THIS UNIT MUST BE INSTALLED BY A LICENSED PLUMBER TO VALIDATE THE WARRANTY.

Installation 1. Consultandfollowallapplicablestateandlocalplumbingcodes.

2. TurnoffallequipmenttobefedbythePP-AS20.

3. LocateWatersupplyshutoffvalveandturnoff.

4. Locatesuitablelocationforinstallation.

5. Mountunittowallwithincludedmountingbracket.(Ensurewallmaterialisstableenoughformountingpurposes.)

6. Runasuitablelinefromtheincomingcoldwaterlinetotheinlet(left)sideoftheleftsideoftheProductPreserverssystem. NOTE: Do not over tighten connection fittings. Do not use pipe dope. Do not use more than seven layers of plumber’s tape.

7. Abypasslineisrecommendedtobeinstalled.(Notincluded)

8. SelectasuitablesizetubingtorunfromtheProductPreserversoutlettothetanklesswaterheater.Adrainvalve(notincluded)isrecommendedtobeinstalledafterthefilterforflushingandfiltercartridgechanges. NOTE: If not installing a drain valve, do not connect the tubing to the tankless water heater at this time. This line will be used to flush the system.

9. Oncesystemisinstalledslowlyapplypressurebyslightlyopeningfeedwatervalve. Ifdrainvalveisinstalled,openvalvetopurgeanyairthatisintheline.

10. Aftersystemhasfullypressurizedinspectforanyleaks.

11.Flushsystembyopeningdrainlinevalve.Ifnovalvewasinstalled,flushBEFOREconnectinglinetothetanklesswaterheater.Flushfor2minutes.

12. Ifthereisnotapressurereliefvalveinstalledonthetanklesswaterheaterhotwateroutlet,installabrassteeonthetanklessoutlet.Installapressurereliefvalvetoonesideofthetee.Connectthehotwaterlinetotheothersideofthetee.

13. Noteinstallationdateforreplacementelementscheduling.Changethefiltercartridgeatleastonceeverytwoyears.

Installation BasicwithBypassLoopandOptionalPP-PRE-AS20Pre-Filter

Important:Do not over tighten fittings as this may cause leakage and broken fittings. Do NOT use pipe dope. The use of pipe dope voids the warranty. You may use plumber’s tape. Leave two-three threads exposed and do not exceed seven layers of plumber’s tape. More than seven layers will cause the nipple to crack and leak.

2. Ifbypasslineisinstalled,bypasssystemduringfilterchange.Openbypassvalve,closeunitinletvalve,andcloseunitoutletvalve.Figure A

3. Ifnobypasslineisinstalled,turnofffeedwater.

4. Releasepressuretosystembypressingredbutton ontopofunit.Figure B

5. Unscrewhousingsumpusingincludedwrenchifnecessary.Figure C

6. Discardoldcartridge.Retainspacer.Figure D

7. Insertnewcartridgeintosump.Re-usethespacerthatwasincludedwiththeoriginalunit.Figure D

8. InspectO-ringforanydamageandreplaceifnecessary.Figure E

9. Re-installfilterhousingsump.HANDTIGHTENONLY.

10. Pressurizesystembyslightlyopeningfeedvalve.Oncepressurized,openvalvefully.Inspectsealsforanyleaks.Ifthereisaleak,youmaytightenthesumpslightlymorewiththewrench.

11. Flushsystemfor2minuteswithdrainvalveopen.Ifnodrainvalveisinstalleddisconnectfromequipmentforflushcycle.

12. Turnonallequipmentconnectedtosystem.

13. Recordfilterchangedateforreplacementelementscheduling.
