    1. WHAT

    Summary:

    The goal of the exchange fit for the future make a difference through Social Business is- to meet people from other European countries- to exchange experience, knowledge, skills and have fun together- to learn from each other, enhance your own soft skills and- to learn more about Social Business and its seven principles and create concrete ideas in

    order to solve the todays challenges

    Prior to the exchange you are asked to do some preparation work: to describe your ownpersonal contact with social problems/engagement, environmental protection and the actionsyou and your country already take to solve such problems.

    After the exchange, communication and cooperation will continue and increase between the

    participants, their own organizations and other organizations. This will lead to a growingnetwork, with the topic of sustainability and social innovation: to exchange information,cooperation and empowerment to create a world where we live in harmony with nature and atpeace.

    Topics and purposes:Social Business:The peace price medalist Prof. M. Yunus has created the idea of Social Business many yearsago with the development of the microcreditsystem in Bangladesh/India, the Grameen Bank. HisVision is the total eradication of poverty from the world.To make this possible he has set the seven principles of Social Business to solve social orecological problems through using private sector mechanisms. This idea is very successful and

    is going around the world in this time. We would like to introduce you to this idea and togetherwe will create concrete solutions (right up to business models) to bringing this idea into life. Youwill have a good basis maybe to create your own Social Business.

    Personal development:Enhance your soft skills e.g. by practising intercultutal teamworking, getting more insights ofyourself and what you can do to create the life you want to reach your personal goals. Get incontact with your power!Boost your professional career: e.g. you will get a youth pass(http://www.youthpass.eu/en/youthpass/) and you can use the network for cooperation andempowerment. Processes will be accompanied by a youth trainer/coach.

    Cooperation:Act together (experience of the power of a group vs. doing sth. alone) and find mutual solutionsfor todays challenges on a personal, local and global scale.Be part of a growing network: to share and exchange your ideas and information, gain and givesupport and empowerment and be connected with people from all over the world.

    Learn more about yourself and other cultures, enhance your soft skills, takeresponsibility, make your contribution and team up with other people to cooperatebeyond boundaries in order to find solutions for todays social and ecologicalchallenges.

    - Between the ages of 18 to 25- Able to communicate in (basic) English.- Able to swim (there is a swimming pool and one possible activity will take place by/on a river)

    - Willing to take an active part in the whole exchange program and willing to be activeafterwards in the network and at home.

    3. PREPARATION

    As a participant, you are asked to do some preparation work :

    - Please find out what your country (politics, organisations etc.) already did or does to protectthe environment, to solve social problems like unemployment etc. How the economyimplement sustainability or social responsibility?What are people doing, what are youdoing?

    - What are the typical characteristics of your country and its people (in general)?

    Please collect this information (e.g. by web research) and bring it with you. During theexchange each group will conduct a creative performance about their country.

    4. CITY & TRAVEL INFO

    Zwickau

    History Automotive- and Robert-Schumann-city:

    Zwickau has long been famous for making sheets andlinen: the fine Zwickish cloth was popular acrossEurope as far back as the sixteenth century.

    The area is not only known for textiles and carvings,however. In 1904, August Horch started anautomobile factory under his own name, devoted tothe production of luxury cars to the highest technical

    standards. After a dispute on names, he founded the Audi works in Zwickau, which is the onlytown in Germany to have produced cars continuously for over a century.

    Zwickau was also the home of Trabant. Over three million of these GDR cars rolled off theZwickau production line from 1957 to 1991. Volkswagen Saxony now manufactures their Golfand Passat models in the Mosel district of Zwickau.In 1810, the famous son of the city Robert Schumann (composer) was born.

    Today Zwickau is the fourth biggest city in Saxony (Capital: Dresden), has a population of94.887 inhabitants and over 200 restaurants, pubs and cafs

    If you buy a first class ticket, you will not get back your money!If you book as soon as you decide to take part, you will get a cheaper early booker ticket. Ifyou book e.g. your train tickets to Zwickau several weeks beforehand, you can save up to 50%(in Germany).

    Airports:Dresden, the nearest airport to Zwickau.

    Berlin, Tempelhof or Schnefeld

    If you want to go by car with the other participants of your country, please note, that you will getonly 0,22 per kilometer (reimbursement 70% of the total amount).

    The accommodation/place of event

    The exchange will take place on a small farm/youth hostel nearby Zwickau City, the Rst- und

    Freizeitheim Lutherhhe (http://www.freizeitheim-lutherhoehe.city-map.de (german)).

    There you will find a lot of leisure facilities like soccer, basketball, volleyball, table tennis,

    barbecue and campfire etc. There are even some farm animals and there are clean and basic

    rooms for accommodation.

    5. COSTS AND REIMBURSEMENT !!!!! Read carefully!!!

    We will reimburse 70% of your travel costs.

    Accommodation and food will be arranged by us/the host organization.

    Conditions:Money will be reimbursed in the following case:- Travel costs from home to the venue of the project and back. Use the cheapest means and

    fares (Economy class, 2nd class train ticket).

    We ask you to keep all your receipts (bus, train tickets, flight tickets, boarding passes and

    invoices), so that we are able to reimburse you the 70% of your total travelling costs . We need

    the tickets for both ways, therefore please send us your return tickets.

    You will get half of your reimbursement during the exchange and the other half after we have

    received your return tickets and boarding pass.

    Attention!

    Travel-insurance will NOT be reimbursed.

    No Receipts = NO reimbursement.

    6. PRACTICAL ISSUES

    What to bring:

    - Sheets or sleeping bag (there are uncovered pillows, blankets and the mattress)

    - Towels

    - Clothes and shoes for outdoor (nature) & indoor

    - Sun block, spray against ticks, swimming suit

    - Specialties from country (food, music, dance, clothes etc.)

    - Money for individual demand

    - Information about your country and what people, politics and

    organizations are doing for environmental protection- Medicines id needed

    - Passport or other official identification

    - Copies of your passport,

    - Travel tickets, boarding passes and invoices

    - and FUN!

    Arrivals and departure:

    Please make sure that you contact us about your arrival and departure time beforehand.

    If you want to arrive earlier or leave later, please let us know so we can help you findaccommodation. Its not included in the program or project. The organization therefore willnot cover these extra costs.
