Dear Practice Manager,

Medtech Evolution Version 10.0.1 Build 5031 is a milestone of Medtech releases, as this version

explores new Interfaces, teamed up with a technical migration from Delphi 5 to Delphi XE –

which provides the ability to support 64-bit Operating Systems. This release also showcases

the renovated applications with new components, styles and icons.

It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that ALL sites upgrade to Medtech Evolution Version 10.0.1 Build

5031 as soon as possible as ANY future changes and enhancements will NO LONGER be

made available in ANY older versions of Medtech Evolution.

Important Note

From this version onwards, Medtech Evolution now supports both 32-bit and 64-bit operating

systems. Therefore the application has been renamed as Medtech Evolution. All future

Release Notes and Installation documents will refer to the application as Medtech Evolution.

Medtech Evolution provides both 32-bit and 64-bit installers. Depending on the operating

system designed to run on the Client-Server network, the practice can run the appropriate

Medtech Evolution installer.

For further information, please refer to the Medtech Evolution – 32- and 64-Bit Installers

section in this document.

The following is a summary of the key features that have been introduced, as well as the

visual changes that are within the Medtech Evolution Version 10.0.1:

Medtech Evolution Version 10.0.1 Build 5031 (June 2016) is now available as a full DVD

Upgrade.

A summary of the key enhancements in Medtech Evolution Version 10.0.1:

Patient Palette Enhancements

For ease of access, clicking on selected patient demographics items on the Patient Palette –

Name, Address or Phone Number – will open the Patient Register screen of the active

patient. The active patient’s ATSI status will also be displayed on the palette

Action Menus

The most visible and key enhancement is the introduction of the ‘Actions’ menu. This menu

replaces the Context menu, which appeared next to the Module menu to provide

additional menu options for the active window. The Context menu will no longer display in

association with the active windows. Instead the Actions menu will be available within the

Page 4: Information for Release and Installation Medtech Evolution...IMPORTANT NOTE: Interbase XE3 Support Medtech Evolution Version 10.0.1 Build 5031 officially supports Interbase XE3, which

active screen and will contain all the associated active screen menu options previously

found in the Context menu.

Cascading and Tiling Windows

Medtech now presents the user with an option to arrange all open windows in Cascading or

Tiling style for better viewing

Column Rearrange Remembrance

Medtech Evolution Version 10.0.1 provides the ability to remember the column positions (if

rearranged) of the individual screens (for instance, Provider Inbox, Patient Inbox).

Grid Column Sorting

A Column Sorting option has been introduced in several windows to improve the view by

enabling the columns to be highlighted and sorted by the selected column order.

Patient Register-Emergency Contact

The Next of Kin/Employer tab of the Patient Register window has been renamed as

‘Contacts’ and provided an ability to add multiple contacts as ‘Next of Kin’, ‘Emergency

Contact’ and ‘Employer’ details.

MediSecure DrShop integration

Medtech is now integrated with DrShop to minimise abuse of prescription medicines.

Kiosk

A front-desk Kiosk application that allows patients to “self-serve” the common activities within

the reception/waiting room of a primary healthcare clinic

Screen Numbering

Medtech now has unique screen IDs for each screen. This helps customers when calling

Support to report a problem with a particular screen.

Diagnostic Services

Diagnostic Service assists the Medtech Evolution Technical team to diagnose and rectify any

issues more easily.

Patient Name Validation

Medtech has introduced a few validation rules to the Patient Register ‘Surname’ and ‘Given

Name’ fields to restrict users from entering any special characters.

Scanning Enhancements

The Scanning module has been replaced with the latest ImageEn component to bring in all

image formats (e.g. TIFF, BMP, PNG, JPG, etc.) as compressed files into the Medtech

Evolution application. Due to the introduction of this component, the following changes

have been performed in the Scanning module:

It is now possible to scan records/documents in a PDF format. Previously, this was only

possible for Image formats (e.g. TIFF, JPEG, etc.).

Page 5: Information for Release and Installation Medtech Evolution...IMPORTANT NOTE: Interbase XE3 Support Medtech Evolution Version 10.0.1 Build 5031 officially supports Interbase XE3, which

The interface of the View Scan window has been renovated and enhanced accordingly

when viewing scanned Images and PDF documents.

ManageMyHealth™ Enhancements

Patient Email ID Auto-populates – When registering a patient in MMH from within Medtech

Evolution, the patient’s email details are automatically populated in to the MMH Patient

Registration Advanced Form from the Medtech Evolution Patient Register.

Stored Medicare No. Auto-populates – When registering a patient in MMH from Medtech

Evolution, and if the Identification Type selected is via the Medicare Card, the Medicare

Card No. field in the MMH Patient Registration Advanced Form will be populated

automatically from the Medtech Evolution Patient Register.

Enhancements to support the ‘No Jab No Pay’ budget measure

• Increase age restriction to 19 years for transmission to ACIR.

• Allow multiple immunisation schedules including catch-up schedules to be selected for

each patient.

• Immunisation due dates can be calculated based on either patient’s DOB or patient’s

schedule activation date.

• Allow nurses to transmit to ACIR using the logon location’s Medicare Ancillary Provider

Number.

• Introduction of ATSI vs non-ATSI immunisation schedules.

• Introduction of ‘All Immunisations’ tab listing all immunisations including those from

schedules and single-shots.

• Introduction of ‘Sequence No.’ field and related validation based on NEHTA’s My

Health Record requirements.

• Immunisation Exemption Medical Contraindication Form (IMMU11) can be

downloaded as an Outbox document template from our website separately.

• Performance and Memory Management.

• Medtech now supports both 32-bit and 64-bit Operating Systems. The performance

slowness reported in some modules have also been improved with this release.

UAC Compliance

Previous versions of Medtech32 required changes to the users’ UAC settings in order to

ensure that the application could run with unrestricted privileges. To remove this requirement,

and as per Microsoft’s suggestions, the Medtech Evolution application has introduced the

UAC capabilities directly into the application.

DPI Awareness

Historically, the Windows XP’s dots per inch (DPI) settings had been a component of the

Windows based applications. Medtech Evolution Version 10.0.1 has DPI aware capability that

will ensure that the display of the screens looks ‘good’ consistently across a wide variety of

high-DPI display settings.

Icon Changes

All icons across the Medtech Evolution application have been renovated to an enhanced

look and to also adhere to the latest trend
