In-house INIS database • Some issues in ICS

– Sometimes connection is slow or not available– Not useful for bibliometric study because of limit

of downloadable records and it is not easy for users to click on the checkbox to export many records

– Accurate number of search result is not available– Search by primary subject category, country of

input, etc is not available– Search request number is not available in query– ICS always searches full text as well as

bibliographic information, it is convenient but it sometimes searches irrelevant information

→ Develop In-house INIS database for complimentary system to ICS

Archive information of TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi NPS Accident

• Start to provide reference information about Fukushima Daiichi NPS accident in April, 2011 “Special website on Fukushima Accident reference information”

• Increase contents such as JAEA’s R&D results, Useful bibliographies, Reports of investigation committee, etc

Page 10: INIS and Fukushima Nuclear Accident Archive

• Many information other than conventional literature are published but difficult to cover, such as Internet information, oral presentation information at the meetings, etc

• Start to incorporate Internet information as well as oral presentation information at the meetings into the archive system “ Fukushima Nuclear Accident Archive” (launched on 23th June, 2014)

Ensure access to the Internet Information in cooperation with NDL

• Cooperate with the Web Archiving Project (WARP) by NDL to ensure permanent access to Internet information

• WARP is the National Diet Library’s Web Archiving Project to archive Japanese official institutions’ websites: the government, the diet, the courts, local governments, independent administrative organizations etc.

Apply IAEA Taxonomy for classification

• IAEA developed taxonomy for major nuclear accidents

• Assign IAEA taxonomy to organize the collected information systematically

• IAEA taxonomy is working version and we will revise it to appropriately classify the information and give feedback to the IAEA

Future plan

20

• Enlarge contents of web information within Japan

• Improve user interface, functionality - OAI-PMH, Cross-search with INIS, etc • Provide metadata for Great East Japan

Earthquake Archive “HINAGIKU” operated by the National Diet Library (http://kn.ndl.go.jp/?language=en) as well as INIS Database

- Format conversion, indexing, etc are necessary• Data flagging for retrieving useful data - Monitoring data, Plant parameters, etc• Collect web information outside Japan
