1 Installation Guide for Avid Editing Applications

The most current information about your Avid editing application is available in the online version of the ReadMe. You should always check online for the most up-to-date release notes or ReadMe because the online version is updated whenever new information becomes available. To view these online versions, select ReadMe from the Help menu of your Avid editing application, or visit the Knowledge Base at www.avid.com/readme.

Installing the Software

Prior to installing the editing application, you should uninstall Digi Drivers using Add/Remove from the Control Panel. Reboot the system and then install the new editing application. If you do not remove the Digi Drivers, the Audiosuite plug-ins do not load and you might receive either the error message “This software requires installation of device driver TPkd and a reboot before running” or a “DAE Interface NOT Available” error message. If you see these errors on a clean installation on a brand new system, install Hot fix KB926255 from Windows Update to fix the problem.

(Macintosh Only) If you are upgrading from a previous version of the Macintosh editing application, remove the Stereo Mixer.dpm and Surround Mixer.dpm plug-ins from the following location: Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins. If you do not remove these files, you might experience problems with the AudioSuite Tool.

For all Avid editing applications, you must first log in as the Administrator (not just a user with administrator privileges), install the application, and initially launch the application as the Administrator. If you are working in a shared storage environment, mount your workspaces. You may then subsequently run the Avid editing application as a regular User.

If you are updating from a previous release, you should first uninstall the existing editing application.

(Windows) To uninstall the Avid editing application software do one of the following:

t Using the Add/Remove program, remove the editing application.

t During the installation process, when prompted, choose to uninstall the editing application.

(Windows) To install the Avid editing application software:

1. Quit all active applications.

2. Insert the editing application DVD.

3. Click to Install the Avid Editor Suite or Individual Product and follow the on screen instructions.

n If the FilesInUse dialog box appears, you can safely select Ignore and continue.

n Depending on Windows activity on your system, some Microsoft Windows Driver Warnings might be minimized into your task bar at installation time. If your installation is taking longer than 5-10 minutes, please check your task bar for an icon with the word SOFTWARE in it. Click the icon and you may safely select Continue Anyway to continue your installation.

4. When prompted, select “Yes, restart my computer.”

(Macintosh) To uninstall the Avid Editing application software:

1. Quit all applications.

2. Go to Applications/Avid_Uninstaller/AvidEditingApplication

3. Double-click the AvidEditingApplication uninstaller.

4. Follow the on-screen prompts.

5. Repeat for uninstalling AvidCoreRuntime, AvidDIORuntime and AvidCodecs PE.

(Macintosh) To install the Avid Editing application software:

1. Quit all applications.

2. Insert the editing application DVD.

3. Click to Install the Avid Editor Suite or Individual Product and follow the on screen instructions.

4. When prompted, select “Yes, restart my computer.”

Avid Software Activation

After you install your software, you can activate your Avid editing application using one of several methods:

• You can use an Internet connection to activate your software automatically. Avid’s Activation tool lets you activate your software online using the system identification number and serial number that came with your software.

• You can use an Internet connection to activate your Avid editing application manually. If the system running your Avid editing application is not connected to the Internet, you can activate your software by using a different computer with an Internet connection.


• You can activate your software by upgrading from a dongle-based version to a software license. For more information, see “Upgrading the Software” on page 18.

• You can activate your software by upgrading from a previously installed software license version to a new software license. For more information, see “Upgrading the Software” on page 18.

• You can activate your software over the telephone by calling Avid customer service. This option lets you activate your Avid editing application if your system configuration does not allow for access to the Internet.

• You can run your software for a 30-day trial period without activating it. The trial period lets you access all functionality of your Avid editing application. At the end of the trial period, you can choose to purchase the software and activate it at that time.

n If you have an active Avid Support Contract, you might have the option to upgrade your software with an existing application key (dongle). See the instructions provided on the Avid Download Center for your upgrade or that came with your upgrade kit for more information.

c If you change your system configuration — for example, by replacing your hard drive or by upgrading your operating system — you must first deactivate your Avid software. For information on deactivation, see “Deactivating the Software” on page 26.

Activating the Software

After you install the software for your Avid editing application, you must activate your copy of the application.

The Avid Activation tool launches the first time you start your Avid editing application. If you are using the 30-day trial version of your Avid editing application, the Activation tool launches when you start your Avid editing application until the 30-day trial period expires.

c Activation uses the hardware address from a Network Interface Controller (NIC) in the system, so it is important not to change your Ethernet configuration once you have activated your software. If you need to disable one or more NICs on your system, you must do this before activation. If you install your software on a laptop that automatically disables your NIC — for example, when you move between Ethernet and wireless Internet connections — consult the documentation for your computer for instructions on how to change your system’s NIC settings before you activate your Avid software.

n If you deactivate your Avid editing application during the 30-day trial, the trial period continues to run and you cannot extend your trial beyond the 30-day limit.

If you are upgrading software that originally came with an application key, also called a “dongle,” you must attach the key before activating your software with Avid’s Activation tool (for more information, see “Connecting the Application Key” in the Help). When you upgrade your Avid editing application from a dongle-based version to a non-dongle version, the Activation tool automatically deactivates your dongle when it registers your copy of the software. For information on upgrading from a dongle-based editing application to a software license, see “Upgrading the Software” on page 18.


To activate your Avid editing application automatically:

1. Start your Avid editing application.

The Activation tool opens.

2. Select “I want to activate my software using this computer’s Internet connection.”


3. Click Continue.

The Avid Activation dialog box opens.

4. Enter your system identification number in the System ID text box. Your system identification number is located on the inside cover of this guide. If you purchased your Avid software online, you received your system identification number from Avid by e-mail. You can also view your system identification number by logging in to your support account.

n You can copy and paste your system identification number and your serial number from a text file to the appropriate text boxes.


5. Enter your serial number in the Serial Number text box. Your serial number is located on the inside cover of this guide. If you purchased your Avid software online, you received your serial number from Avid by e-mail. You can also view your serial number by logging in to your support account.

6. If you want to review Avid’s privacy policy, click Read Privacy Policy.

7. Do one of the following:

t Select “Register your product with Avid Technology, Inc. now,” and then click Next.

A registration dialog box opens. Avid’s online registration lets you receive important updates and maintenance information.

t Select “Don’t register at this time,” and then click Activate.

The Activation tool confirms your system information. When the activation is complete, a message informs you that your software has been successfully activated.

n If you do not want to register your software now, you can register at any time by selecting Special > Register in your Avid editing application.

8. If you choose to register your software, do the following:

a. In the Register dialog box, type your name, address, and contact information in the appropriate text boxes. Asterisks (*) indicate required fields.

b. Click Next

A registration dialog box opens.

c. Enter the appropriate product and customer information. Asterisks (*) indicate required fields.


d. Click Activate and Register.


9. Click OK.

To activate your Avid editing application manually:



2. Select “I want to activate by phone or by using another computer’s Internet connection.”

3. Click Continue.

The Avid Activation dialog box opens.

4. Enter your system identification number in the System ID text box. Your system identification number is located on the inside cover of this guide.

n You can copy and paste your system identification number and your serial number from a text file to the appropriate text boxes.


6. If you are activating your software over the telephone, call your local Avid Support Center. Avid Support Center contact information is available online at http://www.avid.com/US/contact/video.

Your Avid representative provides an activation code for your software. Once you have your activation code, proceed to step 12.

7. If you are using another computer to activate your software, on the second computer open a Web browser and navigate to http://activate.avid.com.

The Avid Activation page opens.

8. Enter your machine identification number in the Avid Machine ID text box. Your Avid Machine ID number is located on the Avid Activation dialog box.

11. Click Submit.

The Avid Activation page generates your activation code.

12. Transfer the Activation Code to the system you want to activate. You can copy the code to a text file and use a removable storage device such as a USB drive, or you can transfer the data over your network.

13. In the Avid Activation dialog box, enter the activation code in the Activation Code text box. Copying the entire Activation Code you received from the Avid Activation page from a text file and pasting into the first text box automatically fills the rest of the text boxes.

14. Click Activate.


15. Click OK.

To use your Avid editing application for a 30-day trial period:



2. Select “I want to run a fully-featured, trial version of [the Avid editing application] for 30 days.”


3. Click Continue.

A message informs you that your software has been successfully activated. At any time during the 30-day trial period, you can choose to purchase a copy of your Avid editing application and use the Activation tool to activate it. If you choose not to purchase the software, your Avid editing application is deactivated when the 30-day trial expires.

Upgrading the Software

You can upgrade your Avid editing application from either an existing software license or a dongle license. If you upgrade from a dongle license and are changing product models, then your upgrade kit includes a dongle updater card, upgrade code, and software activation code. Please see the instructions in your upgrade kit to update your software.

n Upgrading your dongle license to a software license updates your dongle information and disables your dongle. Once you have activated your software license, you do not need the dongle to run your Avid editing application.

If you have an upgrade for a major release and you upgrade from an existing software license, you must first deactivate your current license. If you do not, a message prompts you to deactivate the old license before activating the new software license.

n If the upgrade is for a maintenance release (available to qualified support contract customers), you do not have to deactivate your current license.

If you upgrade your existing dongle license and you have an active Avid Support Contract, please read the instructions provided on the Avid Download Center or that came with your upgrade kit before updating your system. All Avid Support Contract customers must use the Versioner.avd. file to upgrade their software as

To upgrade your Avid editing application automatically from an existing software license:

The Avid Activation dialog box opens. The System ID text box contains your existing system ID number.

4. Enter your serial number in the Serial Number text box. Use the serial number for your new version of your software.


t If you have never registered your product, select “Register your product with Avid Technology, Inc. now.” If you want to review Avid’s privacy policy, click Read Privacy Policy. Then click Next.








6. If you chose to register your software in step 5, do the following:

To upgrade your Avid editing application automatically from a dongle license:

1. Make sure you have attached your dongle to your Avid editing system.





4. Click Continue.

The Avid Activation dialog box opens, and lists the System ID from the dongle in the System ID text box.



t If you have never registered your product, select “Register your product with Avid Technology, Inc. now.” If you want to review Avid’s privacy policy, click Read Privacy Policy. Then click Next.





7. If you chose to register your software in step 6, do the following:

6. If you are using another computer to activate your software, on the second computer open a Web browser and navigate to http://activate.avid.com.

The Avid Activation page opens.

The Avid Activation page generates your activation code, and opens a page that asks for a confirmation code. Do not close the confirmation code page.

11. Transfer the Activation Code to the system you want to activate. You can copy the code to a text file and use a removable storage device such as a USB drive, or you can transfer the data over your network.

12. In the Avid Activation dialog box, enter the activation code in the Activation Code text box. Copying the entire Activation Code you received from the Avid Activation page from a text file and pasting into the first text box automatically fills the rest of the text boxes.



13. Click Activate.


14. Click OK.

A confirmation code is displayed.

15. On the computer connected to the Internet, enter the confirmation code, and click OK.

n If the Confirmation Code text box is not visible, click “Click here to enter your dongle confirmation code.”

To upgrade your Avid editing application with a dongle:

1. Make sure you have attached your dongle to your Avid editing system.

n You can activate your application with a dongle only if this option is available in the Activation tool.

2. Double-click the DongleManager.exe

The Dongle Manager window opens.

3. Click the Update tab.

4. Click Open, and navigate to the location of your dongle updater (.avd) file.

5. Select the updater file and click Open.

6. Click Update.

The DongleManager.exe application updates your dongle and displays a “Verification Complete” message.




8. Select “I want to activate my software using my dongle.”

9. Click Continue.


10. Click OK.

To upgrade your Avid editing application using the Versioner.avd file (Avid Support Contract customers only):

1. Download the Versioner.avd file for your editing application.

2. Place the Versioner.avd file in the editing application folder:

(Windows) [drive]:/Program Files/Avid/[Avid editing application]

(Macintosh) Macintosh HD/Applications/[Avid editing application]




t Select “I want to activate my software using this computer’s Internet connection.”

t Select “I want to activate by phone or by using another computer’s Internet connection.”

t Select “I want to activate my software using my dongle.”


5. Click Continue.

The Avid Activation dialog box opens. The System ID text box contains your existing system ID number, and the Serial Number text box contains your existing serial number.

6. Continue with the upgrade license activation procedure described in this section for the license option you selected in step 4.

Deactivating the Software

If you want to run your Avid editing application on another system, you first must deactivate your software license before you can activate it on a second system. Deactivation occurs while your Avid editing application is running, but the deactivation process automatically saves all open bins and the current project.

If your system has an Internet connection, you can reactivate your Avid editing application automatically. Otherwise, you must reactivate your software license manually by telephone or by using another computer’s connection to the Internet. For more information on activating your software, see “Activating the Software” on page 11.

Deactivating the Software 27

To deactivate your Avid editing application:

1. Start your Avid editing application, and then open a project.

2. Select Special > Deactivate.

The Deactivate dialog box opens.



t If you plan to use your Avid editing application on this system at a later time, deselect the option to clear the system ID and serial number information (the option is deselected by default). This preserves the local license information so you can easily reactivate your license.

t If you do not plan to use your system again — for example, if you plan to retire the computer — select the option to delete the system ID and serial number information. This removes the local license information from your system and prevents other users from activating your license.

4. Click Deactivate.

When the deactivation is complete, a message informs you that your software license has been successfully deactivated.

5. Click OK.

Your Avid editing application saves all open bins and the current project, and then quits.

Installation du logiciel

Avant d'installer l'application de montage, désinstallez également les pilotes Digidesign à l'aide de la fonction Ajout/Suppression de programmes du Panneau de configuration. Redémarrez le système, puis installez la nouvelle application de montage. Si vous ne supprimez pas les pilotes Digidesign, le chargement des modules AudioSuite n'aura pas lieu et vous risquez de recevoir le message d'erreur This software requires installation of device driver TPkd and a reboot before running (Ce logiciel nécessite l'installation du pilote de dispositifs TPkd et un redémarrage avant exécution) ou DAE Interface NOT Available (Interface DAE NON disponible). Si ces erreurs s'affichent sur une version nouvellement installée d'un système, installez le hot fix KB926255 de Windows Update pour résoudre le problème.



(Macintosh uniquement) Si vous effectuez une mise à niveau à partir d'une version précédente de l'application de montage Macintosh, supprimez les modules Stereo Mixer.dpm et Surround Mixer.dpm des emplacements suivants : Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins. Si vous ne supprimez pas ces fichiers, il se peut que vous rencontriez des problèmes avec l'outil AudioSuite.

Pour toutes les applications de montage Avid, vous devez vous connecter en tant qu'administrateur (pas juste en tant qu'utilisateur possédant des droits d'administrateur), installer l'application, puis lancer l'application en tant qu'administrateur. Si vous travaillez dans un environnement de stockage partagé, montez vos espaces de travail. Vous pourrez ensuite exécuter l'application de montage Avid en tant que simple utilisateur.

Si vous effectuez une mise à niveau d'une version précédente, vous devez d'abord désinstaller la version existante de l'application.

(Windows) Pour désinstaller l'application de montage Avid, utilisez l'une des méthodes suivantes :

t À l'aide de la fonction Ajout/Suppression de programmes, supprimez l'application de montage.

t Lorsque vous y serez invité au cours de la procédure d'installation, choisissez de désinstaller l'application de montage.

(Windows) Pour installer le logiciel de l'application de montage Avid :

1. Quittez toutes les applications en cours d'exécution.

2. Insérez le DVD de l'application de montage.

3. Indiquez si vous souhaitez installer la suite Avid Editor ou un produit unique en sélectionnant l'option appropriée et suivez les instructions qui s'affichent à l'écran.

n Si la boîte de dialogue FilesInUse (Fichiers en cours d'utilisation) s'ouvre, sélectionnez Ignore (Ignorer) et continuez.

n En fonction de l'activité de Windows sur votre système, certains messages d'alerte de pilote Microsoft Windows peuvent être minimisés dans la barre des tâches pendant l'installation. Si l'installation se prolonge au-delà de 5 à 10 minutes, repérez dans la barre des tâches l'icône contenant le terme SOFTWARE (Logiciel). Cliquez sur l'icône et sélectionnez Continue Anyway (Continuer quand même) pour poursuivre l'installation.

4. À l'invite, sélectionnez Yes, restart my computer (Oui, redémarrer l'ordinateur).

(Macintosh) Pour désinstaller l'application de montage Avid:

1. Quittez toutes les applications.

2. Accédez à Applications/Avid_Uninstaller/AvidEditingApplication.

3. Cliquez deux fois sur le programme de désinstallation AvidEditingApplication.

4. Suivez les invites qui s'affichent à l'écran.

5. Répétez l'opération pour désinstaller AvidCoreRuntime, AvidDIORuntime et AvidCodecs PE.

(Macintosh) Pour installer le logiciel de l'application de montage Avid:

1. Quittez toutes les applications.

2. Insérez le DVD de l'application de montage.


3. Indiquez si vous souhaitez installer la suite Avid Editor ou un produit unique en sélectionnant l'option appropriée et suivez les instructions qui s'affichent à l'écran.

Activation du logiciel Avid

Une fois le logiciel installé, plusieurs méthodes d'activation de l'application de montage Avid s'offrent à vous.

• Vous pouvez utiliser une connexion Internet pour activer le logiciel automatiquement. L'outil Activation d'Avid permet d'activer le logiciel en ligne à l'aide des numéros d'identification et de série du système fournis avec le logiciel.

• Vous pouvez également utiliser une connexion Internet pour activer l'application de montage Avid manuellement. Si le système sur lequel s'exécute votre application de montage Avid n'est pas connecté à Internet, vous pouvez activer le logiciel en utilisant un autre ordinateur disposant d'une connexion Internet.

• Vous pouvez activer le logiciel en procédant à une mise à niveau, d'une version basée sur une clé électronique (dongle) vers une licence logicielle. Pour plus d'informations, voir “Mise à niveau du logiciel” on page 41.

• Vous pouvez activer le logiciel en procédant à une mise à niveau, d'une version de licence logicielle installée vers une nouvelle licence logicielle. Pour plus d'informations, voir “Mise à niveau du logiciel” on page 41.

• Vous pouvez activer le logiciel par téléphone en appelant le service clientèle Avid. Cette option vous permet d'activer l'application de montage Avid si la configuration de votre système ne permet pas l'accès à Internet.

Activation du logiciel 33

• Vous pouvez utiliser le logiciel pendant une période d'essai de 30 jours sans l'activer. Durant cette période, vous pourrez accéder à toutes les fonctionnalités de l'application de montage Avid. Ensuite, vous pourrez choisir d'acheter le logiciel et l'activer à ce moment.

n Si vous disposez d'un contrat d'assistance Avid actif, vous aurez peut-être la possibilité de mettre à niveau votre logiciel à l'aide d'une clé électronique (dongle). Pour obtenir des informations supplémentaires, reportez-vous aux instructions disponibles depuis le centre de téléchargement Avid ou fournies avec votre mise à niveau.

c Si vous modifiez la configuration de votre système (par exemple, en remplaçant votre disque dur ou en mettant à niveau votre système d'exploitation), vous devez désactiver votre logiciel Avid. Pour plus d'informations sur la désactivation, voir “Désactivation du logiciel” on page 51.

Activation du logiciel

c Cet outil utilise l'adresse matérielle d'un contrôleur NIC (Network Interface Controller) du système, il est donc important de ne pas modifier la configuration Ethernet une fois le logiciel activé. Si vous devez désactiver un ou plusieurs contrôleurs NIC sur le système, vous devez le faire avant d'activer le logiciel. Si vous installez votre logiciel sur un ordinateur portable qui désactive


automatiquement votre carte NIC (par exemple, lorsque vous passez d'une connexion Ethernet à une connexion Internet sans fil), consultez la documentation de votre ordinateur pour obtenir des instructions sur le changement des paramètres NIC de votre système avant d'activer votre logiciel Avid.

n Si vous désactivez votre application de montage Avid au cours de la période d'essai de 30 jours, celle-ci se poursuit normalement. Vous ne pourrez pas prolonger la période d'essai au-delà de la limite de 30 jours.

Si vous procédez à la mise à niveau d'un logiciel fourni à l'origine avec une clé électronique ou « dongle », vous devez connecter la clé avant d'activer le logiciel à l'aide de l'outil Activation d'Avid (pour plus d'informations, voir la section « Connecting the Application Key » (Connexion de la clé électronique) dans l'Aide). Lorsque vous mettez à niveau l'application de montage Avid d'une version basée sur une clé électronique vers une version standard, l'outil d'activation désactive automatiquement la clé lors de l'enregistrement de votre exemplaire du logiciel. Pour activer l'application de montage Avid automatiquement :

1. Démarrez l'application.

L'outil Activation s'affiche.

2. Sélectionnez I want to activate my software using this computer's Internet connection (Je souhaite activer le logiciel en utilisant la connexion Internet de cet ordinateur).


3. Cliquez sur Continue (Continuer).

La boîte de dialogue Avid Activation (Activation Avid) s'affiche.

4. Saisissez le numéro d'identification du système dans la zone de texte System ID (ID du système). Le numéro d'identification de votre système figure à l'intérieur de la couverture de ce guide. Si vous avez acheté le logiciel Avid en ligne, vous avez reçu ce numéro d'Avid par courrier électronique. Vous pouvez également connaître ce numéro d'identification en vous connectant à votre compte du service d'assistance.

n Vous pouvez copier et coller le numéro d'identification du système ainsi que le numéro de série d'un fichier texte vers les zones de texte appropriées.


5. Saisissez le numéro de série dans la zone de texte Serial Number (Numéro de série). Votre numéro de série figure à l'intérieur de la couverture de ce guide. Si vous avez acheté le logiciel Avid en ligne, vous avez reçu ce numéro d'Avid par courrier électronique. 8. Si vous choisissez d'enregistrer votre logiciel, procédez comme suit :

a. Dans la boîte de dialogue Register (Enregistrer), entrez vos nom, adresse et informations de contact dans les zones de texte appropriées. Les astérisques (*) indiquent les champs obligatoires.

b. Cliquez sur Next (Suivant).

Mise à niveau du logiciel

Vous pouvez mettre à niveau l'application de montage Avid à partir d'une licence basée sur une clé électronique ou d'une licence logicielle existante. Si vous effectuez la mise à niveau à partir d'une version de licence basée sur une clé électronique et changez de modèles de produit, votre kit de mise à niveau inclut


une carte de mise à jour de clé électronique, un code de mise à niveau et un code d'activation de logiciel. Reportez-vous aux instructions de votre kit de mise à niveau pour mettre à jour votre logiciel.

n Mettre à niveau votre version de licence basée sur une clé électronique vers une version de licence logicielle met à niveau vos informations de clé électronique et désactive votre clé électronique. Une fois votre licence logicielle activée, vous n'avez pas besoin de la clé électronique pour exécuter votre application de montage Avid.

Si une mise à niveau est disponible pour une version majeure, pour l'appliquer à partir d'une licence logicielle existante, vous devez d'abord désactiver la licence en cours d'utilisation. Sinon, un message vous invite à désactiver l'ancienne licence avant d'activer la nouvelle licence logicielle.

n Si la mise à niveau concerne une version de maintenance (accessible aux clients sous contrat d'assistance qualifiés), vous ne devez pas désactiver la licence en cours d'utilisation.

2. Cliquez deux fois sur DongleManager.exe.

3. Cliquez sur l'onglet Update (Mise à niveau).

4. Cliquez sur Open (Ouvrir), puis accédez à l'emplacement du fichier de mise à jour de clé électronique (.avd).

5. Sélectionnez le fichier de mise à jour, puis cliquez sur Open (Ouvrir).


6. Cliquez sur Update (Mettre à jour).

L'application DongleManager.exe met à jour la clé électronique et affiche le message Verification Complete (Vérification terminée).



8. Sélectionnez I want to activate my software using my dongle (Je veux activer le logiciel avec ma clé électronique).



10. Cliquez sur OK.

Pour mettre à niveau l'application de montage Avid avec le fichier Versioner.avd (clients sous contrat d'assistance Avid uniquement) :

1. Téléchargez le fichier Versioner.avd pour votre application de montage.

2. Placez le fichier téléchargé dans le dossier de l'application de montage :

(Windows) [lecteur]:/Program Files/Avid/[application de montage Avid]

6. Poursuivez la procédure d'activation de licence de mise à niveau décrite dans cette section pour l'option de licence sélectionnée à l'étape 4.

Désactivation du logiciel

Si vous souhaitez exécuter l'application de montage Avid sur un autre système, vous devez commencer par désactiver la licence du logiciel pour pouvoir l'activer sur un autre système. La désactivation s'effectue pendant l'exécution de votre application, mais le processus de désactivation enregistre automatiquement tous les chutiers ouverts et le projet en cours.


Si votre système est connecté à Internet, vous pouvez réactiver l'application de montage Avid automatiquement. Dans le cas contraire, vous devez réactiver la licence du logiciel manuellement par téléphone ou en utilisant la connexion Internet d'un autre ordinateur. Pour plus d'informations sur l'activation du logiciel, voir “Activation du logiciel” on page 33.

Pour désactiver l'application de montage Avid :1. Démarrez l'application de montage Avid, puis ouvrez un projet.

2. Sélectionnez Special (Spécial) > Deactivate (Désactiver).

t Si vous avez l'intention d'utiliser l'application de montage Avid ultérieurement sur ce système, désélectionnez l'option de suppression des informations d'identifiant système et de numéro de série (cette option est activée par défaut). Les informations de licence locales sont conservées de façon à vous permettre de réactiver facilement votre licence.

t Si vous n'avez pas l'intention de réutiliser le système (si vous prévoyez de remplacer l'ordinateur, par exemple), sélectionnez l'option de suppression des informations d'identifiant système et de numéro de série. Les informations de licence locales sont supprimées du système, ce qui empêche les autres utilisateurs d'activer votre licence.

4. Cliquez sur Deactivate (Désactiver).

Une fois la désactivation terminée, un message vous informe que la désactivation de la licence du logiciel a bien été effectuée.

5. Cliquez sur OK.

L'application de montage Avid enregistre tous les chutiers ainsi que le projet en cours avant de se fermer.

Installieren der Software

Vor dem Installieren der Editing-Anwendung sollten die Digi-Treiber über die Systemsteuerung mit der Option „Ändern/Entfernen“ deinstalliert werden. Falls diese Fehlermel- dungen bei einer Neuinstallation unter einem ganz neuen System angezeigt werden, installieren Sie das Hotfix KB926255 von Windows Update, um das Problem zu beheben.

(Nur Macintosh) Wenn Sie eine Aktualisierung von einer vorherigen Version der Macintosh-Anwendung durchführen, entfernen Sie die Plug-Ins „Stereo Mixer.dpm“ und „Surround Mixer.dpm“ vom folgenden Speicherort: Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins. Wenn Sie diese Dateien nicht entfernen, treten möglicherweise Probleme mit dem AudioSuite-Tool auf.



Sie müssen sich bei allen Avid-Anwendungen erst als Administrator anmelden (Administratorberechtigungen allein reichen nicht aus), die Anwendung installieren und erstmalig als Administrator starten. Wenn Sie in einer Umgebung mit gemeinsamem Speicher arbeiten, melden Sie sich bei Ihren Arbeitsbereichen an. Danach können Sie die Avid-Anwendung als regulärer Benutzer ausführen.

Wenn Sie eine Aktualisierung von einer früheren Version durchführen, empfiehlt es sich, zuerst die bestehende Anwendung zu deinstallieren.

(Windows) Zum Deinstallieren der Avid-Anwendungssoftware haben Sie folgende Möglichkeiten:

t Entfernen Sie die Avid-Anwendung über die Option „Ändern/Entfernen“ in der Systemsteuerung.

t Wählen Sie während des Installationsvorgangs bei entsprechender Aufforderung die Option zum Deinstallieren der Avid-Anwendung.

(Windows) So installieren Sie die Avid-Anwendungssoftware:

1. Beenden Sie alle aktiven Anwendungen.

2. Legen Sie die Anwendungs-DVD ein.

3. Klicken Sie, um die Avid-Suite oder das individuelle Produkt auszuwählen, und befolgen Sie die Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm.

n Wenn das Dialogfeld „FilesInUse“ (Dateien werden verwendet) angezeigt wird, klicken Sie einfach auf „Ignore“ (Ignorieren), und fahren Sie fort.

5. Wiederholen Sie den Vorgang zum Deinstallieren von AvidCoreRuntime, AvidDIORuntime und AvidCodecs PE.

Aktivierung der Avid-Software

Nach der Installation der Software haben Sie folgende Möglichkeiten, um Ihre Avid-Anwendung zu aktivieren:

• Sie können die Software über eine Internetverbindung automatisch aktivieren. Mit dem Aktivierungs-Tool von Avid wird die Aktivierung der Software mit der Systemidentifizierungsnummer und der Seriennummer online durchgeführt.

• Sie können die Avid-Anwendungssoftware über eine Internetverbindung manuell aktivieren. Wenn das System, auf dem die Avid-Anwendung ausgeführt wird, keine Verbindung mit dem Internet hergestellt hat, können Sie die Software mit einem anderen Computer mit Internetverbindung aktivieren.

• Sie können die Software aktivieren, indem Sie von einer Dongle-basierten Version auf eine Softwarelizenz aktualisieren. Weitere Informationen finden Sie unter “Aktualisieren der Software” on page 65.

• Sie können die Software aktivieren, indem Sie von einer zuvor installierten Version der Softwarelizenz auf eine neue Softwarelizenz aktualisieren. Weitere Informationen finden Sie unter “Aktualisieren der Software” on page 65.

• Sie können die Software über einen Telefonanruf beim Avid-Kundenservice aktivieren. Diese Option ermöglicht es Ihnen, die Avid-Anwendung zu aktivieren, wenn aufgrund Ihrer Systemkonfiguration kein Internetzugang möglich ist.

• Sie können die Software 30 Tage lang als Testversion ausführen, ohne Sie dazu aktivieren zu müssen. Während dieses Testzeitraums können Sie auf die gesamte Funktionalität der Avid-Anwendung zugreifen. Am Ende dieses Zeitraums können Sie entscheiden, ob Sie die Software kaufen und gleichzeitig aktivieren möchten.

n Wenn Sie über einen aktiven Avid-Supportvertrag verfügen, haben Sie möglicherweise die Möglichkeit, Ihre Software mit einem vorhandenen Anwendungsschlüssel (Dongle) zu aktualisieren. Weitere Informationen zu Ihrem Upgrade oder zu Ihrem Upgrade-Kit finden Sie im Avid Download Center.

c Wenn Sie Ihre Systemkonfiguration ändern, beispielsweise durch Ersetzen Ihrer Festplatte oder durch Aktualisieren Ihres Betriebssystems, müssen Sie zunächst die Avid-Software deaktivieren. Informationen zum Deaktivieren finden Sie unter “Deaktivieren der Software” on page 75.

Aktivieren der Software

Nach der Installation der Software der Avid-Anwendung müssen Sie Ihre Kopie der Anwendung aktivieren.

Das Avid-Aktivierungs-Tool wird beim ersten Ausführen der Avid-Anwendung gestartet. Wenn Sie mit der 30-tägigen Testversion der Avid-Anwendung arbeiten, wird das Aktivierungs-Tool mit jedem Start der Avid-Anwendung geöffnet, bis der 30-tägige Testzeitraum abgelaufen ist.

c Zur Aktivierung wird die Hardwareadresse eines Network Interface Controllers (NIC) im System verwendet. Aus diesem Grund ist es wichtig, die Ethernet-Konfiguration nicht zu verändern, nachdem Sie die Aktivierung durchgeführt haben. Falls Sie eines oder mehrere NICs auf dem System deaktivieren müssen, sollten Sie dies vor der Aktivierung tun. Wenn Sie Ihre Software auf einem Laptop installieren, das automatisch Ihren NIC deaktiviert, beispielsweise wenn Sie zwischen Ethernet- und drahtlosen Internetverbindungen wechseln, finden Sie weitere Anweisungen dazu, wie Ihre systemseitigen NIC-Einstellungen vor dem Aktivieren der Avid-Software geändert werden können, in der Dokumentation Ihres Computers.


n Wenn Sie die Avid-Anwendung während des 30-tägigen Testzeitraums deaktivieren, wird dieser Zeitraum dennoch fortgesetzt. Sie können die Testversion nicht über das 30-Tage-Limit hinaus verwenden.

Wenn Sie Software aktualisieren, die Sie ursprünglich mit einem Anwendungsschlüssel – einem sogenannten „Dongle“ – erhalten haben, müssen Sie den Schlüssel zuweisen, bevor die Software mit dem Aktivierungs-Tool von Avid aktiviert werden kann. (Weitere Informationen finden Sie unter „Connecting the Application Key“ (Zuweisen des Anwendungsschlüssels) in der Hilfe.) Wenn Sie die Avid-Anwendung von einer Dongle-basierten Version auf eine Version ohne Dongle aktualisieren, deaktiviert das Aktivierungs-Tool bei der Registrierung Ihrer Softwarekopie automatisch den Dongle. So aktivieren Sie die Avid-Anwendung automatisch:

n Sie können die Systemidentifizierungsnummer und die Seriennummer aus einer Textdatei kopieren und in die entsprechenden Textfelder einfügen.


5. Geben Sie Ihre Seriennummer in das Textfeld „Serial Number“ (Seriennummer) ein. Sie finden die Seriennummer auf der Innenseite des Deckblatts dieses Handbuchs. Wenn Sie die Avid-Software online erworben haben, wurde Ihnen die Seriennummer von Avid per E-Mail zugestellt. Sie können die Seriennummer auch anzeigen, indem Sie sich bei Ihrem Supportkonto anmelden.

6. Wenn Sie die Datenschutzrichtlinien von Avid lesen möchten, klicken Sie auf „Read Privacy Policy“ (Datenschutzrichtlinie lesen).

7. Sie haben folgende Möglichkeiten:

t Wählen Sie „Register your product with Avid Technology, Inc. now“ (Produkt jetzt bei Avid Technology, Inc. registrieren) und klicken Sie dann auf „Next“ (Weiter).

Ein Registrierungsdialogfeld wird geöffnet. Wenn Sie sich online bei Avid registrieren, haben Sie die Möglichkeit, wichtige Informationen zu Updates und zur Wartung der Software zu erhalten.

t Wählen Sie „Don’t register at this time“ (Jetzt nicht registrieren) und klicken Sie dann auf „Activate“ (Aktivieren).

Das Aktivierungs-Tool überprüft Ihre Systeminformationen. Sobald die Aktivierung abgeschlossen ist, werden Sie in einer Meldung darüber informiert, dass die Software erfolgreich aktiviert wurde.

n Wenn Sie Ihre Software jetzt nicht registrieren möchten, können Sie sie zu jedem anderen Zeitpunkt registrieren, indem Sie in Ihrer Avid-Anwendung „Special > Register“ (Extras >Registrieren) wählen.


8. Wenn Sie die Software registrieren möchten, gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

a. Geben Sie im Dialogfeld „Register“ (Registrieren) Ihren Namen, Ihre Adresse und Kontaktinformationen in die entsprechenden Textfelder ein. Sternchen (*) kennzeichnen erforderliche Felder.

b. Klicken Sie auf „Next“ (Weiter).

Ein Registrierungsdialogfeld wird geöffnet.

c. Geben Sie die korrekten Produkt- und Kundeninformationen ein. Sternchen (*) kennzeichnen erforderliche Felder.

d. Klicken Sie auf „Activate“ (Aktivieren) und „Register“ (Registrieren).


9. Klicken Sie auf „OK“.

11. Klicken Sie auf „Submit“ (Senden).

Auf der Seite zur Avid-Aktivierung wird Ihr Aktivierungscode generiert.

12. Übertragen Sie den Aktivierungscode auf das System, das Sie aktivieren möchten. Sie können den Code in eine Textdatei kopieren und die Daten über einen Wechseldatenträger wie USB oder über das Netzwerk übertragen.

13. Geben Sie im Avid-Aktivierungsdialogfeld den Aktivierungscode in das Textfeld „Activation Code“ (Aktivierungscode) ein. Wenn Sie den gesamten Aktivierungscode, den Sie zuvor auf der Avid-Aktivierungsseite erhalten haben, aus einer Textdatei kopieren und in das erste Textfeld einfügen, werden die anderen Textfelder automatisch ausgefüllt.

Aktualisieren der Software

Sie können die Avid-Software entweder von einer vorhandenen Softwarelizenz oder von einer Dongle-Lizenz aktualisieren. Wenn Sie die Aktualisierung von einer Dongle-Lizenz ausführen und das Produktmodell ändern, enthält Ihr Upgrade-Kit eine Karte für Dongle-Aktualisierer und einen Aktivierungscode für die Software. Weitere Hinweise finden Sie im Upgrade-Kit zum Aktualisieren der Software.


n Wenn Sie Ihre Dongle-Lizenz auf eine Softwarelizenz aktualisieren, werden Ihre Dongle-Informationen aktualisiert und Ihr Dongle wird deaktiviert. Sobald Sie Ihre Softwarelizenz aktiviert haben, brauchen Sie den Dongle nicht mehr zum Ausführen Ihrer Avid-Anwendung.

Wenn Sie eine Aktualisierung für eine Hauptversion haben und von einer vorhandenen Softwarelizenz aktualisieren, müssen Sie zuerst Ihre aktuelle Lizenz deaktivieren. Ist dies nicht der Fall, werden Sie in einer Meldung dazu aufgefordert, vor dem Aktivieren der neuen Softwarelizenz Ihre alte Lizenz zu deaktivieren.

n Erfolgt die Aktualisierung für eine Wartungsversion (verfügbar für autorisierte Supportvertragkunden), brauchen Sie Ihre aktuelle Lizenz nicht zu deaktivieren.

Wenn Sie Ihre vorhandene Dongle-Lizenz aktualisieren und über einen aktiven Avid-Supportvertrag verfügen, lesen Sie vor dem Aktualisieren Ihres Systems die Hinweise, die Sie im Avid Download Center finden oder die im Lieferumfang Ihres Upgrade-Kits enthalten sind. Alle Kunden mit Avid-Supportvertrag müssen zum Aktualisieren Ihrer Software die Datei Versioner.avd. verwenden, wie im letzten Abschnitt dieses Kapitels beschrieben. 11. Übertragen Sie den Aktivierungscode auf das System, das Sie aktivieren möchten. Sie können den Code in eine Textdatei kopieren und die Daten über einen Wechseldatenträger wie USB oder über das Netzwerk übertragen.

12. Geben Sie im Avid-Aktivierungsdialogfeld den Aktivierungscode in das Textfeld „Activation Code“ (Aktivierungscode) ein. Wenn Sie den gesamten Aktivierungscode, den Sie zuvor auf der Avid-Aktivierungsseite erhalten haben, aus einer Textdatei kopieren und in das erste Textfeld einfügen, werden die anderen Textfelder automatisch ausgefüllt.

13. Klicken Sie auf „Activate“ (Aktivieren).



Es wird ein Bestätigungscode angezeigt.


15. Geben Sie auf dem Computer mit der Internetverbindung den Bestätigungscode ein, und klicken Sie auf „OK“.

n Wenn das Textfeld „Confirmation Code“ (Bestätigungscode) nicht sichtbar ist, klicken Sie auf „Click here to enter your dongle confirmation code“ (Klicken Sie hier, um den Dongle-Bestätigungscode einzugeben).

So aktualisieren Sie die Avid-Anwendung mit einem Dongle:

1. Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Dongle dem Avid-System zugewiesen wurde.

n Sie können die Anwendung nur dann mit einem Dongle aktivieren, wenn diese Option im Aktivierungs-Tool verfügbar ist.

2. Doppelklicken Sie auf „DongleManager.exe“.

Das Fenster „Dongle Manager“ wird geöffnet.

3. Klicken Sie auf die Registerkarte „Update“ (Aktualisieren).

4. Klicken Sie „Open“ (Öffnen) und navigieren Sie zum Speicherort der Dongle-Updater-Datei (.avd).

5. Wählen Sie die Updater-Datei aus und klicken Sie auf „Open“ (Öffnen).

6. Klicken Sie auf „Update“ (Aktualisieren).

Die Anwendung DongleManager.exe aktualisiert Ihren Dongle und zeigt eine Meldung mit dem Namen „Verification Complete“ (Verifizierung abgeschlossen) an.



8. Wählen Sie „I want to activate my software using my dongle“ (Ich möchte die Software über den Dongle aktivieren).





So aktualisieren Sie die Avid-Anwendung mit der Datei Versioner.avd (nur für Kunden mit Avid-Supportvertrag):

1. Laden Sie die Datei Versioner.avd für Ihre Avid-Anwendung herunter.

2. Platzieren Sie die Datei Versioner.avd im Ordner der Avid-Anwendung.

Das Dialogfeld zur Avid-Aktivierung wird geöffnet. Das Textfeld „System ID“ (System-ID) enthält Ihre bereits vorhandene Systemidentifizierungsnummer, das Textfeld „Serial Number“ (Seriennummer) Ihre bereits vorhandene Seriennummer.

6. Fahren Sie mit der Aktivierung der Aktualisierungslizenz wie in diesem Abschnitt beschrieben und entsprechend der von Ihnen in Schritt 4 gewählten Lizenzoption fort.

Deaktivieren der Software

Wenn Sie die Avid-Anwendung auf einem anderen System ausführen möchten, müssen Sie dazu die Softwarelizenz deaktivieren. Erst danach können Sie diese auf einem zweiten System aktivieren. Die Deaktivierung geschieht, während die Avid-Anwendung ausgeführt wird. Während des Deaktivierungsprozesses werden jedoch automatisch alle geöffneten Bins und das aktuelle Projekt gespeichert.

Falls Ihr System über eine Verbindung zum Internet verfügt, können Sie die Avid-Anwendung automatisch erneut aktivieren. Andernfalls müssen Sie die Softwarelizenz manuell per Telefon oder über die Internetverbindung eines anderen Computers aktivieren. Weitere Informationen zum Aktivieren der Software finden Sie unter “Aktivieren der Software” on page 57.

So deaktivieren Sie die Avid-Anwendung:

1. Starten Sie die Avid-Anwendung, und öffnen Sie ein Projekt.

2. Wählen Sie „Special > Deactivate“ (Extras > Deaktivieren) aus.

t Wenn Sie die Avid-Anwendung zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt erneut auf diesem System verwenden möchten, deaktivieren Sie die Option zum Löschen der System-ID- und der Seriennummerinformationen (die Option ist standardmäßig deaktiviert). Auf diese Weise werden die lokalen Lizenzinformationen beibehalten, und Sie können die Lizenz problemlos erneut aktivieren.

Installazione del software

Prima di installare l'applicazione di editing, è necessario disinstallare i driver Digi tramite Installazione applicazioni nel Pannello di controllo. Riavviare il sistema e installare la nuova applicazione di editing. Se non si rimuovono i driver Digi, i plug-in di Audiosuite non verranno caricati ed è possibile che venga visualizzato il messaggio di errore "This software requires installation of device driver TPkd and a reboot before running" (Prima di eseguire il software è necessario installare il driver di dispositivo TPkd e riavviare il sistema) oppure "DAE Interface NOT Available" (Interfaccia DAE non disponibile). Se questi errori si verificano dopo un'installazione corretta su un sistema nuovo, installare la correzione rapida KB926255 da Windows Update per risolvere il problema.

(Solo per Macintosh) Se si sta eseguendo l'aggiornamento da una versione precedente dell'applicazione di editing per Macintosh, rimuovere i plug-in Stereo Mixer.dpm e Surround Mixer.dpm dal seguente percorso: Macintosh HD/Libreria/Application Support/Digidesign/plug-ins. Se questi file non vengono rimossi, è possibile che lo strumento AudioSuite non funzioni correttamente.



Per tutte le applicazioni di editing Avid è necessario innanzitutto effettuare l'accesso come amministratore (non come utente con privilegi di amministratore), installare l'applicazione ed eseguire il primo avvio come amministratore. Se si sta lavorando in un ambiente di archiviazione condiviso, montare le aree di lavoro. Sarà quindi possibile eseguire l'applicazione di editing Avid accedendo come utente normale.

Se si sta eseguendo l'aggiornamento da una versione precedente, è necessario innanzitutto disinstallare l'applicazione di editing esistente.

(Windows) Per disinstallare il software dell'applicazione di editing Avid, effettuare quanto segue:

t In Installazione applicazioni, rimuovere l'applicazione di editing.

t Durante il processo di installazione, quando richiesto, confermare la disinstallazione dell'applicazione di editing.

(Windows) Per installare il software dell'applicazione di editing Avid, effettuare quanto segue:

1. Chiudere tutte le applicazioni.

2. Inserire il DVD dell'applicazione di editing.

• Attivazione manuale del software tramite una connessione Internet. Se il sistema sul quale è in esecuzione l'applicazione di editing Avid non è connesso a Internet, è comunque possibile attivare il software utilizzando un altro computer provvisto di connessione Internet.

• Attivazione tramite aggiornamento da una versione con chiavetta hardware a una versione con licenza software. Per ulteriori informazioni consultare la sezione “Aggiornamento del software” on page 89.

• Attivazione tramite aggiornamento da una versione con licenza software esistente a una nuova licenza software. Per ulteriori informazioni consultare la sezione “Aggiornamento del software” on page 89.

• Attivazione tramite telefono contattando il servizio clienti Avid. Questa opzione consente di attivare l'applicazione di editing laddove non sia possibile accedere a Internet a causa della configurazione del sistema in uso.

• Esecuzione del software per un periodo di valutazione di 30 giorni senza attivazione. Durante il periodo di valutazione è possibile accedere a tutte le funzionalità dell'applicazione di editing Avid. Allo scadere dei 14 giorni è possibile scegliere di acquistare e attivare il software.

n Se si ha accesso a un contratto di assistenza Avid attivo, potrebbe essere possibile effettuare l'aggiornamento del software utilizzando una chiavetta hardware esistente. Per ulteriori informazioni sull'aggiornamento, vedere le istruzioni fornite presso Avid Download Center o con il kit di aggiornamento.

c Se si modifica la configurazione del sistema, ad esempio attraverso la sostituzione del disco rigido o l'aggiornamento del sistema operativo, è necessario innanzitutto disattivare il software Avid. Per ulteriori informazioni sulla disattivazione, consultare la sezione “Disattivazione del software” on page 99.

Attivazione del software

Dopo aver installato il software dell'applicazione di editing Avid, è necessario eseguirne l'attivazione.

Lo strumento di attivazione di Avid viene avviato quando si apre l'applicazione di editing Avid per la prima volta. Se si sta utilizzando la versione di valutazione valida per 30 giorni, lo strumento di attivazione viene avviato ogni volta che si apre l'applicazione di editing fino allo scadere del periodo di valutazione.

c Per l'attivazione viene utilizzato l'indirizzo hardware di un NIC (Network Interface Controller) del sistema; per questo motivo, è importante non modificare la configurazione Ethernet in seguito all'attivazione del software. Se si desidera disattivare uno o più NIC del sistema, è necessario farlo prima di eseguire l'attivazione del prodotto. Se si installa il software su un computer portatile sul quale il NIC viene disattivato in modo automatico, ad esempio quando si passa da una connessione Ethernet a una Internet senza fili, consultare la documentazione relativa al computer per istruzioni su come modificare le impostazioni NIC del sistema prima di attivare il software Avid.


n Se l'applicazione di editing viene disattivata durante il periodo di valutazione di 30 giorni, la validità continuerà comunque a decorrere dalla data del primo avvio e non sarà possibile estenderla oltre tale periodo.

Se si sta eseguendo l'aggiornamento di un software dotato di chiavetta hardware, è necessario collegare la chiave prima di attivare il software tramite lo strumento di attivazione di Avid. Per ulteriori informazioni, consultare la sezione "Connecting the Application Key" (Connessione della chiavetta hardware dell'applicazione) in Help (Guida in linea). Se si esegue l'aggiornamento dell'applicazione di editing Avid da una versione con chiavetta hardware a una versione con licenza elettronica, la chiavetta hardware verrà automaticamente disattivata al momento dell'attivazione del software. Per attivare automaticamente l'applicazione di editing Avid, effettuare quanto segue:

1. Avviare l'applicazione di editing Avid.

Viene avviato lo strumento di attivazione.

2. Selezionare "I want to activate my software using this computer’s Internet connection" (Desidero attivare il software tramite la connessione Internet di questo computer).


3. Fare clic su Continue (Continua).

Viene visualizzata la finestra di dialogo Avid Activation (Attivazione Avid).

4. Inserire il numero di identificazione del sistema nella casella di testo System ID (ID sistema). Il numero di identificazione del sistema è riportato sulla copertina interna della presente guida. Se il software Avid è stato acquistato online, il numero di identificazione del sistema è stato inviato da Avid tramite posta elettronica. È possibile visualizzare il numero di identificazione del sistema accedendo al proprio account di supporto.

n Da un file di testo, è possibile copiare il numero di identificazione del sistema e il numero di serie del prodotto e incollarli all'interno delle caselle di testo appropriate.


5. Inserire il numero di serie nella casella di testo Serial Number (Numero di serie). Il numero di serie è riportato sulla copertina interna della presente guida. Se il software Avid è stato acquistato online, il numero di serie è stato inviato da Avid tramite posta elettronica. È possibile visualizzare il numero di serie accedendo al proprio account di supporto.

6. Per esaminare l'informativa sulla privacy di Avid, fare clic su Read Privacy Policy (Leggi l'informativa sulla privacy).

7. Procedere in uno dei modi seguenti:

t Selezionare "Register your product with Avid Technology, Inc. now," (Registra subito il prodotto presso Avid Technology, Inc.) e fare clic su "Next" (Avanti).

Viene visualizzata la finestra di dialogo per la registrazione. La registrazione online di Avid consente di ricevere importanti aggiornamenti e informazioni sulla manutenzione.

t Selezionare "Don’t register at this time" (Non registrare adesso), quindi fare clic su "Activate" (Attiva).

8. Per registrare il software, effettuare quanto segue:

a. Nella finestra di dialogo Register (Registra), immettere il proprio nome, indirizzo e informazioni di contatto nei rispettivi campi. L'asterisco (*) indica i campi obbligatori.


b. Fare clic su Next (Avanti).

Viene visualizzata la finestra di dialogo per la registrazione.

c. Immettere le informazioni sul prodotto e quelle personali. L'asterisco (*) indica i campi obbligatori.

d. Fare clic su Activate and Register (Attiva e registra).


9. Fare clic su OK.

6. Se si esegue l'attivazione telefonica del software, chiamare il centro di assistenza Avid. Le informazioni di contatto sui centri di assistenza Avid sono disponibili su Internet all'indirizzo http://www.avid.com/US/contact/video.

L'addetto Avid fornirà un codice di attivazione per il software. Quando si è in possesso di tale codice, passare al punto 12.

7. Se si sta utilizzando il computer di un'altra persona per eseguire l'attivazione del software, aprire una finestra del browser Web sul secondo computer e andare all'indirizzo http://activate.avid.com.

Viene visualizzata la pagina relativa all'attivazione dei prodotti Avid.






8. Inserire il numero di identificazione del computer nella casella di testo Avid Machine ID (ID computer Avid). L'ID del computer Avid è indicato nella finestra di dialogo Avid Activation (Attivazione Avid).

9. Inserire il numero di identificazione del sistema nella casella di testo System ID (ID sistema). Il numero di identificazione del sistema è riportato sulla copertina interna della presente guida. Se il software Avid è stato acquistato online, il numero di identificazione del sistema è stato inviato da Avid tramite posta elettronica. È possibile visualizzare il numero di identificazione del sistema accedendo al proprio account di supporto.


11. Fare clic su Submit (Invia).

Verrà generato un codice di attivazione.

12. Trasferire il codice di attivazione nel sistema che si desidera attivare. È possibile copiare il codice in un file di testo e trasferirlo tramite un dispositivo rimovibile di archiviazione, ad esempio un'unità USB, oppure trasferire i dati tramite la rete.

13. Nella finestra di dialogo Avid Activation (Attivazione Avid), inserire il codice di attivazione nella corrispondente casella di testo. Se si copia in un file di testo l'intero codice di attivazione indicato nella pagina di attivazione dei prodotti Avid e lo si incolla all'interno della prima casella di testo, le restanti caselle di testo verranno completate automaticamente.

Per utilizzare l'applicazione di editing Avid per un periodo di valutazione di 30 giorni, effettuare quanto segue:

Aggiornamento del software

È possibile aggiornare l'applicazione di editing Avid da una versione con chiavetta hardware o da una versione con licenza software. Se si esegue l'aggiornamento da una licenza con chiavetta hardware e si è passati a modelli diversi del prodotto, il kit di aggiornamento include una scheda di aggiornamento della chiavetta


hardware, un codice di aggiornamento e il codice di attivazione del software. Per informazioni sull'aggiornamento del software, consultare le istruzioni disponibili all'interno del kit di aggiornamento.

n Il passaggio da licenza con chiavetta hardware a licenza software comporta l'aggiornamento automatico delle informazioni della chiavetta hardware e la disattivazione della stessa. Dopo aver attivato la licenza software, non è necessario disporre di una chiavetta hardware per eseguire l'applicazione di editing Avid.

Se si esegue l'aggiornamento di una versione con licenza software esistente e l'aggiornamento riguarda una versione principale, è necessario prima disattivare la licenza corrente. In caso contrario, verrà visualizzato un messaggio per richiedere la disattivazione della licenza esistente per potere attivare la nuova licenza software.

n Se l'aggiornamento riguarda una versione di manutenzione (disponibile solo per gli utenti con contratti di assistenza), non occorre disattivare prima la licenza corrente.

Se si esegue l'aggiornamento di una versione con licenza basata su chiavetta hardware e si è titolari di un contratto di assistenza Avid, leggere le istruzioni fornite presso il centro download di Avid o con il kit di aggiornamento prima di effettuare la procedura. Tutti i gli utenti con contratto di assistenza Avid devono utilizzare il file Versioner.avd per aggiornare il software, come descritto nell'ultima procedura di questa sezione. L'addetto Avid fornirà un codice di attivazione per il software. Quando si è in possesso di tale codice, passare al punto 12.

6. Se si sta utilizzando il computer di un'altra persona per eseguire l'attivazione del software, aprire una finestra del browser Web sul secondo computer e andare all'indirizzo http://activate.avid.com.

Viene visualizzata la pagina relativa all'attivazione dei prodotti Avid.

7. Inserire il numero di identificazione del computer nella casella di testo Avid Machine ID (ID computer Avid). L'ID del computer Avid è indicato nella finestra di dialogo Avid Activation (Attivazione Avid).

8. Inserire il numero di identificazione del sistema nella casella di testo System ID (ID sistema). Il numero di identificazione del sistema è riportato sulla copertina interna della presente guida. Se il software Avid è stato acquistato






online, il numero di identificazione del sistema è stato inviato da Avid tramite posta elettronica. È possibile visualizzare il numero di identificazione del sistema accedendo al proprio account di supporto.


10. Fare clic su Submit (Invia).

Il codice di attivazione viene generato automaticamente; viene quindi visualizzata una pagina nella quale viene richiesto di inserire un codice di conferma. Non chiudere la pagina del codice di conferma.

11. Trasferire il codice di attivazione nel sistema che si desidera attivare. È possibile copiare il codice in un file di testo e trasferirlo tramite un dispositivo rimovibile di archiviazione, ad esempio un'unità USB, oppure trasferire i dati tramite la rete.

Se si copia in un file di testo l'intero codice di attivazione indicato nella pagina di attivazione dei prodotti Avid e lo si incolla all'interno della prima casella di testo, le restanti caselle di testo verranno completate automaticamente.

13. Fare clic su Activate (Attiva).



Verrà visualizzato un codice di conferma.


15. Sul computer connesso a Internet, inserire il codice di conferma e fare clic su OK.

n Se non viene visualizzata la casella di testo Confirmation Code (Codice di conferma), fare clic su "Click here to enter your dongle confirmation code" (Fare clic qui per inserire il codice di conferma della chiavetta hardware).

Per eseguire l'aggiornamento dell'applicazione di editing Avid con una chiavetta hardware, effettuare quanto segue:

1. Assicurarsi di aver collegato la chiavetta hardware al sistema di montaggio Avid.

n È possibile attivare l'applicazione tramite la chiavetta hardware solo se tale opzione è disponibile all'interno dello strumento di attivazione.

2. Fare doppio clic su DongleManager.exe

Viene aperta la finestra Dongle Manager (Gestione chiavetta hardware).

3. Fare clic sulla scheda Update (Aggiorna).

4. Fare clic su Open (Apri), quindi selezionare il percorso in cui è stato copiato il file di aggiornamento (.avd) della chiavetta hardware.

5. Selezionare il file di aggiornamento e fare clic su Open (Apri).

6. Fare clic su Update (Aggiorna).

Viene visualizzata la finestra di dialogo Avid Activation (Attivazione Avid). I campi System ID e Serial Number contengono rispettivamente l'ID del sistema e il numero di serie esistenti.

6. Continuare la procedura di attivazione della licenza di aggiornamento descritta nella presente sezione in relazione all'opzione di licenza selezionata al punto 4.

Disattivazione del software

Per eseguire l'applicazione di editing Avid su un altro sistema, è necessario innanzitutto disattivare la licenza software prima di poterla riattivare su un secondo sistema. Il processo di disattivazione si verifica durante l'esecuzione dell'applicazione di editing Avid; tutti i progetti correnti e i bin aperti verranno automaticamente salvati.

Se il sistema dispone di connessione Internet, è possibile riattivare l'applicazione di editing Avid in modo automatico. In alternativa, è necessario riattivare manualmente la licenza software tramite telefono o connessione Internet da un altro computer. Per ulteriori informazioni sull'attivazione del software, consultare la sezione “Attivazione del software” on page 81.

Per disattivare l'applicazione di editing Avid, effettuare quanto segue:

1. Avviare l'applicazione di editing Avid e aprire un progetto.

2. Selezionare Special > Deactivate (Speciale > Disattiva).

Viene visualizzata la finestra di dialogo Deactivate (Disattiva).



t Se si intende utilizzare l'applicazione di editing Avid sullo stesso sistema in un momento successivo, deselezionare l'opzione per la cancellazione dell'ID di sistema e del numero di serie (l'opzione è deselezionata per impostazione predefinita). In questo modo le informazioni relative alla licenza locale verranno mantenute, facilitando la riattivazione della licenza in un secondo momento.

t Se non si desidera più utilizzare il sistema, ad esempio perché si sta procedendo alla sostituzione del computer, selezionare l'opzione per l'eliminazione dell'ID di sistema e del numero di serie. In questo modo le informazioni relative alla licenza locale verranno rimosse dal sistema e nessun altro utente potrà riattivare la licenza.

4. Fare clic su Deactivate (Disattiva).

Al termine della disattivazione verrà visualizzato un messaggio per confermare la corretta disattivazione del software.

5. Fare clic su OK.

Prima della chiusura dell'applicazione di editing Avid, tutti i progetti correnti e i bin aperti verranno salvati.

5 Guía de instalación de aplicaciones de edición Avid

La información más actualizada sobre las aplicaciones de edición Avid está disponible en la versión online del archivo Léame (ReadMe). Siempre debes consultar online las notas de la versión o el archivo Léame (ReadMe) más actualizados, puesto que la versión online se actualiza cada vez que aparece información nueva. Para ver las versiones online, selecciona el archivo Léame (ReadMe) del menú Ayuda (Help) de la aplicación de edición Avid o visita Knowledge Base en www.avid.com/readme.

Instalación del software

Antes de instalar la aplicación de edición, debes desinstalar los controladores de Digi mediante las opciones Agregar/Quitar del Panel de control. Reinicia el sistema y, luego, instala la nueva aplicación de edición. Si no eliminas los controladores de Digi, no se cargarán los plug-ins Audiosuite y es posible que recibas el mensaje de error "Antes de ejecutar este software debes instalar el controlador de dispositivo TPkd y reiniciar el sistema" (This software requires installation of device driver TPkd and a reboot before running) o el mensaje de error "Interfaz DAE NO disponible" (DAE Interface NOT Available). Si estos mensajes de error aparecen en una instalación limpia de un sistema nuevo, instala la revisión KB926255 de Windows Update para resolver el problema.

(Sólo Macintosh) Si la actualización es de una versión anterior de la aplicación de edición para Macintosh, elimina los plug-ins Stereo Mixer.dpm y Surround Mixer.dpm desde la siguiente ubicación: Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins. Si no eliminas estos archivos, posiblemente se produzcan problemas con la herramienta AudioSuite.



En todas las aplicaciones de edición Avid, debes, en primer lugar, iniciar sesión como administrador (no simplemente como usuario con privilegios de administrador), instalar la aplicación e iniciar la aplicación por primera vez como administrador. (Macintosh) Para desinstalar el software de la aplicación de edición Avid:

1. Sal de todas las aplicaciones.

2. Ve a Aplicaciones/Avid_Uninstaller/Aplicación_edición_Avid

3. Haz doble clic en el programa de desinstalación de Aplicación_edición_Avid.

4. Sigue las instrucciones que aparecen en pantalla.

5. Repite el proceso para desinstalar AvidCoreRuntime, AvidDIORuntime y AvidCodecs PE.

Activación del software Avid

Una vez instalado el software, puedes activar la aplicación de edición Avid mediante uno de los siguientes métodos:

• Puedes utilizar una conexión a Internet para activar el software de manera automática. La herramienta de activación de Avid permite activar el software online con el número de identificación del sistema y el número de serie incluidos con el software.

• Puedes utilizar una conexión a Internet para activar la aplicación de edición Avid manualmente. Si el sistema con el cual se ejecuta la aplicación de edición Avid no está conectado a Internet, puedes activar el software con otro ordenador que disponga de conexión a Internet.

• Para activar el software puedes realizar una actualización de una versión con mochila a una con licencia de software. Para más información, consulta “Actualización del software” on page 112.

• Para activar el software puedes realizar una actualización de una versión previamente instalada con licencia de software a una licencia de software nueva. Para más información, consulta “Actualización del software” on page 112.

• Puedes activar el software telefónicamente por medio del servicio de atención al cliente de Avid. Esta opción permite activar la aplicación de edición Avid en caso de que la configuración del sistema no permita acceder a Internet.

• Puedes ejecutar el software durante un período de prueba de 30 días sin necesidad de activarlo. El período de prueba permite acceder a todas las funciones de la aplicación de edición Avid. Al finalizar el período de prueba, puedes optar por comprar el software y activarlo en ese momento.

n Si tienes un Contrato de Soporte de Avid vigente (Avid Support Contract), podrías acceder a la opción de actualizar el software con una clave de aplicación existente (mochila). Para obtener más información, consulta las instrucciones que se proporcionan en el Centro de Descargas de Avid para la actualización pertinente o las instrucciones que se incluyen con el kit de actualización.

c Si cambias la configuración del sistema (por ejemplo, reemplazando el disco duro o actualizando el sistema operativo), primero deberás desactivar el software Avid. Para más información sobre el proceso de desactivación, consulta “Desactivación del software” on page 122.

Activación del softwareDespués de la instalación del software de la aplicación de edición Avid, debes activar la copia de la aplicación.

La herramienta de activación de Avid se inicia la primera vez que utiliza la aplicación de edición Avid. Si utilizas la versión de prueba de 30 días de la aplicación de edición Avid, la herramienta de activación se iniciará cada vez que se abra la aplicación de edición Avid hasta que venza dicho período de prueba.

c La activación utiliza la dirección de hardware de una Administración de interfaz de red (NIC, Network Interface Controller) del sistema, por lo tanto, es importante no modificar la configuración de Ethernet una vez que se haya activado el software. Si necesitas desactivar una o más NIC del sistema, debes hacerlo antes de la activación. Si instalas el software en un ordenador portátil que desactiva automáticamente la NIC (por ejemplo, cuando alterna entre conexiones de Internet inalámbricas y Ethernet), consulta la documentación de tu ordenador para obtener instrucciones sobre cómo cambiar la configuración de NIC del sistema antes de activar el software Avid.

n Si desactivas la aplicación de edición Avid durante el período de prueba de 30 días, dicho período continuará ejecutándose y no se podrá extender el límite de 30 días.


Si actualizas un software que originalmente incluía una clave de aplicación, también denominada "mochila" o "dongle", debes colocar la clave antes de activar el software con la herramienta de activación de Avid (para obtener más información, consulta "Conectar la llave de la aplicación" en la Ayuda). Al actualizar la aplicación de edición Avid de una versión con mochila a una versión sin mochila, la herramienta de activación desactiva la mochila de manera automática cuando se registra la copia del software. Para obtener información sobre la actualización de una aplicación de edición con mochila a una con licencia de software, consulta “Actualización del software” on page 112.

Para activar la aplicación de edición Avid de manera automática:1. Inicia la aplicación de edición Avid.

Se abrirá la herramienta de activación.

3. Haz clic en Continuar (Continue).

online, debes haber recibido el número de identificación del sistema de Avid por correo electrónico. También puedes obtener el número de identificación del sistema iniciando sesión en tu cuenta de soporte.

n Puedes copiar y pegar el número de identificación del sistema y el número de serie desde un archivo de texto en los cuadros de texto correspondientes.

5. Escribe el número de serie en el cuadro de texto Número de serie (Serial Number). El número de serie se encuentra en la parte interior de la cubierta de esta guía. Si compraste el software Avid online, debes haber recibido el número de serie de Avid por correo electrónico. También puedes obtener el número de serie iniciando sesión en tu cuenta de soporte.

6. Si deseas consultar la política de privacidad de Avid, haz clic en Leer política de privacidad (Read Privacy Policy).

b. Haz clic en Siguiente (Next).

Se abre un cuadro de diálogo de registro.

c. Especifica la información de producto y cliente que corresponda. Los campos obligatorios se indican mediante asteriscos (*).

d. Haz clic en Activar (Activate) y Registrar (Register).


9. Haz clic en Aceptar (OK).

Para activar la aplicación de edición Avid manualmente:

1. Inicia la aplicación de edición Avid.


2. Selecciona "Deseo realizar la activación telefónicamente o mediante la conexión a Internet de otro ordenador" (I want to activate by phone or by using another computer’s Internet connection).


Aparecerá el cuadro de diálogo Activación de Avid (Avid Activation).

4. Escribe el número de identificación del sistema en el cuadro de texto Id. del sistema (System ID). El número de identificación del sistema se encuentra en la parte interior de la cubierta de esta guía.


n Puedes copiar y pegar el número de identificación del sistema y el número de serie desde un archivo de texto en los cuadros de texto correspondientes.


6. Si vas a activar el software por teléfono, llama al Centro de Soporte de Avid de tu zona. Los datos de contacto del Centro de Soporte de Avid están disponibles online en http://www.avid.com/US/contact/video.

El representante de Avid pertinente te proporcionará un código de activación del software. Una vez que hayas obtenido el código de activación, continúa con el paso 12.

7. Si estás utilizando otro ordenador para activar el software, en el segundo ordenador, abre un navegador web y entra en http://activate.avid.com.

Se abrirá la página Activación de Avid (Avid Activation).

En la página Activación de Avid (Avid Activation) se genera el código de activación.

12. Transfiere el código de activación al sistema que deseas activar. Puedes copiar el código en un archivo de texto y utilizar un dispositivo de almacenamiento extraíble, como una unidad USB, o bien transferir los datos por medio de la red.

13. En el cuadro de diálogo Activación de Avid (Avid Activation), escribe el código de activación en el cuadro de texto Código de activación (Activation Code). Si copias el código de activación completo recibido en la página de activación de Avid desde un archivo de texto y lo pegas en el primer cuadro de texto, el resto de los cuadros de texto se completa automáticamente.


14. Haz clic en Activar (Activate).



Para utilizar la aplicación de edición Avid durante un período de prueba de 30 días:



2. Selecciona "Deseo ejecutar la versión de prueba completa de [aplicación de edición Avid] durante 30 días" (I want to run a fully-featured, trial version of [the Avid editing application] for 30 days.)


Aparecerá un mensaje que te informará de que el software se activó correctamente. En cualquier momento durante el período de prueba de 30 días, puedes optar por comprar una copia de la aplicación de edición Avid y activarla mediante la herramienta de activación. Si no compras el software, la aplicación de edición Avid se desactiva al vencer el período de prueba de 30 días.

Actualización del software

Puedes actualizar la aplicación de edición Avid a partir de una licencia de software existente o una versión con mochila. Si lo haces desde una versión con mochila y tienes previsto cambiar modelos de productos, el kit de actualización

debe incluir una tarjeta de actualización de mochila, un código de actualización y un código de activación de software. Consulta las instrucciones indicadas en el kit de actualización para actualizar el software.

n Al actualizar de una licencia con mochila a una licencia de software, se actualiza la información de la mochila y ésta se desactiva. Una vez activada la licencia de software, no se necesita la mochila para ejecutar la aplicación de edición Avid.

Si dispones de una actualización para una versión superior y realizas la actualización desde una licencia de software existente, primero deberás desactivar la licencia actual. De lo contrario, aparecerá un mensaje donde se te solicitará que desactives la licencia anterior antes de activar la nueva licencia de software.

n Si la actualización es para una versión de mantenimiento (disponible para los clientes con contratos de soporte calificados), no es necesario desactivar la licencia actual.

Si actualizas la versión con mochila existente y tienes un Contrato de Soporte de Avid vigente, antes de actualizar el sistema lee las instrucciones que se proporcionan en el Centro de Descargas de Avid o las instrucciones que se incluyen con el kit de actualización. Todos los clientes que dispongan de un Contrato de Soporte de Avid deben utilizar el archivo Versioner.avd. para actualizar el software, tal y como se describe en el último procedimiento de este tema. Para actualizar automáticamente la aplicación de edición Avid desde una versión con licencia de software existente:





Aparecerá el cuadro de diálogo Activación de Avid (Avid Activation). El cuadro de texto Id. del sistema (System ID) contiene el número de Id. del sistema.

4. Escribe el número de serie en el cuadro de texto Número de serie (Serial Number). Utiliza el número de serie para la nueva versión del software.

15. En el ordenador conectado a Internet, escribe el código de confirmación y haz clic en Aceptar (OK).

n Si no visualizas el cuadro de texto Código de confirmación (Confirmation Code), haz clic en "Haz clic aquí para introducir el código de confirmación de la mochila" (Click here to enter your dongle confirmation code).

Para actualizar la aplicación de edición Avid con una mochila:

1. Asegúrate de haber conectado la mochila al sistema de edición Avid.

n Sólo podrás activar la aplicación con una mochila si esta opción está disponible en la herramienta de activación.

2. Haz doble clic en DongleManager.exe

Se abre la ventana Administrador de mochilas (Dongle Manager).

3. Haz clic en la ficha Actualizar (Update).

4. Haz clic en Abrir (Open) y ve a la ubicación del archivo de actualización de mochilas (.avd).

5. Selecciona el archivo de actualización y haz clic en Abrir (Open).


6. Haz clic en Actualizar (Update).

La aplicación DongleManager.exe actualiza la mochila y muestra el mensaje "Se ha completado la verificación" (Verification Complete).



8. Selecciona "Deseo activar el software con una mochila" (I want to activate my software using my dongle).




Para actualizar la aplicación de edición Avid mediante el archivo Versioner.avd (sólo para clientes con Contrato de Soporte de Avid):

1. Descarga el archivo Versioner.avd para tu aplicación de edición.

Desactivación del software

Si deseas ejecutar la aplicación de edición Avid en otro sistema, primero, debes desactivar la licencia de software para poder activarla en un segundo sistema. Para desactivar la aplicación de edición Avid:

1. Inicia la aplicación de edición Avid y, luego, abre un proyecto.

ソフトウェアのインストール

編集アプリケーションをインストールする前に、コントロールパネルのプログラムのアンインストールでDigi Drivers をアンインストールする必要があります。システムを起動し、次に新しい編集アプリケーションをインストールします。 Digi Drivers をアンインストールしないとAudiosuite plug-ins をロードできません。その際は「このソフトウェアにはデバイスドライバー TPkd のインストールおよび再起動が必要です」あるいは「DAE インターフェースを利用できません」のいずれかのエラーメッセージが表示されます。新しいシステムの最初のインストールでこれらのメッセージが表示された場合は、Windows Update でホットフィックス KB926255 をインストールしてこの問題を解消します。

ソフトウェアをアップグレードする

お使いの Avid 編集アプリケーションを現在のソフトウェアライセンスあるいはドングルライセンスからアップグレードできます。ドングルのライセンスからアップグレードして製品モデルを変更する場合は、アップグレードキットにはドングルのアップデーターカード、アップグレードコードおよびソフトウェアアクティベーションコードが含まれます。ソフトウェアを更新する場合は、アップグレードキットの説明を参照してください。

n ドングルのライセンスをソフトウェアランセンスにアップグレードすると、ドングル情報を更新してドングルを無効にします。ソフトウェアライセンスで一度アクティベートすると、Avid 編集アプリケーションを使用する際にドングルは必要なくなります。

主なリリースのアップグレードを所有していて、既存のソフトウェアランセンスからアップグレードする場合、最初に現在のライセンスのアクティベートを解除する必要があります。そうしなかった場合、プロンプトが表示され新しいソフトウェアライセンスをアクティベートする前に古いライセンスのアクティベートを解除するよう指示されます。

n そのアップグレードがメンテナンスのリリース（認定されたサポート契約のお客さま用）用の場合は、現在のライセンスのアクティベートを解除する必要はありません。

ソフトウェアのアクティベーションを解除する

Avid 編集アプリケーションを別のシステムで使用する場合、別のシステムでソフトウェアをアクティベートする前にソフトウェアライセンスのアクティベートを解除する必要があります。アクティベーションの解除は Avid 編集アプリケーション使用中に行われますが、アクティベーション解除プロセスで自動的にすべての開いているフォルダやプロジェクトを保存します。

• 您可致电 Avid 客户服务，通过电话激活软件。如系统配置不允许访问 Internet，可使用该选项激活 Avid 剪辑应用程序。

• 不激活该软件可试用 30 天。试用期间可使用 Avid 剪辑应用程序的所有功能。试用期结束时，您可选择购买该软件并在此时激活软件。

n 如果您的 Avid Support Contract （Avid 支持合同）依然有效 , 您可选择利用现有应用程序密钥 (dongle) 升级软件。有关详细信息，请参阅 Avid Download Center （Avid 下载中心）提供的或升级套件随附的升级说明。

激活软件

安装剪辑应用程序软件之后，您必须激活应用程序的副本。

首次启动 Avid 剪辑应用程序时会启动 Avid Activation （Avid 激活）工具。如果您使用的是为期 30 天的试用版 Avid 剪辑应用程序，只有在 30 天试用期满时再启动 Avid 剪辑应用程序，激活工具才会启动。

n 从 dongle 授权升级至软件授权将更新 dongle 信息并停用 dongle。一旦激活软件授权，您不需要 dongle 即可运行 Avid 剪辑应用程序。

如拥有主要版本的升级版，并从现有软件授权升级，您必须先停用当前的授权。否则，系统就会显示一条消息，提示您停用原有的授权后再激活新的软件授权。

n 如果是对维护版本（仅限认可的支持合同客户）升级，您不必停用当前的授权。

软件的停用

如想在另一套系统上运行 Avid 剪辑应用程序，在第二套系统上激活此软件许可证之前必须先将其停用。停用发生在 Avid 剪辑应用程序运行期间，但停用过程会自动保存所有打开的素材屉以及当前的项目。

如系统已接入 Internet，您可重新自动激活 Avid 剪辑应用程序。否则，您应通过电话或使用另一台接入 Internet 的计算机重新激活软件许可证。有关如何激活软件的详细信息，请参阅第 194 页“ 激活软件 ”。

停用 Avid 剪辑应用程序：

1. 启动 Avid 剪辑应用程序，然后打开一个项目。

2. 选择 “Special > Deactivate” （特殊停用）。

随即打开 “Deactivate” （停用）对话框。



t 如打算以后在本系统上使用 Avid 剪辑应用程序，请取消该选项以清除系统 ID 以及序列号信息（默认情况下该选项被取消）这会保留本机许可证信息，以便您可轻易地重新激活许可证。
