Benefits may not be provided by a UCLA donor, booster or fan directly to a student-athlete – All donations must go through UCLA Athletics, either through the Development Office or with advance approval from the Athletics Compliance Office. What is the best way to support UCLA student-athletes under NCAA rules? • Continue your financial support through the Wooden Athletic Club and/or other fundraising initiatives, including scholarship endowments and capital campaigns. • Estate and planned gifts, including gifts of property. • Buy season tickets and support Bruin teams from the stands. • Provide employment for a UCLA student-athlete. Such employment must be approved by the Compliance Office and compensation must be for work actually performed and at a rate commensurate with similar jobs in the area. • “Ask before acting” – Contacting the Compliance Office with any questions you may have about NCAA rules. All donors to UCLA Athletics and Wooden Athletic Fund members are defined as boosters under NCAA rules. Once identified as a booster, that status remains forever and NCAA rules will always apply to you. Therefore, “ask before acting” is an important way for all of us to keep UCLA student-athletes eligible and on the field, on the court or in the pool. Questions about the above or NCAA rules? Please do not hesitate to contact Dan Goldberg, Assistant Athletic Director Compliance at (310) 794-8813 or [email protected]. UCLA ATHLETICS’ COMPLIANCE CORNER UNLV Football Game Premium Experience Experience the UCLA Football Home Opener in style! All proceeds raised through this auction go towards supporting the Wooden Athletic Fund and UCLA Athletics’ 700+ student athletes. Hurry! This auction end time is tomorrow, Friday, September 2, 2016, at 5:00pm PT. Individual Sport Giving Each of UCLA’s 25 intercollegiate athletics teams has a fund available for fans to directly support the programs about which they are most passionate. Every sport-specific gift is important and has a positive impact on each student-athlete on that team. As a donor, the benefits offered for gifts made to a specific sport vary by sport and gift amount. However, donors who contribute $25,000 or more to a single sport will also be recognized with non-seating Wooden Athletic Fund member benefits at the Director’s Circle level, and donors who contribute $50,000 or more to a single sport will be recognized with non-seating Wooden Athletic Fund member benefits at the John R. Wooden Benefactor level for that membership year. Wooden Athletic Fund benefits for priority season tickets are offered only for gifts directed specifically to the Wooden Athletic fund. WAY OF GIVING “My time at UCLA has been filled with wonderful experiences and countless opportunities on and off the field. Our gracious donors have presented us with the resources we need in order to succeed in everything we do. My teammates and I can't begin to thank them enough for their generosity and endless support. Being able to represent the Bruins is such an honor and privilege that I have dreamed of my entire life, and it was only made possible with the help of our amazing donors.” Neema Barbod Finance Manager What is your favorite college sport to follow? Football. What is your favorite pro sport to follow? Soccer. What is your favorite sport to play? Basketball and Pai Gow Poker. Since you began working at UCLA, what sport have you gotten to like that you never thought you would like? Water Polo and Gymnastics. What is your favorite kind of music? Favorite group, band, or musician? Right now I have been listening to a combination of classic rock, a little soul and some bluegrass mixed in there. Favorite musician of all time would have to be the one and only King of Pop…Michael Jackson. Where would you like to travel to that you’ve never been to before? Dublin, Ireland to pay tribute to Arthur Guinness at St. James’s Gate. Cat person or dog person? Dogs.....English Bulldog. What was your high school mascot? Warriors. Unique fact about yourself? In the summer of 1995, I earned a perfect “10.0” from a panel of judges (my elementary school friends) at our local community pool for the perfect belly flop. I believe my perfect score is still the only 10.0 ever given out during summer vacation competition for the 10-12 year old age group. CLICK HERE TO VIEW PHOTOS FROM THE 2016 FOOTBALL KICKOFF DINNER CLICK HERE FOR A RECAP OF UCLA ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE 2016 RIO OLYMPICS Football Kickoff Dinner – August 24, 2016 On August 24th, Head Coach Jim Mora, UCLA Athletics and Director of Athletics Dan Guerrero and his wife Anne Marie were hosts to over 350 Wooden Athletic Fund members and UCLA Football coaches and staff at the annual 2016 UCLA Football Kickoff Dinner. The special evening began with a reception where “Bruin Specialty” drinks were served by San Pedro Brewing Company. Over 20 senior football student-athletes and Bruin football staff mingled with guests, and photos were taken of all guests entering the event. After dinner was underway, Head Coach Jim Mora welcomed guests and introduced all UCLA Football coaches and staff. Each senior student-athlete spoke about what made their time as members of the Bruin football team special to them. Attended by Wooden Athletic Fund, Then Now Forever Fund, and Wasserman Football Center donors, the evening was a wonderful way to kick off the 2016 season and hear Coach Mora’s inside preview of the upcoming season. Guests left the event with a souvenir UCLA Football pilsner glass. Complimentary admission to this event is offered to all Then Now Forever Fund donors ($1,000+), WAF members ($25,000+) and Wasserman Football Center donors ($25,000+). If you would like more information on this and future WAF and/or UCLA Football events, please call the Wooden Athletic Fund Office at 310-206-3302, or email [email protected]. EVENT RECAP UCLA IN THE 2016 OLYMPICS All Bruin Olympians to Be Honored at Stanford Football Game – Sept. 24, 2016 The 36 UCLA-affiliated athletes and coaches who participated in the 2016 Rio Olympics returned home with many great stories, newfound friendships, and most important of all, nine medals — six of them gold! Incoming, current, and former Bruin student-athletes, as well as current and former coaches represented 11 countries — Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Singapore, and the United States. UCLA’s rich Olympic history includes having at least one competitor in every Olympics since 1920 (with one exception) and has won a gold medal in every Olympics they have competed in since 1932. Bruin Olympians total 424, almost 300 of whom competed in multiple Olympics. After the 2016 Rio games, UCLA now has a count of 261 medals: 133 gold, 66 silver, and 62 bronze; ranking seventh among all universities. To honor this great history and the Bruins who have competed, every UCLA Olympian has been invited to a weekend of festivities surrounding the UCLA vs. Stanford football game at the Rose Bowl on September 24, 2016. The weekend’s events will begin with a Friday night dinner held at a private residence in Brentwood. It will continue with a tailgate at an exclusive pregame hospitality area, entrance to the UCLA vs. Stanford football game, and will culminate in their being honored at halftime and recognized for their outstanding achievements as world-class Olympians. For more information about the Olympians’ celebration and events, please call (310) 206-3302, or email [email protected]. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION ON UCLA FOOTBALL UCLA Football Home Opener – September 10, 2016 Don’t miss the “must-see” first home football game of the 2016 season! UCLA Football will play host to the UNLV Rebels on September 10th at their home opener at the Rose Bowl. Prior to the game, as for all games, there will be plenty of tailgating with friends and fellow Bruin fans. UCLA’s Fan Zone, in Area H of the Rose Bowl, is well equipped with food, beverages, games, and good times for all. Watch for the UCLA Spirit Squad and UCLA Band to rev up fans, and don’t forget to be there for the Bruin players and coaches as they walk through the stadium grounds on their way into the Rose Bowl. Besides being picked to win the Pac-12 South Division, UCLA is already well ensconced in watch lists. Sophomore quarterback Josh Rosen is on the watch list for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award, as well as the Walter Camp Football Foundation for the 2016 Player of the Year Award. Ishmael Adams has been named to the Paul Hornung Award watch list for the nation’s most versatile player, while Jaleel Wadood has been placed on the watch list for the Jim Thorpe Award for the nation’s best defensive back. With Head Coach Jim Mora on college football’s most coveted coaching award’s watch list, the Bobby Dodd Trophy, you know the Bruins’ first run out of the tunnel on their home turf will be an exciting one. And don’t forget to stick around after this game for the post-game fireworks display! How to Support UCLA Athletics and Student-Athletes

As you may know, an extra benefit is any special gift or arrangement provided to a student-athlete, or student-athlete’s family member or friend that is not otherwise available to the general student body.

“My time at UCLA has been filled with wonderful experiences and countless opportunities on and off the field. Our gracious donors have presented us with the resources we need in order to succeed in everything we do. My teammates and I can't begin to thank them enough for their generosity and endless support. Being able to represent the Bruins is such an honor and privilege that I have dreamed of my entire life, and it was only made possible with the help of our amazing donors.”

What is your favorite college sport to follow? Favorite group, band, or

musician? Right now I have been listening to a combination of classic rock, a little soul and some bluegrass mixed in there. Favorite musician of all time would have to be the one and only King of Pop…Michael Jackson.Where would you like to travel to that you’ve never been to before? Dublin, Ireland to pay tribute to Arthur Guinness at St. James’s Gate.Cat person or dog person? Dogs.....English Bulldog. What was your high school mascot? Warriors. Unique fact about yourself? In the summer of 1995, I earned a perfect “10.0” from a panel of judges (my elementary school friends) at our local community pool for the perfect belly flop. I believe my perfect score is still the only 10.0 ever given out during summer vacation competition for the 10-12 year old age group.

Football Kickoff Dinner – August 24, 2016 On August 24th, Head Coach Jim Mora, UCLA Athletics and Director of Athletics Dan Guerrero and his wife Anne Marie were hosts to over 350 Wooden Athletic Fund members and UCLA Football coaches and staff at the annual 2016 UCLA Football Kickoff Dinner.

All Bruin Olympians to Be Honored at Stanford Football Game – Sept. 24, 2016

The 36 UCLA-affiliated athletes and coaches who participated in the 2016 Rio Olympics returned home with many great stories, newfound friendships, and most important of all, nine medals — six of them gold!

UCLA Football Home Opener – September 10, 2016 Don’t miss the “must-see” first home football game of the 2016 season!

For more information on how you can become a UCLA Football season ticket holder or obtain single game tickets to UCLA Football vs. UNLV, please call our Ticket Sales Office at 310-206-5991.
