CBHS SCHOOL HALL HIRE – INFORMATION FOR USERS

ALL PRICES ARE EXCLUSIVE OF GST AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

REQUEST TO USE THE SCHOOL HALL A ‘Request to Hire’ application can be found on the CBHS website and can be emailed to the school or sent in hard copy. All users, their function and purpose of hire must align with the values and strategic direction of Christchurch Boys’ High School. This will be determined by the Headmaster or his delegated representative SCHOOL HALL CAPACITY

HIRE RATES (Discussion about rates can be directed to the Senior Master, Operations.)

Notes: 1. A community group is defined as a group who is ‘not for profit’ whose prime aim is to deliver community benefits. 2. These rates are correct at 30 May 2017 and may be subject to change. Please confirm before entering into an Agreement to Hire.

Curriculum Breakdown

• Reduction of carparks at main entry. Enhance welcome area. Seating for ceremonial entry and recognition of Tangata whenua.

• New teaching and sport buildings to have better ‘fronts’- views into spaces, active edges (doors) facing into central areas.

• Food tech and lunch connected to smaller format sport areas.

• Bike entry link from Unicycle Bikeway but with better security and possible location of bike parks closer to active areas.

• Staff room in current location with languages to the west and maths east. Both with vertical links to additional space at ground floor.

• Social Science new teaching space with links to English and new library in the ‘New Caddick Teaching Block’.

• New Science at the upper level with a connection to Maths. (Science labs best upstairs for ventilation).

• Double height and mezzanine space exists in the new Gyms and Hall.

• New quad spaces / outdoor spaces created by the new Caddick Teaching Block – protected and sheltered from the wind.

• New Caddick block proposed as a two story structure, to improve circulation around the campus, reduce the weight of proposed building on TC3 land therefore reducing construction complexity and cost, reduce building shading on the Memorial Park, Avon side park setting,

• Southern Teaching Block activated by busy atrium spaces allow connections from the protected quad space through to the Memorial Lawn, creating stronger links across the campus.

• New gym to enhance and anchor high performance sport campus.

• Main Block, Big Room, Changing Rooms and Food Tech to be refurbished.

• Reducing building weight, and construction complexity - therefore construction cost is reduced accordingly.

• Over shadowing of memorial lawn by a taller building is kept at a more manageable height. Sun Study on page 38.
