Missionary visits of our founder Cry of the excluded – Sao Paulo, Brazil With the poor and for the poor Cry of the excluded – Sao Paulo, SP Brazil Our Fraternity participated in the “Cry of the excluded” held in Sao Paulo. Our Founder, together with our religious and lay-associates, participated in Holy Mass at the Cathedral of Se’ and followed the assembly to the park of Ipranga. In the same week, during an operation of Vígília na Praça da Sé Street Ministry in the USA “cleansing” done by some public agencies, our brothers and sisters did not ignore the violence suffered by those who are homeless in the center of the city. We passed whole nights in the streets in the state of alert so that there would be no more aggressions to our homeless brothers. He was with our community of lay-asso- ciates in New York and Boston, praying and encouraging them to continue their apostolic and evangelizing work. He also passed through Kansas City, where he was with our religious community who live there. He celebrated the entrance into the postulancy of Brother Cassio and the At the end of August and the beginning of September, our brothers and sisters in Bolivia were in the cities of Wata and Sucre. They visited schools, prayed with families, and were together with young people who were participating in cat- echism. They were welcomed by the lo- cal community and Fr. Leo. There were Rescue-Me encounters heldin Cascavel, Manaus, Aracaju, Sao Luiz,Manduri, Franca and Assuncao, ParaguayThere were around 900 young peoplewho participated in the encounters.

11th vigil of young adorers

In all of our missions, religious, lay-associates, friends and collaborators wereunited around the Altar to celebrate theFeast of the Holy Archangel. On theoccasion, many who had preparedthemselves with prayers during the lent,consecrated themselves to the chief of theCelestial Army. In some of our missionhouses the end of drug and alcoholtreatment of some of our sheltered menwas celebrated also.

Rio de Janeiro: On the feast of the exal-tation of the cross, our Fraternity unitedwith thousands of youth who participatedin the 11th vigil of young adorers at theParish Our Lady of the Conception, inSanta Cruz, that began after Holy Mass,when the Apostolic Nuntio of Brazil,Bishop Giovanni D’Aniello, together withArchbishop Orani Joao Tempesta, andother bishops and priests, walked in pro-cession with Jesus in the Blessed Sacra-ment.

“Sentire cum Ecclesia”

Sao Paulo: Our Fraternity was presentat the XXV Hallel, in Franca. Duringthree days they had talks, adorations,prayers of praise, marian moments andHoly Mass. Our brothers and sisterswere among the people living the themeof this holy jubilee year: “Make yourwork known, O Lord”. (Hab 3,2b)

Curitiba: The Fraternity was present inthe encounter prepared by the CNBB forCongregations, Institutes, and newcommunities who work with youth. Theprincipal objective was to unite all of thedifferent expressions and say that theChurch has a place for all: “Unity indiversity”.

Vocational EncounterAround 120 youth participated invocational encounters this month led byour Fraternity. The encounters were heldin Campo Mourao, Parana, Brazil;Augusto Correia, Para, Brazil; andAssuncao, Paraguay, with the objectiveto lead the participants to a personalencounter with Christ and to learn aboutour charism.

Recife: On the 18th, the mission in Recifehad the grace to receive the pastoral visitof Archbishop Antonio FernandoSaburido, who celebrated Holy Mass.

Continuing FormationOn the 22nd and 23rd of September, thebrothers and sisters of the region,Immaculate Conception, united in Foz doIguacu, Parana, to meditate about thechallenges of their missions. There weremoments of prayer and group sharingduring the meditation. On Sunday theyhad a meeting with the ministers of theregion to talk about subjects pertinent tothe missions. The retreat was finalizedwith Holy Mass presided by Fr. RaphaelEstevao, pjc.In a Mass celebrated by Fr. Nilton, on

the 5th of Sep., the chapel of the MissionHouse Saint Isabel of Hungary wasinaugurated: “Pannis Angelorum”, with thesolemn enthronement of the BlessedSacrament. The mission in Teixeira deFreitas received the visit of our Co-founder, Sister Serva das Chagas. Onthe occasion of her visit their chapel wasreinaugurated during Holy Mass presidedby Bishop Carlos Alberto dos Santos.
