T he editors welcome contributions of original ~anuscripts that are notunder consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors submitting
manuscripts containing data of clinical obsclVations that have already beenpublished orare in press, submitted elsewhere t or to be submitted elsewheremust provide full details afthis in a coverletter. Upon acceptance ofan article,the author(s) will be required to assign copyright ownership in writing tothe Association for Geriatric Psychiatry.
Peer Review: All manuscripts are subjectto peer review to determine the originality,validity, and significance ofthe submitted material. Criteria for publication include scien..tillc merit and significance to the field. Theinitial review process is usually completedwithin 8 weeks, but delays sometimes occur.Reviewers' comments will be returned withrejected manuscripts at the discretion of theeditors.
Manuscript Specifications: Manuscriptsmust be typed double-spaced with one..inchmargins on plain bond paper. The cover pagemust contain the article title, authors' namesand affiliations, address for correspondenceand reprint requests, and phone number. Eacharticle must include an abstract (IOO-wordmaximum) and a reference list. References arecited by number in the text in sequence offirstappearance and listed numerically at the end ofthe text. Reference format and punctuationmust conform to the following style:

Correct Index Medicus journal abbreviations must be used; those references to journals not in Index Medicus should includefull journal title. Figures must be submittedin camera-reacly form, usually as glossyblack and white prints. Authors of acceptedarticles ,vill be asked to send a copy of theirarticle on diskette.
Regular Research Articles: Original papers demonstrating the results of scientificstudies based on empirical data should notexceed 12-15 pages, including tables, fig..ures, and references, and an abstract of nomore than 100 words.
Special Articles: Typically these shouldreview a defined topic in depth, with can..sidered attention to theory and conceptualunderstanding, as well as data and recentresearch findings. Clinical Reports: Report data from single- orsmall-sample case studies and from uncontrolled studies and controlled studies containing a small number of subjects. Case materialcan be described in brief clinical vignettes andshould not exceed 4-6 pages, including anabstract of no more than 75 words.
Editing: All manuscripts will be edited forclarity, conciseness, and conformity to jour..nal style. Authors are given an opportunityto review editorial changes prior to publication.
