Women are highly valued members of the Moore Theological College community and contribute to its life in a variety of ways. Is Moore the place you should come to prepare for the life of service God has planned for you?
Over the past few years, the centrepiece of the Centre’s activities has been its annual conference, usually held in February. Speakers have included Peter Jensen, Kara Hartley, John Woodhouse, Christine Jensen, James de Costobadie, Phillip Jensen, Tara Stenhouse, and Danny Rurlander. But the Centre does much more than just run a conference. It provides seminars on important issues facing women in ministry throughout the year, promotes a wide range of ministries by women in a variety of ways, supports women involved in postgraduate study at the College and elsewhere, and operates as a resource hub for women engaged in ministry throughout the country and around the world. In these and other ways, the Centre ensures that the development and resourcing of the ministries of women remains a vital concern at Moore College.
The Priscilla and Aquila Centre has established itself as an indispensable part of the College’s life and its mission to train both women and men for the ministry of Christ’s gospel in the world. Why not check out its website and avail yourself of what the Centre has to offer?

Priscilla and Aquila CentreIn Acts 18 Priscilla, alongside her husband Aquila, exercised a faithful teaching ministry to Apollos in the city of Ephesus. Their ministry together, supporting, encouraging and enabling each other was a very important biblical expression of one of the published values of the College—gender complementarity. So when in 2009 a centre was established to promote and resource the ministries of women, particularly as it is exercised in partnership with men, it was only fitting that it was named after them.
The Priscilla and Aquila Centre exists with the generous support of Anglican Deaconess Ministries. Jane Tooher, who combines postgraduate qualifications in theology with experience in women’s ministry in Australia and the UK, is the Director of the Centre. As its website explains in greater detail, The Priscilla and Aquila Centre focuses on encouraging,
supporting and resourcing women and their ministries, but it intentionally avoids considering women and the ministries of women in isolation from men and the ministries of men. It is a Centre for the encouragement of women in partnership with men.

Unique gift ideas for
Mother’ s Day
The wives of our MAF pilots are the
unsung heroes of our ministry. These
women have picked up families and
followed their husbands to some of
the most isolated places on earth.
Many have given up extended family
support, friendships and fresh fruit and
veggies. And in return, they take on
homeschooling, village life and creative
cooking with Spam! This Mother’s Day,
help us honour the MAF wives and
mothers with a gift to support the work
they’ve devoted their lives to.
3 steps to make a mother’s day
1 Choose which gift you’d like to give, to
keep mothers and children healthy.
2 Fill in these gift details on the enclosed
coupon, and tick the box if you’re making it
in honour of a special mother in your life.
3 Return your coupon to MAF in the reply
paid envelope, and we’ll send your Gift Card
to you in time to give for Mother’s Day.
Thank you!
