Change The GameLearning From Difference

Create Differentiators

Selection 1

Learn or Die allows the reader to not only to visualize the future, but also, and more importantly, to create the future by unleashing the power and potential of building a learning organization. It has been demonstrated that strategies, systems and processes can be copied by others, yet a company's people, and the way they learn, are true differentiators. Ed Hess captures the essence of a high performing organization and shares his "secret sauce" through an actionable blueprint for becoming a leading-edge learner and creating a high performing organization.

Selection 2

Excellent book for changing your paradym about learning. Ed combines a tremendous amount of cognitive subjects and synthesizing them with organizational theory. Must read for all senior leaders. As a military veteran I can appreciate the lessons learned and combining the military and commercial business perspectives.

Self-awarenessLearningDiscipline

Selection 1

Coordinating ancient Chinese psycho-social spirituality (Confucianism) with modern System disciplines (based, in large part, on W.E. Demming's brilliance) in one incredible volume, Senge has laid down a gauntlet in System's process control for future leaders to master.

Selection 2

This book explains a lot not only in a business environment, but also government, family, and anywhere else where several humans must get along and get the job done. Well written and full of examples. Might even explain why the latest election turned out the way it did (and the Russians have nothing to do with it!)

Mastery Of The DetailsShape BehaviorExperimenting

Selection 1

Finally a book written on learning organizations that moves BEYOND theory and academic jargon to concrete actions and examples. I've read and researched a lot and find Garvin's commitment to engineering a learning organization to be most helpful for practitioners. If you are in the CLO role or interested in what it LOOKS like to gain a competitive advantage by learning faster than your competition, this is a must read.
