Initial Album Cover Ideas

These are images we ‘screenshotted’ from our video footage. We felt that these looked appealing, as well as having relevance to the music video itself, which is important in album artwork.

We liked that the focal point of these images was the main character and the boom box, which relates to the music video’s main prop.

The graffiti artwork on the walls was featured in our music video. We liked the urban connotations of this and felt it fit with the conventions of dance music and therefore was extremely apt.

We intended the boom box being the focal point of the album imagery. In this case, it contrasted against the natural surroundings of grass and trees, unlike the urban setting seen in the graffiti artwork. The focus of the camera also draws attention to the boom box in the centre of the image, ensuring the viewer is aware of its purpose.

We shot these images outside of an abandoned building. We found broken glass and used this to present urban decay which is relatable to the young listeners of the track. We continued to use the boom box as the image focus as we have in our other initial ideas.
