the excess foam insulator up to the cut line.

af) Before the engine cover is re-installed cutting is required on the passenger side of the cover to gain clearance for the intake tube . First locate the line at which the cut will be made on the underside of the engine cover.

ah) The engine cover should look as shown after its cut. The engine cover can then be re installed.

3) Re-Assemble the vehicle. a) Inspect the engine bay for any loose tools and check that all fasteners that were moved or removed are

properly tight. b) Re-check clearance for all hoses especially the AC line under the intake tube. If clearance is too tight

or hard contact is present please refer to step 3v) to adjust the tube placement. Tighten all hoses clamps.

c) Reconnect negative battery terminal. d) Start engine. Let car idle for 3 minutes. Perform a final inspection before driving the vehicle.

4) Dry Filter cleaning procedure (It is recommended that you service your MOPAR air filter every 20,000 miles for optimum performance.)

a) Remove filter from intake pipe and set the filter clamp aside. b) Measure the length of the filter media. c) Fill a pail with warm clean water to the depth determined in Step b. Add a mild household detergent to the

water. d) Without allowing the solution to flow into the filter neck, submerge the filter into the water and let it soak for

10 minutes. After soaking, rotate the filter back and forth to agitate the water and knock off dirt. e) Empty the bucket of dirty water. Repeat steps C and D. f) Refill the pail with clean warm water and rinse by rotating the filter as in step D. The water should be clear

with no signs of dirt in the pail. g) Allow the filter to air dry. DO NOT APPLY ANY OIL TO THIS FILTER. Re-install the filter on the intake

system once it is dry.
