Junior Gymnastics

Roseville College Gymnastics is open to all girls currently enrolled at the College.

The program provides an opportunity for girls to develop their gymnastics skills in a warm and welcoming school environment.

The College offers both Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics classes for all abilities. Students are able to participate in either our recreational or competitive programs. Should girls wish to pursue competitive gymnastics, they will progress through the Australian Levels Program and be provided opportunities to compete in regional, state and interschool events. Alternatively, if girls prefer to be part of the recreational program, classes will be structured to develop the girls’ fitness, flexibility and skill progression in a fun and social environment.

If your daughter is keen to be involved in gymnastics during 2021, please contact:

Miss Madeleine Cvetanovski Gymnastics Coordinator

K-2 Recreational

Our K-2 Rec Gym is our introduction to the world of gymnastics at Roseville College. It has become highly popular with our K-2 girls, who look forward to the handstands, cartwheels and tumbles each Thursday afternoon. This class is perfect for beginners with each class progressing through the basics at the girl’s own pace through various drills and lead-ups. Our K-2 program is the perfect foundation for all fundamental movement skills whilst teaching the girls confidence and discipline within the sport. Class times: Thursday 3.15–4.15pm.

3-6 Recreational

Our 3-6 Recreational class is aimed towards our Junior School girls who are new to gymnastics, and are not interested in competing or have not yet reached the minimum requirements of the WG Squad. This class aims to progress the girls through all the prerequisites for competitive gymnastics in a fun and friendly environment. This class focuses on building a strong foundation through confidence, coordination, strength, flexibility and progressive drills. Class times: Thursday 4.30–6.30pm.

WG Squad

This program is aimed to prepare girls for competitive gymnastics, offering a comprehensive year round strength and conditioning program, in conjunction with their skill progressions and routine requirements. The girls must train a minimum of 3 hours per week, and be capable of meeting the requirements of the new Australian Levels Program Level 3. Please contact Miss Cvetanovski to arrange a trial class or assessment. Class times: Monday 4–7pm, Tuesday 6.45–8.15am. Thursday 4.30–6.30pm, and Friday 6.45–8.15am.

RG Squad

Our Junior School RG program introduces girls to the basics of rhythmic gymnastics and develops skills and handling across all five apparatus – rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon. The class aims to build the girls co-ordination, poise, balance, agility and posture in a fun and social setting. This program aims to prepare the girls for competition, both individually and in groups. Girls who show potential and have progressed into Level 3 will be invited to join the intermediate class to train two or three days per week. Class times: Junior RG (Level 1 and 2), Tuesday 6.45–8:15am, and Saturday 1–3pm. Intermediate RG (Level 3 and 4) Wednesday 4.30–6.30pm, Friday 6.45–8.15am, and Saturday 1–3pm.
