INFORMAL LETTER TO A FRIEND GIVING ADVICE Hi John, How are you doing? It was really nice to know about you after so long ago. I know you’ve been really busy with your final exams at college but now you have just reaped the rewards for such a big effort, congratulations! As you have realised, not everything is rosy. All your fears and doubts about getting a permanent job are totally justified. The fact of facing the professional world for the first time is far from being easy, isn’t it? But don’t panic! If you want my advice, I think you should take it easy. If you aren’t sure about getting a permanent full-time job, don’t do it. This is the perfect moment to do that trip with friends. Believe me when I say that once you’ll start working seriously, you will never find the time to take a gap year. It is an opportunity you just can’t miss and I tell you from my own experience. The idea of getting a temporary job which allows you to earn and save some money to do that trip is really good. On one hand, the job will give you a full vision of what having a real job is and, on the other hand, it’ll help you to clarify what you really want to do in the future. Moreover, this gap year will enrich your cv and your personal experience and, my friend, this is something which never hurts. I hope this will help you a bit. Please, let me know your decision. Kisses, Eva. (257 words) Eva Mercader

INFORMAL LETTER TO A FRIEND GIVING ADVICE

Hi John,

How are you doing?
