Hyderabad to talk about her

teacher Prof ML Saikumar,

Institute of Public

Enterprise. He guided his

students beyond the

syllabus – about their

approach to their career and

profession and always

expected only the best from

them. Keerthi and her

friend from Bhoj Reddy

Engineering College

appreciated their teacher

In olden days, students learnt a way of life from their teachers, not just the subject. Nowadays,

education has become a race to be run, instead of assimilation of knowledge. The worth of

learning is only measured in terms of what it gets for the student. While the society is paying

heavily for education, the returns in terms of commitment of teachers is less. We as a community

of teachers need to accept and look into this. – Dr S Nagabhushana Rao, Chief Guest

from his students, figured

in these talks.

Safura, a student of G

Narayanamma Institute of

Technology and Science

spoke about two of her

teachers from ECE dept.

Prof Ch Ganapathi

Reddy, she said paid

attention to all the

components of the dept,

the students, the teachers

and the staff. Apart from

his classroom teaching,

these qualities are necessary

to run the dept efficiently

and effectively.

About Prof CR Sarma, she

said, that he never lost his

temper and always expected

his students to stretch

beyond their expectations.

Once when he was angry at

her work, she knew that if

Sarma Sir was angry, then

there must be something

she didn’t do right.

Krishna Kumari’s

patience. She is their role

model.

Mr YV Gopala Krishna

Murthy of ACE Academy

and Engineering College is

known for his

motivational skills. He can

make even an average

student crack the GATE.

He has been able to bring

his college into city’s top

colleges within few years

of establishment. This is

what his students had to

say.

Mr KSR Sarma is an

encyclopedia of marketing

and his presentations are

fabulous said his student

Kuldeep from Pragathi

Mahavidyalaya. An NCC

Officer, Col SKD Patnaik was

another nominee from the

same college. Bharath

Some Inspiring Teachers - Schools

People remember their

Ramesh Kandikonda of

SchoolCanvas.com conducted a

lively JAM session for the

audience. He offered a prize to

anyone who could speak about

their school in Telugu for one

minute without using English

words. It was hilarious to see

how English has pervaded our

native language. Two people did

succeed in the attempt. The

biggest surprise was Madhan

Kumar and Siddhartha Ghosh

(both non-Telugus) speaking

quite well in Telugu.

teacher Sujata Misra. She

remembers how as a child

she was afraid of public

speaking and how this

teacher carried her to the

confidence to overcome

her stage fear.

said Sandhya Sripada, an

ec-student.

Vasavi Public School

Indumathi Srinath’s

praise for her teacher. The

In the first round, contestants were asked to write about their teaching experience. In the second round they were asked interesting questions like – what would you do if the students threw chalk at you, what is your most disapoointing or happiest moment, what would you do if a student doesn’t understand in spite of your explanation, what will make you happier – a dull student passing an exam or a bright student topping the class. Sangeetha conducted the event under the guidance of Harini Bhandaru of Analyzers Group

Started three years ago, already 1600 teacher members on-line, 28 colleges and 15 schools touched by the training. Long term projects are being taken up for schools and colleges. Continuous support and multiple initiatives will be included for holistic and sustainable change.
