    Picasso was one of the most important figure of the 20th century. He was a painter and sculptor. He was born in Spain in 1881. Picasso spent most of his life in France. His father was a painter and an art teacher. Picasso could draw and paint when he was very young. His first word was “pencil’’. At the age of six, he began receiving art lessons from his father. When he was 14, he attended a famous art school in Barcelona. A few years later, he went to another school in Madrid. Picasso didn’t like the classic teachings of art school. He wanted to create something new. With his friend, Georges Braque, Picasso invented the Cubism art movement. Cubism artworks look like they are made out of cubes and other geometrical shapes. His most famous painting is Guernica. It shows the horrors of war after the bombing of the town of Guernica.
