To secure America’s global competitiveness,
MATHCOUNTS inspires excellence, confidence,
and curiosity in U.S. middle school students through
fun and challenging math programs.
MATHCOUNTS —is the premiere nationwide coaching, competition and
enrichment program that motivates and rewards middle school students for math achievement. It includes participants in all 50 states, the District of
Columbia, U.S. Territories, and State Department
and Defense Department schools.

MATHCOUNTS Club Program
The Competition Program is an annual
showcase for the knowledge, skill, speed, and
teamwork of America's most gifted and
dedicated young mathematicians.
1 National Champion is determined at the National Competition Countdown Round
48,000 middle schools receive free curriculum materials every year
100,000 students in 6,000 schools take part in intra-school competitions
40,000 students advance to one of 500 inter-school chapter
competitions in February
57 State competitions take place in March
228 stellar students advance to the National Competition each May
The free Club Program provides the
structure, activities and prizes for
teachers to coach math clubs in their
schools and encourages participation and
inclusion of students of all ability levels.
Three levels of the MCP — Bronze level – All schools who enroll a club
–School receives free Club-in-a-Box Resource Kit
Silver level – Clubs that have at least 12* students take part in 5 Monthly Challenges during the year
–Student receives certificate–School receives trophy–Club entered into drawing for $250 gift cards
Gold level – Clubs that have at least 12* students pass the Ultimate Challenge
–All of silver level prizes, plus banner for the school–Entry into drawing for $500 gift cards and grand prize of all-expenses paid trip for teacher and 4 students to National Competition in Orlando
