ABOUT HUNGARY
WHAT IS
ABOUT?
WHAT IS ABOUT?
It is about creating an adventure project booklet and a boardgame which can be used as a tool to
involve young people in project planning process.
The idea behind Project ON is the fact that all of our life is a big project composed by many different little projects. Every day we are planning and organising our activities, so it's necessary for young people to start thinking more structurally. As youth workers we would like to create a tool to help them. During Project ON seminar we are creating a project planning booklet following the example of adventure booklets (it means that the reader of the booklet can decide after each part where to continue). Parallelly we are creating a boardgame based on the booklet which can be used during field work with young people.

ABOUT HUNGARY
ABOUT HUNGARYIf you would like to know some info about Hungary before coming here, check the www.hungary.com website. Here is a short quotation from that webpage: “Hungary is the country- which boasts one of the world’s most beautiful capital cities: Budapest, the “Pearl of the Danube”, whose wonderful panorama is on UNESCO’s World Heritage list,-where, despite repeated historical disasters which devastated both the people and their heritage, much remains of great value that is worth visiting and getting to know,- where 2000-year-old Roman ruins and 400-year-old Turkish monuments can be found side-by-side, not to mention beautiful churches from the Romanesque period in Ják, Lébényszentmiklós, and Pannonhalma, or one-time stately castles in Eger, Sümeg, and Siklós,- where magnificent palaces functioning as hotels await tourists in Szirák, Seregélyes, and Nagycenk, to mention only the most famous,- where Lake Balaton is located, Central Europe’s largest lake, providing a natural paradise for families with small children,- where hundreds of therapeutic mineral springs gush up from the depths, helping many thousands to recover their health,- where the rich Hungarian folk art and the horse shows which introduce the lifestyle and traditions of the “puszta” (Great Hungarian Plain) attract tens of thousands. And there’s something else that keeps bringing visitors back to us – the legendary Hungarian hospitality.”

During the school period the town is full of youngsters (from Hungary and from abroad) giving a lively ambiance to Szeged. The famous walking street received Europa Nostra price some years ago.

PROGRAM OF THE SEMINAR
WHAT ISPROJECT ON
ABOUT?
OUR CURRANCY AND PRICESOur currency is Forint (HUF). 1 Euro is approximately 300-310 Forints (it’s changing quickly, so it can be more and less as well). You will be able to exchange money at the Airport (you should change some money there because you will need Forint to buy the train tickets; i suggest you not to change a lot cause the rates are not the best at the airport), or in Szeged (the rates little better, and you can choose between more possibilities (banks, exchange offices)). The price of the train ticket is around 4.000 Forint for one way, so you will need this amount of Forint at least if you come by plane.
Here you can find some examples concerning the prices in Forint: • 1 piece of cake --> 300- 350 Forint• 1 glace of drink in a pub --> 300-400 Forint• 1 portion of ice-cream --> 200 Forint• 1 packet of chrisps --> 250 Forint• 1 bottle of mineral water --> 50-200 Forint
