GENERAL INFORMATIONThank you for choosing Stein Bathroomware. When you receive your Amber shower package please check for any damage. If damage has occurred advise your supplier immediately and do not proceed with installation.

SAFETY GUIDE• The glass requires two people to handle.• Always stand glass up after unpacking the components and use soft packing when in contact with

hard surfaces. Take care not to strike an edge or corner on a hard surface.• All glass is toughened and cannot be reworked or drilled.• Wear protective gloves and eye protection.• Special care should be taken when drilling walls to avoid hidden pipes or electrical cables

OTHER APPLICATIONS:

1. Use the table below to establish the A and B measurement range for the outer line of the wall channels.

2. Measurements are based on the floor being level, walls plumb and all surfaces flat. Any variations must be taken into account when marking out the position within the minimum to maximum range.

ACRYLIC TRAY APPLICATION:

1. To set out the shower mark out the outside line of the return and door set wall channels 22mm in from the outside of the tray

2. This will allow approximately 5mm variation for walls out of plumb. If more allowance is needed reduce the set out off the edge of the acrylic tray. Equalise door and return panel positions off the tray edge.

Applies to 900, 1000 and 1200 sizes with tile base and acrylic base applications.

THIS IS A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF HOW TO SET UP A DOOR ASSEMBLY ONLY. This runs in conjunction with the general instruction sheet. All other installation steps can be now followed in the general instructions eliminating the return panel details that do not apply.

The following table covers the door size with the minimum and maximum range. Care must be taken if using the minimum or maximum measurements as discrepancies in the walls or base may not allow for this.

Solid fixing must be provided in the walls behind the wall channels. Refer to the Layout Plan (Page 4) to establish your shower type.

To ensure a successful result the walls must be plumb and the floor flat and level.

Contract a plumber to ensure waste fitting is correctly installed.

To install acrylic tray and liner, please refer to separate installation instructions with packaged with the product.

Wall and floor surfaces must be waterproofed by a Certified Applicator and a Producer Statement provided for the local council.

All tiling must be completed and allowed to cure before installing the shower enclosure.

TILING NOTE: When installing the Amber Shower on to a tiled wall some local authorities do not allow wall channels to be fixed by screwing through tiles. In this instance use BOSTIK V60 to fix the wall channels to the tiles. You must leave the wall channel to set for the minimum time required as instructed on the BOSTIK cartridge before installing glass.

AMBER SHOWER UNIT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Go to the layout Plan on page 3 and Identify the category and size of shower you are installing. Find the applicable measurements and guidance notes that apply in your case.

Using a soft pencil or masking tape mark out the outside boundary line on the base and up the walls with a spirit level. Use the wall channel holes to pre-drill a lead hole in the lining (refer Diagram A1).

Apply a bead of silicone down the back of the channels (1) and (2) and fix in place with screws (8) checking that they remain plumb (refer Diagram A2).

Slide Fixed Return Panel (3) and Door Assembly (4) into Wall Channel (1).

Hint: Insert the top or bottom corner of the panel into the channel first. Then the rest of the panel will slide into the channel easier.

TILING NOTE: If tiling the shower area, re-drill holes in the wall channel to line up with the grout lines in the tiles and pre-drill the tiles at this point. In some instances a diamond bit will be required.

Slide the Fixed Return Panel (3) over the extrusion on to the Front Door Assembly (4) at the leading corner. Ensure this is aligned correctly then drilled and screwed.

Using the sliding rails within the Front Door Assembly adjust them (in or out) to have both the Fixed Return Panel and Front Door Panel positioned on the boundary line. They should be positioned evenly between both wall channels.

Drill and fasten off the bottom rail on the inside (Diagram D1). Using a level ensure the front assembly and return panel are plumb vertically at the corner junction and drill and fasten the top rail (Diagram D2).

Drill four equally spaced 3.2mm holes into the wall channels (1) and (2) on the INSIDE of the screen.

Make sure that your drill holes are more than 20mm back from the glass edge when using the smallest screen size. Otherwise you risk breaking the glass.

Make sure that all the holes go though both the aluminium of the fixed side panel and the door front assembly. Fix off wall channels (1) and (2) to fixed side panels (3) and (4) using the fixed panel screws (6) and covering them with screw caps (7).

DIAGRAM E:

Handle Assembly: Screw the threaded rod into the handle.

Slide top post on to the the threaded rod, making sure the post is facing the right way.

Put standard screw into cap base, then into washer, then into lower hole in the glass. On the other side of the glass, slide lower post onto the standard screw making sure the post faces the right way.

Bring the handle up to the glass allowing the top post to locate into the hole in the glass. Fix the knob onto the threaded rod making sure the washer is between the glass and the knob.

Line up the hole in the handle with the standard screw and post assembly. Screw tightly together.

Place cap over base.

Apply silicone sealer around all external joints of shower screen a minimum of 24 hours for silicone to set.

Silicone is not used on the inside of the shower screen because water can build up over time within the wall channel and leak out of the shower area. The screen is designed to allow the water to return into the shower area, if any is present. SCREENS THAT ARE SEALED ON THE INSIDE WILL VOID WARRANTY.
