For an audio file to insert into a presentation, choose Sound from File. PowerPoint 2007 supports a number of Audio file formats including AIF, AU, MID, RMI, MP3, WAV, and WMA.

Select Sound from Clip Organizer to search Microsoft Online collections. These are free sounds. In the search prompt type in, how to find free sounds on the Internet. or type a search word.

Insert a music CD into your computer. PowerPoint is able play it during the presentation.

Use a microphone to record audio into your presentation. This is an attractive feature if you have a commercial CD and you only want to play a specific part of it.

Record your own audio. Consider making a dedicated recording for each slide.

“Once you have inserted audio into the presentation using any of these methods, you’ll see a small little audio icon in the slide. Click on that and you be able to see a Sound Tools tab at

the very top.”

“The Sound Tools bar allows you to configure the settings for the sound that you just inserted. Preview the sound by clicking on the green button at the far left. Adjust the volume of the sound to Low, Medium, High, or Mute.”

The Hide During Show checkbox will hide the audio icon.

The Loop Until Stopped box will continuously play the audio file.
