Install Client Security Certificates In order to launch Site Manager, you must have a client security certificate issued by Pearson VUE Support Services (VSS).

Every user must install a client security certificate for each browser on each workstation where Site Manager is launched. This section explains how to request the client security certificate and install it.

Enable TLS 1.0

Before you can download and install a client security certificate from the Pearson VUE Certificate Services website, you must enable TLS 1.0 in your browser as seen below.

1. On the Administration workstation, open Internet Explorer, select the Tools | Internet Options menu and click the Advanced tab in the Internet Options dialog box.

2. Scroll down and locate Use TLS 1.0 and make sure the check box is selected.

4. If you are installing the certificate on Windows 7 you will see a SmartScreen Filter message. Click OK.

Request a Client Security Certificate

Only use this procedure if you have not already received an email with client security certificate information. If you have received the email, proceed to the Download and install the client security certificate section on page 7.

1. On the Administration workstation, open Internet Explorer and navigate to the VSS website at https://vss.pearsonvue.com.

2. Type in the Username, Password and Site ID provided to you in either your welcome kit or in an email sent to you by the technician for your location.

3. Click Login.

4. The Password Expiration Notification window appears. You must provide a new password.

Strong Passwords are required. A password must adhere to the following rules: • Minimum 7 characters and contain three of the following:

• Uppercase English letters (A, B, C, … Z) • Lowercase English letters (a, b, c, … z) • Westernized Arabic numerals (0, 1, 2, … 9) • Special characters (&, *, %, etc.)

• Cannot contain your user name • Must be updated every 30 days • Cannot be repeated within a 366 day period e.g., PCuser_1, Run&Jump, U8Lunch

The password you establish will be used to login to Site Manager, LaunchPad and the Pearson VUE website. You must change the password every 30 days using the VSS website, or Site Manager.

5. You must also supply and maintain two security questions.

Security questions must be maintained as a set. If you update one question you must update both questions. There is no restriction on reusing questions and answers.

6. Select the First Security Question from the drop-down list.

7. Type the answer to the security question in the First Answer field.

The answers are not case sensitive, but if you forget your password you must tell VSS the answer to your questions in order to generate a new password. Use discretion in your answers.

8. Select the Second Security Question from the drop-down list and type the answer to the question in the Second Answer field.

9. Click Save Changes.

If you violate any of the password rules, one of the following messages will be displayed.

Cannot contain username Must be at least 7 characters long

Must contain 3 out of 4 attributes: upper case, lower case, numbers and special characters

Cannot reuse password that has been used in the past year

10. If you violate any of the rules, click OK.

11. Fix your password and click Save Changes.

12. Click Yes in the Security Information message dialog box.

The VSS website home page appears.

13. Scroll down to the System Stats section and click the Client Security Certificate file link.

14. Click Request a Client Certificate in the Client Certificate Request Utility window.

A message displays indicating your request has been sent.

15. Once you have requested the Client Security Certificate, you must call your local VSS representative. Have your Site ID # ready, VSS will ask for it. Tell them you requested a client security certificate for a Zero Footprint Test Center and you need them to approve your request. After VSS has approved the request you will receive an email sent to the email address listed for your site.

Download and install the client security certificate

1. In the Pearson VUE Certificate Enrollment email, click the https://crl.pearsonvue.com/certsrv/ link to access the Pearson VUE Certificate Services website.

2. Click Enroll Now.

3. Enter your User ID, Group ID, and PIN from the email into the appropriate fields in the Enter Enrollment Details from Enrollment email window and click Next.

4. Click OK when the Web Access Confirmation dialog box appears.

5. Verify that the User ID, Group ID and PIN match the email and click Submit in the Review Information window.

6. Click Yes in the Web Access Confirmation dialog box.

7. Click the Install this certificate link in the Install Certificate window.

The Certificate Installed message appears. Your certificate is successfully installed.
