Installation for Toto Eco Washer: TCW07 model This bidet kit is suitable for most bottom inlet toilet cisterns and Australian “round style” toilet pans with 140mm mounting-hole centres. 1. Remove your old toilet seat and clean up any ‘yuck’ left on the toilet pan with bleach or CLR and an abrasive pad (use gently), then rinse off and dry. Remove the Toto bidet seat from its packaging and identify the different components of the kit. Isolate the plastic bag containing the 2 black rubber mounting tubes with the stainless steel screws and plastic locating washers. Take the rubber tubes and remove the stainless steel screws. These mounting tubes are the correct length for toilet pans with deep mounting holes; but for most Australian pans these rubbers will need to be made shorter. 2. Using side-cutters or scissors, cut these rubbers where shown in the photos left. If your toilet pan is thicker than about 15mm at the mounting holes; you should make the second cut on these mounting rubbers at the end of the next straight section (so that you only remove the top rounded section). 3. Now push the top part of the rubbers (with the flanges up) down into the mounting holes on the top of the toilet pan. 4. Place the mounting plate on the top of the pan – initially in the rearwards most position and lined up with these rubbers. Place the stainless steel screws with plastic locators through the mounting plate so they protrude through the mounting holes. The photo left shows a mounting plate which has been modified to fit a toilet pan with 150mm hole centers. (We didn’t have a toilet pan with 140mm mounting holes available for these photos)

Installation for Toto Eco Washer: TCW07 model This bidet kit is suitable for most bottom inlet toilet

cisterns and Australian “round style” toilet pans with 140mm mounting-hole centres.

1. Remove your old toilet seat and clean up any ‘yuck’ left on the toilet pan with

bleach or CLR and an abrasive pad (use gently), then rinse off and dry.

2. Using side-cutters or scissors, cut these rubbers where shown in the photos

left. If your toilet pan is thicker than about 15mm at the mounting holes; you should make the second cut on these mounting rubbers at the end of the next straight section (so that you only remove the top rounded section).

3. Now push the top part of the rubbers (with the flanges up) down into the

mounting holes on the top of the toilet pan.

4. Place the mounting plate on the top of the pan – initially in the rearwards

most position and lined up with these rubbers.

5. Screw the bottom halve of the mounting rubbers up onto these screws (from

underneath) as shown and tighten finger tight only. Now place the bidet seat back onto the base. Re-check the position of the front bumpers and re-align the seat slightly if necessary so they are contacting the rim of the toilet pan correctly.

6. Making sure the plastic locating washers are sitting correctly in the base

locating grooves; tighten the stainless screws until firm. The rubbers under the seat should now be compressed as shown in the photo below. Please be aware that your toilet pan is made from fired porcelain, and is subject to irregularities or warping that can occur from the firing process. If the bidet does not sit perfectly flat on the toilet pan, this is not a fault of the bidet seat, but rather due to irregularities in the toilet pan itself.

7. Fit the bidet seat to the base by sliding the seat on over the base until it clicks

on. Now check the contact of the front bumper rubbers with the rim of the toilet pan. You can remove the seat again by pressing the release button (R/H side) and simply sliding the seat off. Unscrew the SS screws and move the base slightly further forward for a better fit (if required).

8. Next, close the stop valve to the cistern tank. Note: If this valve has not been

operated for a long time, it may be difficult to close. If it cannot be closed or leaks it should be replaced. Flush the toilet to empty the tank. It is a good idea to take the top off the tank off at this point for better visibility. Put an old towel under the tap to soak up any water.

9. Unscrew the retaining nuts at both ends of the supply pipe. It is good practice

to hold this plastic fitting on the tank with suitable multi-grip pliers when undoing the nut or the whole assembly may turn in the tank.

10. Lift the pipe out of the stop valve first. (You may have to loosen the mounting

screws and lift the tank slightly to achieve this if your pipe is the solid copper type as shown). Next slide the pipe out of the plastic tank fitting to remove it completely. Be sure to push the tank firmly back down onto its mounting screws if you had to lift it slightly to remove the pipe. Sometimes plumbers install the wall tap directly under the cistern inlet so there is no room to fit the Tee Assembly. In this case it is usually possible to change the cistern inlet float valve to the other side of the tank in order to solve this problem

11. Fit the “T” piece with the tap as shown; screw the retaining nut onto the plastic cistern inlet, being sure the flat rubber sealing washer provided is still in the Tee. Be very careful doing this – the tank inlet fitting is plastic and very easy to cross thread (get the nut screwed on crooked). This fitting may also have been expanded by the previous pipe and seal. Tighten the retaining nut with a suitable spanner so the rubber seal is gripped firmly (hold the plastic inlet fitting with multi-grip pliers to prevent the whole cistern valve turning in the tank). Note: Some Caroma cistern valves are very thin at the end and may have been expanded by the previous seal so that you cannot screw the new ‘T’ piece nut on. The best option here is simply to replace the old Caroma valve with a quality ‘Fluidmaster’ brand replacement float valve. (Available from LuSan Bidets or most plumbing stores) It’s best to remove the flow-restrictor in the inlet of this valve first, and then install the yellow filter (supplied) by pushing all the way in (using pointed-nose pliers).

12. If your cistern inlet is on the right side as in the photos; you will need to

turn the bidet isolating valve with a spanner slightly further (clockwise only) so the outlet is pointing towards the inlet of the bidet seat as in the bottom photo. Turn clockwise only - a maximum 1/8 turn. If you do turn this fitting counter-clockwise, it may leak. You will then have to take it off and reseal using thread tape or other sealing medium. Fit the 450mm long flexible braided pipe to the wall stop valve and to the bottom of the ‘T’ fitting by flexing to suit, and then threading the nuts on, tightening by hand only. Using a spanner, tighten the nuts a further ½ turn only. Do not sharply kink this hose. If a complete loop is required, ensure the hose can’t touch metal or itself during operation.

13. Attach the flexible line from the bidet seat to the outlet of the isolating

tap. Tighten the nut on the flexible pipe by hand only, and then tighten a little further using a spanner. Making sure the bidet operating valve is shut; turn on the water and check for any leaks.

14. Finally you are ready for your first test drive! Note that it is not a good

idea to test the bidet without actually sitting on the toilet as the jet of water will almost certainly saturate the wall opposite the toilet. You can use your cupped hand to briefly test the spray function if you wish.

Helpful operating hints

Open the valve by turning it forward. After the wand has extended and is shooting water, you can rotate this valve further clockwise to increase the water pressure.

You may have to experiment with your seating position until you find the ideal spot where the water stream

does hit the target correctly. Everybody has different body shapes and sizes, and what may be the correct position for one person, may not be right for you.

When you have finished washing, simply rotate the operating knob counter-clockwise until it ‘clicks off’.
