The challenge

After buying the Town Green Inn from its previous owners, the Seafood Pub Company invested in an extensive refurbishment

of the Town Green Lane site and changed its name to the Town Green Brasserie.

They were keen to retain some of the original fittings at the Town Green Brasserie, such as black and white chequerboard

tiles and oak flooring. They wanted to complement these existing features with some French inspired accessories such as a

bronze bar and wine wall, antique mirrors and pictures.

Carrying this brasserie theme on in the lighting was also important, as was using lighting to create a relaxed atmosphere for

diners and drinkers alike.

The solution

Chantelle Lighting had designed and manufactured lighting

for some of the Seafood Pub Company’s previous sites so had

a good understanding of their requirements for the Town Green

Brasserie.

Following a visit to Chantelle Lighting’s factory, the Seafood Pub

Company’s managing director Joycelyn Neve and executive

chairman Andrew McLean found that the new Lumière range

fitted their design brief perfectly.

“The French gold finish of the lights in the new Lumière range was

exactly what we were looking for to complement other fittings at

the Town Green,” said Joycelyn Neve. “We also loved the fact

that there are a number of different sizes and shapes of fittings

in the range so we could mix and match them throughout the

venue, with a uniformed look.”

Grandé fittings were chosen to go above tables near the

windows whilst Tilt and Tall wall fittings were used to highlight

some of the antique pictures and mirrors on the walls and to

create a welcoming atmosphere for diners.

The Result

“We are delighted with the finished look of the Town Green

Brasserie,” added Joycelyn. “All of the fittings we chose combine

perfectly to create a modern yet classic feel at the site.
