Office 2016 for Mac: Issues with EndNote TabThere are a number of reasons why the EndNote tab might not show in Word 2016 on the Mac. The following are some of them:

Ensure that the version of EndNote you are running is compatible with Office 2016.

1. Look under the EndNote X7 menu for the “About EndNote” details.

2. You need to be using EndNote X7.5 or later

Ensure that the version of word that you are using is compatible with EndNote.1. Look under the Word menu for “About Word”, clicking on this item will give you

the details you require.

2. You need to have a minimum of Version 15.18 for the tab to show

Update your applications if they do not fulfil these requirements.1. In Word go to the Help menu > Check for updates 2. EndNote X7 > Check for updates3. When you have updated both applications (after which you will be required to

close them), reopen both applications and if this has been the issue then the EndNote tab will appear.

If this does not fix the issue, then there are two other things to check. 1. Word > Tools > Templates and add ins

2. Check that the CWYW files are ticked, if not, tick them and click OK.

3. If the files are not showing in the “templates and add ins” box continue to the next step.

Running Customizer in EndNote X7 1. EndNote X7 > Customizer

2. Tick the Cite While You Write box and then click next.

2. You may get a request for access to the “.plist”. Click “Grant Access”.
