Local Farmacy Rx “The goal of the Farmacy Rx education is to empower participants to
develop healthier shopping, cooking, and eating habits. By the conclusion of the program, participants will have acquired new knowledge of diet and
nutrition, learned new cooking skills, and gained experience in purchasing, storing and preparing healthy foods.”

Who can participate?❏ Motivated Families looking to increase their fruit
and vegetable budgets up to $35.00 per week❏ Want to learn healthy meal preparation❏ Are at risk for developing a diet related disease❏ Have children between the ages of 6 and 12❏ Have a child who qualifies for Colorado Medicaid
What do families receive?❏ Family Friendly cooking workshop and nutritional
education classes.❏ Healthy recipe ideas using local fruits
and/vegetables.❏ Up to $420.00 in Local Farmacy Bucks to purchase
fruit and vegetables at the Montrose Farmers Market.

Each Participant has the following in their menu items:• No trans fat, no modified fats or MSG• At least one serving of vegetables in each meal• At least two ingredients in each menu item that camefrom a local source
