It is a special feeling that most of us don’t know (anymore): pure white, untouched snow in chilling cold and absolute silence. The perfectly exotic setting for our adventure at the Arctic Circle.

February, with already longer days, lots of snow and ample opportunity to experience the Aurora Borealis is the perfect month for this INSEAD 93 promotion long weekend journey to Finnish Lapland.

On snowshoes, skis, snowmobiles and Huskie dogsleds we venture through the vast and virgin landscapes. After a day out in the cold we reward ourselves with a traditional Sauna, enjoy exquisite local cuisine and the inviting comfort of our Chalets.

We will immerse in the warm culture and traditions of the people, learn to prepare delicious food from local ingredients and the skills of the regional Reindeer herders. An adventure and experience like no other shared among INSEAD friends.

Day 3 Riisitunturi Huskie experience / Oivangin Chalet Full day Huskie excursion through Riisitunturi National Park / traditional Sauna w. dinner

Snowmobile Safari Upon arrival at Kuusamo Airport, we will take care of the transfer to our Chalet ourselves - riding through a winter wonderland of forests and lakes. Our wilderness excursion to the Russian border will also be on snowmobiles. Level: easy to moderate

Huskie Tour A magic Huskie excursion through the breathtaking scenery of Riisitunturi National Park. Hot lunch by the campfire en route. Challenge Weather dependent Duration 3 - 4 Hours Level easy

Sauna and Northern Lights Experience Experience Sauna is the favorite pastime of the Finns, which we will enjoy at a special location while chasing Northern Lights that are particularly bright without air or light pollution. Duration ca. 3 - 4 hours

Arctic Circle Snowshoe Excursion Day trip to Oulanka National Park at the Arctic Circle across frozen rivers and untouched snow fields. Outdoor lunch served among unforgettable scenery. Challenge Hilly terrain, passages in deep snow Duration 4 to 5 hours Level moderate River Floating Experience Downstream in icy waters and through dreamlike landscapes (protected by drysuits) Challenge Breaking through the ice and immersing into the cold water of the lake to start the excursion Duration/Level 3 - 4 hours altogether / easy

Reindeer Experience and Lapland Challenge Reindeer immersion and a little fun challenge on our last day testing the skills and knowledge acquired during our adventure.
