1.1 Introduction
ThankyouforpurchasingaSeagotender,thismanualhasbeencompiledtohelpyoutooperateandmaintainyourinflatabletender. Pleasereadthismanualcarefullyandfamiliariseyourselfwiththeinflatabletenderbeforeattemptingtoinflateorusethetender.Ifyouareuncertainabout theassemblyorsafeoperationofthistenderyoushouldseekprofessionaladvice. Thisusermanualcontainsdetailsaboutyournewinflatabletenderandtheequipmentsuppliedorfittedtoit.Inadditionitcontainsinformationonits operationandmaintenance. Ifthisisyourfirstinflatableboat,oryouarechangingtoatypeofcraftyouarenotfamiliarwith,foryourowncomfortandsafety,pleaseensurethatyou obtainhandlingandoperationexperiencebeforeassumingcommandoftheinflatableboat.Yourdealerornationalsailingfederationofyachtclubwillbe pleasedtoadviseyouofthelocalseaschoolsorcompetentinstructors.

4 Warning
When operating the tender: • Youmustberesponsibleifyouareusinganoutboardenginetoensurethatpollutantsdonotenterthewater. • Becarefulnottoendangerswimmersoranyonearoundtheboat,particularlyifyouareusinganoutboardengine. • Youshouldalwaysmoderateyourspeed,otherwisethiswillcausesignificantwashandwavesbehindthetender. • Duringinflation,donotuseacompressedairsource(i.e.,automotivetyreaircompressor)toinflatethetender.Overinflationthroughtheuseof compressedairmayresultininjuryandorrupturingthetenderseams. • Iffitted,makesurethattheoutboardengineisinneutralbeforestartingtheengine.Makesureyouinstalltheoutboardengineatthecorrectheightso astopreventcavitation.(causetheproptobeabovethewaterline)however,installingittoolowmaycausetheproptosplashwaterintotheboat. • Checknationalandlocalboatinginformationsuchastidetablesandchartsaswellassafetyandlocallawregulationsbeforeusingyourtender. • Neverexceedtheweightcarryingcapacitystatedonthetender’sidentificationplate. • Everypersoninthetendershouldalwayswearalifejacket(personalflotationdeviceapprovedbylocallawagency) • Oarsorpaddlesandarepairpartskitshouldalwaysbecarriedwiththetenderforemergencies • Allloadsplacedinthetendershouldbeuniformlydistributedtoprovideproperboattrimwhenunderway. • Donotsitonthesidetubes,topreventfallingoverboard. • Checkweatherforecastsandlocalconditions.Alwaysbesureyouhaveenoughfueltoreachshelter.Advisesomeonewhereyouaregoing. • Always start the engine at low speed setting. • Beforeusingthetender,inflatethetenderonedaypriortouseandcheckifthereisanysignofairleakage. • Youmustprotectthetenderagainstexposuretothesun(UV)foranyextendedperiodsoftime;thismeansthetendershouldbecoveredbyasuitable UVblockingcover. • Overinflationcancausestructuraldamagetoyourboat.Donotallowyourboattostandindirectsunlightwhenoutofthewater(evenwhencovered)as thismaycauseoverpressuretothepointofdamageorbursting.

Overpressurisationiscausedbyincreasedtemperaturechangeoftheairwithinthetubesofthetender. Topreventoverpressurisationyoushouldmonitorthepressureofthetubesduringthedaytomakesurethatthemaximumrecommendedpressureisnot exceededatanypoint.Ifyouinflatethetenderinearlymorningwhenthetemperatureiscoolerthetendertubeswillexpandasthedaygetshotter. Store the tender in a cool and shaded area.
5 Assembly
5.1 Air floor tender
• Findaflatsurfacewhereboatcanbeassembled. • Makesuretherearenosharpobjectsthatcanpuncturethetenderduringassembly. • Unfoldandspreadthetenderoutflat. • Verifythevalve/capgasketisinplace. • Makesurethevalvecoreisturnedtotheanti-clockwisepositiontopreventtheairfromescapingwhenyouconnectanddisconnectthepumphoseto thetendervalvefitting.Todeflatethetenderpushthevalvecoreinandturn(1/4turn)inaclockwisedirectionthiswillallowyoutofullydeflatethe tenderwithoutthevalvebeingdepressedbyhand.Seediagramtooperatevalves. • Dependingonthemodeloftenderyouhaveitmayhaveupto3chambers.. • Begininflationtoamaximumof50%workingpressure,startatthebow,thenstarboardandfinallytheport-side.Donotinflateanyonechamberinfull atatimeasthiscausesunnecessarystresstotheinsidebulkhead.Maintainabalanceofairineachchamber.Bythismethod,thebulkheadsthatdivide themainairchambersaremaintainedsothatthereisequalpressureandapproximateinflatedsizeoneachsideofthebulkhead.Failuretofollowthis mayresultinirreparabledamage. • Whenthetubesareat50%inflationyoushouldfittheseat,youwillnotbeabletofittheseatifyoufullyinflatethetubes. • Positiontheairfloorandinflateittoapproximately70%. • Inflatethetubesto100%workingpressure,re-fitthevalvecover. • Inflatethekeelto100%,re-fitthevalvecover. • Inflatethefloorto100% • Install the drain plug and the oars

5.2 Wooden floor tender
• Findaflatsurfacewheretendercanbeassembled. • Makesuretherearenosharpobjectsthatcanpuncturethetenderduringassembly. • Unfoldandspreadthetenderoutflat. • Verifythevalve/capgasketisinplace. • Connectthepumptothetendervalve;makesurethevalvecoreisturnedtotheclockwisepositiontopreventtheairfromescapingwhenyouremove thepumpfitting.Todeflatethetenderpushthevalvecoreinandturninaclockwisedirection(1/4turn)thiswillallowyoutofullydeflatethetender withoutthevalvebeingdepressedbyhand.Seediagramtooperatevalves. • Dependingonthemodeloftenderyouhaveitmayhaveupto3chambers. • Begininflationtoamaximumof50%workingpressure,startatthebow,thenstarboardandfinallytheport-side.Donotinflateanyonechamberin fullatatimeasthiscausesunnecessarystresstotheinsidebulkhead.Maintainabalanceofairineachchamber.Bythismethod,thebulkheadsthat dividethemainairchambersaremaintainedsothatthereisequalpressureandapproximateinflatedsizeoneachsideofthebulkhead.Failuretofollow thismayresultinirreparabledamage. • Whenthetubesareat50%inflationyoushouldfittheseat,youwillnotbeabletofittheseatifyoufullyinflatethetubes. • Fitthefloorboardsintoposition. • Inflatethetubesto100%workingpressure,re-fitthevalvecover. • Inflatethekeelto100%,re-fitthevalvecover. • Install the oars. • Install the drain plug.

5.3 Inflation pressure
• Overinflationcancausestructuraldamagetoyourboat.Donotallowyourtendertostandindirectsunlightwhenoutofthewater(evenwhencovered) asthismaycauseoverpressuretothepointofdamageorbursting. Overpressurisationiscausedbyincreasedtemperaturechangeoftheairwithinthetubesofthetender. Topreventoverpressurisationyoushouldmonitorthepressureofthetubesduringthedaytomakesurethatthemaximum recommendedpressureisnotexceededatanypoint.Ifyouinflatethetenderinearlymorningwhenthetemperatureiscoolerthetendertubeswill expandasthedaygetshotter. Pleaseusetheworkingpressure Maximumairpressureoftube:0.25bar Maximumairpressurekeel:0.40bar Maximumairpressurefloor:0.70bar.
• Howtooperatethevalve:depressvalvecoreandrotateclockwise.Toopenthevalve,turn1/4clockwise.Toclose thevalve,turnagain1/4clockwise.

6 Mounting outboard engine
Selectingtheoptimumoutboardengineiscriticaltotheperformanceandlonglifeofyourinflatabletender. • Unlockmotorfortiltingandmounttheenginecorrectly. • Theengineshouldbeinthecentreofthetransom. • Maketheclampsaresecurelytightened. • Adjust the engine angle. • Fordetailedinformation,pleaserefertoyourenginedocumentationorcontactthesupplierofyourengine.
7 Deflation & packing
7.1 Air floor tender
• Beforedeflation,makesurethetenderiscleananddry. • Takeouttheseatandoars. • Deflatetheairfloor. • Placebothsidetubestowardinsideoftheboatandrollslowlyfrombothendsuntilallairisexpelled. • Toavoidsuddenpressurechangesontheinternalbulkheadstrytolettheairoutasevenlyaspossible. • Storetheboatinsidethecarryingbag.
7.2 Wooden floorboard tender
• Beforedeflation,makesurethetenderiscleananddry. • Todeflate,openthevalvesasshowninthediagramandlettheairoutofeachchamber. • Removeseatandoars. • Firstremoveno.2andno.3woodfloorboard.then,takeoutno.1andno.4floorboard. • Placebothsidetubestowardinsideofthetenderandrollslowlyfrombothendsuntilallairisexpelled. • Toavoidsuddenpressurechangesontheinternalbulkheadstrytolettheairoutasevenlyaspossible. • Storethetenderinsidethecarryingbag

8 Warning when running
• Inthecasesofmorethantwopersonsboardingthetender,itisimportanttodecidetheseatingpositionofeachpersontogivethebeststabilityofthe tender.Whentheboatisheadeduppriorto“plainsailing”itiseffectivetokeepthetendersbowdown,bytheweightofthepersonssittingtoward thebowside.However,anexcessiveweighttheremightcauseadangeroushead-downpositionwhenboatgets“plainsailing”.Nevertheless,the extremesittingoftwopeopleonsternintheheaduppositionwillcauseanotherriskofoverturn,whenthewindisblowingtowardsyou.Wheneveryou areturningyourtender,reductioninspeedisrequired.Wheneverthetenderisturningitwilltiltconsiderablyinsidetowardstheturningcentre. Thereforeturningtoleewardorwhenwavesarehighmightcausetheboattofloodwithwateroroverturn. • Beverycarefulabout“shallows”or“unknownreefs”.Alwayschecklocalnavigationalmapswherethetenderwillbeoperated. • Avoidtendersexposuretodirectsunlightforanyextendedperiodsoftime.Youshouldalsoadjustthechangingairpressureinsidethetubestoallow fortemperaturevariation.Inadditionyoushouldprotectthetenderfromdirectsunlightphysicalreactionbyultra-violetraysastheageingofthe materialswillbeacceleratedundertheseconditions. • Refrainfromsmokingwhenyouareonthetenderorrefuelling. • Nevergoinoraroundanyswimmingareaswithyourtender,astherewillbeaseriousdangerofswimmersgettinginjured.

9 Warning when towing
• Iftheinflatabletenderistowedbyanotherboat,theinflatabletendermustbeempty&theengineremoved. • Atowinglineshouldbesecuredtothetowingeyesoneachsideoftheboat.(theropesuppliedonthefronteyeletisformooringandisnotsuitablefor towing)asuitablystrongfloatinglineshouldbeusedtopreventanypossibilityoftheropegettingtangledaroundtheprop. Thetendermustonlybetowedusingthetowingeyesfixedatthesides,abridlesystemmustbeusedtotowthetenderevenlyandpreventdamage fromuneventension. Evenincalmconditionsthetendercanbecaughtbythewindanddamagedthetowingeyes.Thetowedtendermustbeobservedcontinuously.Towing shouldonlybecarriedoutincalmconditions.

10 Storage and cleaning
Allowyourtendertodrythoroughlyintheshadebeforestoring,neveringlaringsunlight.Storeyourtenderinacool,flatanddryplacewithsomeairintheair chambersifatallpossible.Ifnot,emptythetenderofairandrollthetenderuploosely,nottightlyasthismaydamagetheseams.Thesurfaceofthetender shouldbecleanedwithasolutionofmildsoapandfreshwateraftereachuse.Toavoidabrasionandwear,besurethatallthesand,smallrocks,oilanddirt havebeenflushedawayfromthetendersurfacesandparticularlytheinsidefloornexttothetubes.Neverusepetrolorsolventforcleaninganypartofyour tender
11 Repair & maintenance Ifyouareunsureornotcompetentwerecommendthatyouseektheadviceofaprofessionalrepairer.ShouldyouattemptarepairtoyourSeagotender, firstlyassesstherepairyoumaybeabletousetherepairkitprovidedusingthefollowinginstructions:
1 Cutoutapatchwithroundedcornerstoasizewhichoverlapstheholeby5cmonallsizes. 2 Traceanoutlineofthepatchwhereitwillbefittedontheboatandensurethisareaiscleananddry. 3 Degreaseboththepatchandtheareaofthetendertoberepairedusingmekoracetonesolvent,andleavefor10minutes. 4 Applyathincoatofadhesivetobothsurfaces. 5 Leavefor20minutesthenapplyafurtherthinsecondcoattobothsurfaces. 6 Whilestilltacky,bringtogetherbothsurfacesandapplyasmuchpressureaspossibleusingaroundedobject(i.e.Backofaspoon)fromthemiddleof thepatchworkingoutwards. 7 Cleanoffanyexcessglue. 8 Allowtocureforatleast12hourspriortoinflationexceptduringanemergencywhenatemporaryrepairwillsuffice.
Ifyouareunsureoranymajorrepairworkisrequired,includinganydamagetothetransom,largetearsorfaultycomponentswestronglyrecommendyou seektheadviceorservicesofasprofessionalrepairer.

1 Wewarrantythe1stnewownerandaccessoriesattached,thereto(hereafterreferredtoas“tender”)manufacturedbyus,tobefreefromdefectsin materialandworkmanship,butonlywhensaletotheconsumerismadeinacountrytowhichweauthorisedistribution. 2 Thiswarrantyshallbecomeeffectiveonlyuponregistrationonlineatwww.seagoyachting.co.ukorreceiptofacompletedownerwarrantyregistration cardtotheSeagoaddressbelow,whichshallidentifytheserialnumberoftheproductregistered. 3 Yourtendercomeswithalimitedwarrantyonthematerialandseams.Thiswarrantyisasfollows:

4 Sincethiswarrantyappliestodefectsinmaterialandworkmanship,itdoesnotapplytonormalwornfabricorwoodfinishesortodamagecausedby: 1 Neglect,lackofmaintenance,accident,abnormaloperation,racingcompetitionorcommercialservices. 2 UseofanaccessoryorpartnotauthorisedbySeago. 3 Alterationorremovalofparts.
5 Thiswarrantywillnotapplyto:haul-out,launching,storagecharge,telephoneorrentalchargesofanytype,inconvenienceorlossoftimeandincomeor otherconsequentialdamages.

6 Claimsshallbemadeunderthiswarrantybydeliveringtheproductforinspectiontothesellingdealerwhowillthenarrangefortheinspectionandrepair, providedsuchserviceiscoveredunderthiswarranty.Itistheowner’sresponsibilitytoregisterthetenderwithin28daysofpurchase.Therearenoexceptions tothetermsandconditionsofthiswarranty;ifyourtenderisnotregisteredyourextendedwarrantywillnotapply.Purchasershallpayforallrelated transportationcharges.Iftheserviceisnotcoveredbythiswarranty,purchasershallpayforallrelatedlabourandmaterialandanyotherexpenses associatedwiththatservice.Anyproductorpartsshippedbypurchaserforinspectionorrepairmustbeshippedwithtransportationchargesprepaid.7 TheownerregistrationcardistheonlyvalidregistrationidentificationandmustbeonfilewithSeagoyachtingatthetimethewarrantyserviceisrequired. Proofofpurchasemustbeshownbeforeanywarrantyclaimcanbeprocessed.8 Ourobligationunderthiswarrantyshallbelimitedtorepairingadefectivepartoratouroptionreplacingsuchpartorpartsasshallbenecessarytoremedy andmalfunctionresultingfromdefectsinmaterialorworkmanshipascoveredbythiswarranty.Wereservetherighttoimproveorchangethedesignorany productwithoutassuminganyobligationtomodifyanyproductpreviouslymanufactured.9 Allincidentalandconsequentialdamagesareexcludedfromthiswarranty.Impliedwarrantiesarelimitedtothelifeofthiswarranty.10 Thiswarrantygivesyouspecificlegalrights,andyoumayalsohaveotherlegalrights,whichmayvaryfromareatoarea.
