9. VEHICLE PREPARATION:

1) Vehicle Preparationa) Record customer radio presets.

b) Apply parking brake.c) Turn off the ignition.d) Disconnect battery negative terminal.

NOTE:

2) Remove the following interior parts as shown. Refer to the vehicle service manual.

10. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1)

● Use only a 9/32" drill to avoid damage to Cupholder. Holes larger than 9/32" will not retainLEDs.

● Use a drill stop to avoid damage to the Cupholder.

NOTE:

2) Prepare cupholder for LEDs.

c) Mark and drill (2) 9/32" holes.

For cars without heated seat, tape template (B) to cupholder.

For cars with heated seat, align top of template (C) to cupholder and tape template to cupholder.


Remove (4) Phillips screws attaching cup holder.

CAUTION

THIS VEHICLE COMES WITH HEATED AND NON-HEATED SEATS. PLEAsE READ BEFORE DRILLING.

b) Mark and drill (1) 5/16" hole.

5) Install encoder.

b) Install 11mm lock nut and knob.

Peel double-sided tape liner and place each cupholder ligh assembly as shown.

Tape encoder template (A) to console.

Insert encoder in hole, routing wire as shown.


Snap in (2) LED lenses and retainers.

Clean LED mounting area with alcohol wipe.

Route encoder wire adjacent to cupholder screw bosses.

Replace cupholder and (4) Phillips screws to capture encoder wire.

The lower cover lamp feature is disabled as part of the accessory installation.

Remove T20 Torx screw from hood release bracket. Leave hood cable attached.

Install (2) 4" cable ties to join cupholder and encoder wires.

Disconnect lower cover lamp harness.(if applicable)

Secure wire connector to existing IP harness with 4" cable tie.

Remove lower finisher and remove allelectrical connectors.

Carefully place finisher on a protectivecloth on vehicle floor.

Clean light stick mounting area with alcohol wipe.

Fix (2) 12.5 x 102mm x 0.7mm adhesivepad between edge of stick and position 8 & 4 as shown - on both light sticks.

Carefully pull light assembly and wiring to passenger footwell area.

Route passenger side light assembly behind heater core as shown.

NOTE:Review pictures before mounting light sticks. Do not block LEDs.

Use (3) 15" cable ties around duct and light assembly.

Use (2) 4" cable ties to secure light assembly to hood release cable and brake switch harness as shown.

Peel off double-sided tape liners from light assembly.

Ensure finisher flaps are tucked and do not block LEDs.

Clean duct mounting surface with alcohol wipe.

Peel double-sided tape liner from light assembly and press it to duct.


Remove (2) glove box lower finisher Phillips screws.

Clean I/P mounting surface with alcohol wipe.

The instructions for under the glove box are for 2009 and earlier vehicles. See the

addendum for 2010 vehicles.

10. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE: 13) Prepare Module

● Only use your fingers to release Module connector.● Prying on release tab with any tool may damage the tab.

Leave ties loose until power cable is fully routed.

Route remaining power cable across LG side of I/P.

Place (2) 4" cable ties in locations as shown. Do not fully tighten ties at this time.

Leave ties loose until power cable is fully routed.

Route Power cable along existing harness.


CAUTION

Fix (1) 58mm x 82 mm x 1mm foam rectangle pad to underside of module covering screw head.

d) Spread the individual strands into fan shape.

f) Tighten the tap TIGHT with finger pressure.

4) Confirm the tapped accessory wire.

a) Inspect the tap to ensure correct installation.

Test the signal to ensure that it is working properly.

Secure the tapped wire on the non-pierce side to the body of the tap with electrical tape (≥ 2 revolutions).

Secure the body to harness where vehicle wire is being tapped with electrical tape (≥ 2 revolutions).

Do not re-use the tap for subsequent re-installation. Figures are not to scale.

Avoid putting pressure on the vehicle wire and tap for the remainder of the installation.

Insert wire through the non-pierce side opening.

Insert wire into the tap body and ensure that it is all the way in.

16. Connect the Black accessory wire,ground, to the bolt to the left of theFuse panel.

There are four wires in the power harness for this kit.

They are: Brown - Room Lamp CircuitBlack - Ground If more than one wire isGreen - B+ ( battery ) used, offset by 30Blue - Accessory

● Color(s) given in illustration(s) are for reference only. Use location(s) where color deviates.● If a vehicle wire is being used by another accessory and a posi-Tap is present, tap

the accessory wire NOT the vehicle wire.

Two of these wires are connected to the fuse panel. They are Green and Blue.

Use a Posi-Tap ™ to connect the Blue wire of the accessory to the Gray wire at the fuse block connector.

Use a Posi-Tap ™ to connect the Green wire of the accessory to the White wire at the fuse

block connector.

Add (2) pieces foam tape and route Brown wire inside IP to base of LH pillar near Room Lamp connector.

Add 4" cable tie to retain extra wire length to existing harness.

Wrap foam tape around accessory power harness and Light Assembly wires and adhere to heater cover.


Place console in vehicle so console accessory wiring can reach Module, but do not fully install.

Connect (2) console accessory wires to Module.

Connect footwell light warning to Module.

Secure Cupholder and Encoder wiring with 11" cable tie.

Use caution when removing/re-installing trim components to avoid damage, scratches, breaking of clips and/or interior trim panels.

26) Verify there is no loose wiring.

27) Secure all cable ties and snip ends.

28) Verify system is functional.

29) Re-assemble vehicle in reverse order.

11) CHECKLIST

Prior to completion, verify the following:

1) Connect the battery negative terminal.

2)

3) Turn the lighting control knob and confirm that the color changes through 20 variations.

7) Reset the radio presets to the recorded settings.

8) Place the Accent Lighting Quick Reference card in the glove box.

9) Check the trim for a proper flush fit after re-installing the interior components.

10) Clean the interior of the vehicle.

11) Inspect the vehicle interior and exterior for damage.

12) Check and Clear trouble codes.

Leaving the accessory ON, turn the interior Room Lamp to "DOOR" and ignition switch OFF. Open the door and confirm the Accent Lighting Illuminates.

Leaving the accessory ON, and the ignition switch OFF, close and lock the door using CDL or Key Fob (if equipped). Confirm that the Accent Lighting turns off.


Turn the vehicle ignition switch to the "ACC" position, push lighting control knob, and confirm the Accent Lighting illuminates.

Press and hold control knob for 3 seconds and confirm that the Accent Lighting enters "Demo Mode" and cycles through colors. Press knob again to exit demo mode.

Remove trim above glove box by firmly pulling away from IP, taking note of the (5) clips.
