① Senior(G2) : born before Dec 31, 2002 (17 years old or above) / 8 weight categories

※ For Korean : The participating entities are allowed to prepare only 1 contestant out of their athletes for

each category(The Men’s & Women’s respectively). However, all athletes with WT ranking

points are allowed to participate in pertinent weight category without limitation.

※ For non-Koreans : Above restrictions are not applied.

② Junior : born between Jan 1, 2002 and Dec 31, 2004(15~17 years old) / 10 weight categories

4) QUALIFICATIONS : KUKKIWON or WT Black Belt holders

Competitors and officials for Senior kyorugi MUST be registered on the GMS(Global

Membership System) and have valid 2019 WT Global licence. Otherwise, he/she is not allowed to enter the competition area. (17 years old shall choose between Senior and Junior )

6) METHODS OF COMPETITION : Single elimination tournament system

7) COMPETITION RULES

① Competitions follow the WT Rules.

② All competitors must wear WT officially‐approved Taekwondo uniform (Dobok).

③ Contestants for kyorugi should bring their own Mandatory Safety Equipment such as WT‐approved Groin

Guard, Forearm Guard, Shin Guard, Sensing socks (in the case of using PSS), Gloves, Mouthpiece, etc.

8) DURATION OF CONTEST

① Three rounds of two minutes each with a one‐minute rest period between rounds.

② In case of a tie score after the completion of the 3rd round, a 4th round of one minute will be conducted

as the golden round, after a one minute rest period following the 3rd round.

9) WEIGH‐IN

① Weigh-in of the contestants shall be completed on the previous day of the pertinent competition.



② During weigh-in, the male contestant shall wear underpants and the female contestant shall wear underpants

and a brassiere. However, weigh-in may be conducted in the nude if the contestant wishes to do so.

③ Weigh-in shall be made once, however, one more weigh-in is granted within the time limit to any contestant

who did not qualify the first time.

④ All competitors should bring their ID cards when they weigh

6) METHODS OF COMPETITION : Single elimination tournament system for each weight category. ① Non PSS(Protector and Scoring System) shall be applied. ② Contestants for kyorugi for children should bring their own Mandatory Safety Equipment such as Headgear, Groin

• Cut-off system and single elimination tournament system shall be applied to the Poomsae competitions. • In the case of insufficient number of contestants in each category, demonstration shall be carried out. • Number of contestants : For a team, 3 competitors for Male/Female respectively. For a pair, 1 male and 1 female. • Contestants are allowed to wear either recognized uniform[Dobok] or WT Poomsae uniform. • In “Children’s and Cadet’s category” of recognized Poomsae, competitions shall be conducted as mixed gender games. • Individual and Team competitions of recognized Poomsae shall be conducted separately for Koreans and non-

Koreans. (Parts of the competitions shall be carried out together.) • The contest area for Recognized Poomsae : 10m × 10m • Scoring of Recognized Poomsae(Individual, Team, Pair) · Composition of refereeing officials shall be a five-judge system. · Final score shall be the average point of the total points summed up except the highest and lowest points. · In case the match is tied, the winner shall be the one who has scored higher points in order of

presentation, accuracy, and total points (total points of all judges, including highest and lowest points) · If it’s still tied, then a rematch shall be conducted to determine the winner.

• Free Style Poomsae is the performance based on taekwondo techniques with composition of music and choreography.

• Composition of Free Style Poomsae : Yeon-mu line, music, and choreography shall be the choice of contestant. • Performed techniques must be within boundary of taekwondo. If not, the techniques are subject to “Gamjeom”.

The definition of taekwondo techniques shall be determined by Poomsae committee, when contestant submits performance plan of Free Style Poomsae.

• Contestants are allowed to wear either recognized uniform[Dobok] or WT Poomsae uniform.

❺ INTERNATIONAL REFEREES

1) The required number of International Referees shall be determined in accordance with the WT Rules.

2) Round trip airfare shall be the responsibility of each participating International Referee, while the Organizing Committee

will cover accommodation of room and board from July 4 to July 10.

3) The Organizing Committee will provide the participating referees with daily allowances of US$100 for the competition

❼ REPRESENATITVES’ MEETING : 14:30 July 4 (Thu), Chuncheon City Library

1) The Representatives’ Meeting and the Drawing of Lot will take place the day before Chuncheon KOREA OPEN in the

presence of representatives and officials. The drawing of lots shall be conducted from the lightest weight category up

to the heaviest in alphabetical order of the official English names of participating nations.

2) For nations that don’t participate in the meeting, the supervisor of the lot carries out drawing as a proxy.

3) Order of drawing lots is subject to change at the representatives’ meeting.

※ Representatives’ Meeting for Children’s category : 13:00 July 5 (Sat) Hoban Gym.

❽ ID CARD PICK-UP : July 2 ~ July 4, Registration Center in Hoban Gym

※ Organizing Committee issues “Certificate of Participation” to all contestants & officials during registration period.

❾ OTHERS

1) AWARD PRESENTATION : The top three contestants in each category per competition.

2) INDEMNITY

① Organizing Committee effects accident insurance for all competitors during the competition only.

② Only first‐aid treatment is available for wounds from the competition.

3) PARTICIPATION SUPPORT

① Only the teams that apply for 7 or more days of on-site training in Chuncheon before or after the Championships

period shall be provided with training facilities and assistance.

② GROUND TRANSPORTATION

‐ The O.C. will provide ground transportation.

‐ Shuttle Bus between Incheon airport and Chuncheon

Arrival : July 3 ~ July 5, 2019 (For 3 days only)

Departure : July 11 ~ July 12, 2019 (For 2 days only)

※ Except for those who participating through other travel agencies or regions.

‐ Shuttle Bus to/from Hotel and Hoban Gym during the championships period.

‐ All officials and athletes should inform the O.C. of their flight schedule by June 28 at the latest.

4) NOTICE

① All competitors must wear WT approved Taekwondo equipment.

② It should be the responsibility of all participants including officials and athletes of CHUNCHEON

KOREA OPEN to fill out and submit the enclosed “WAIVER & RELEASE of LIABILITY and

INDEMNITY AGREEMENT” form to the O.C.

③ For matters not specified in the regulation, all participants should follow the decision of Organizing Committee of

CHUNCHEON KOREA OPEN.

Having received a commission from the officers and athletes participating in the CHUNCHEON KOREA

OPEN International Taekwondo Championships 2019, the above signer hereby apply for personal accident

insurance through Organizing Committee. The personal accident insurance covers only the injuries that

happen during the Championships period(July 4 ~ July 10, 2019. Individuals including the officers and

athletes participating in the aforementioned championships hereby indemnify and hold harmless the

Organizing Committee of the Championships, the Korea Taekwondo Association and the World Taekwondo

from and against any personal damage and property damage caused by or resulting from all accidents

caused in connection with the Championships and such personal or property damages shall be

compensated for by the insurance the above signer has taken out privately.

OPEN International Taekwondo Championships and that he or she shall not engage in any activities causing

any malicious effect to the Organizing Committee during the championship period, and shall not demand
