INNERLIFE WEEKLY PROGRAM—TWENTY 17//

BE HOLY “……...Work at living a holy life,

for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.” Heb 12:14 Holiness is the most important thing we can experience and understand in God. Holiness is a magnificent way of life. It is our position and our commission. Christ died to make us holy and empowered us to live out a holy life. To remove the sin that made us unholy and make us perfect in our position under His blood. God is Holy and everything He is comes out of His Holiness. His Spirit is called “Holy Spirit”, His Word, the scripture is the ‘Holy Bible’. His angels, are the “Holy Angels”, the Law was called the “Holy Law.” When the prophet Isaiah was moved by the spirit and saw into heaven (Is 6:2-3), he saw the seraphim covering their face and feet and crying out continually. “Holy, Holy, Holy”. As soon as they finished crying it out, they began calling out again how Holy God is! They never cease saying how Holy He is. Many words can describe God and define His attributes. The bible declares God as Light, and God is Love. He is just, kind, merciful, powerful…..the list goes on forever because He is truly so amazing. But above all things, God is Holy. “For the Scriptures say, “The One who has called you is holy; you also be holy in all your conduct because it is written, Be holy because I Am Holy” 1 Peter 1:16 This is a holy command from a holy God. It’s not negotiable, it is God’s call and desire for us. He always wanted a holy nation, a holy people and He made a perfect plan to give us His Holiness through Christ so we can live holy on earth through His Spirit. The Hebrew word for ‘holy’ means, to be ‘separated.’ The Greek word is ‘hagios’ which means ‘set apart for God, to be exclusively His.” God would never call us to be something we could not be. That would be cruel. We can live holy in an unholy world because we’ve been made holy in Christ. We stand holy but can pursue and go after the holy lifestyle exactly as Christ did. We have the right and the power to, if we choose. Our position and spiritual condition is holy and so if we walk setting our mind on the spirit we can behave and live holy in our conduct. We are called to work at living holy. To be separate from the world’s influence and be perfect like God in our thinking, speaking, and all areas of our living. Only those who walk holy will see God. Be exclusive His and you will see His face and presence now and in eternity!
