Wow! What a ride. Back in 1980, we started out with one small store in Austin, Texas. Today, we’re the world’s leader in natural and organic foods, with more than 310 stores in North America and the United Kingdom. What a long, strange trip it’s been. We still honor our original ideals, and we think that has a lot to do with our success.

Who are we? Well, we seek out the fi nest natural and organic foods available, maintain the strictest quality standards in the industry, and have an unshakeable commitment to sustainable agriculture. Add to that the excitement and fun we bring to shopping for groceries, and you start to get a sense of what we’re all about. Oh yeah, we’re a mission-driven company too. If you are interested in learning about our business practices and what makes us tick, check out our Core Values, Quality Standards, Declaration of Interdependence, and more.

Around here, we often talk about our mission in terms of Whole Foods – Whole People – Whole Planet. Basically, we think these elements all play a huge role in our success.

Whole Foods — We search for the highest quality, least processed, most fl avorful and natural foods possible because we believe that food in its purest state — unadulterated by artifi cial additives, sweeteners, colorings and preservatives — is the best tasting and most nutritious food there is.

Whole People — Our people are our company. They are passionate about healthy food and a healthy planet. They take full advantage of our decentralized, self-directed team culture and create a respectful workplace where people are treated fairly and are highly motivated to succeed.

Whole Planet — We are committed to helping take care of the world around us, and our active support of organic farming and sustainable agriculture helps protect our planet. And while we assist our global neighbors through our Whole Planet Foundation’s micro-lending operations, we also step out the back door of each of our stores to support food banks, sponsor neighborhood events and donate to local non-profi t groups.

When Good Thoughts Go Bad

Many times when clients walk into my office they say: “I’ve tried everything, affirmations, meditation, CDs, and nothing works.” For most of their life they have been taught that repetition is the best way to learn. Even though repetition works well as a learning tool it is by definition a tedious process. The number one reason that people choose to use hypnosis to make changes in their life is speed.

It is easily understood that the faster you change a habit the faster the new habit can become a natural part of your life. The difference between repetition and most hypnotic processes is that hypnosis engages both parts of the mind - the conscious and the subconscious - simultaneously, as well as the left and right hemisphere of the brain, which is commonly overlooked. The findings of modern research indicate that each hemisphere of the brain tends to specialize in and preside over different functions, processes different kinds of information, and deals with different kinds of problems.

An example of these differences is that the left hemisphere uses logic and reason, the right uses intuition and emotion. The left thinks in words and the right thinks in pictures. The left thinks sequentially and the right things holistically. The left is controlled and orderly and the right is spontaneous and free. Although we are born with a natural ability to operate simultaneously out of both sides of the brain, our life experiences often trigger dominance of one side over the other when we are responding to specific situations. The more emotionally charged (traumatic) the experience is, the more likely the conclusion of that event will be stored in one or the other hemisphere for future reference and the more likely you will automatically over-identify with that one hemisphere of the brain when faced with similar life experiences in the future.

By now you’re probably saying, “So what”. What does that have to do with me changing my habits? My

by William Molitor, BCH, CI

answer to this is that here lies the magic of hypnosis. In order to change a habit it is imperative that you address the belief assigned to that habit. A common belief that a smoker holds is that smoking relaxes them. We know from all studies that the effects of nicotine and the other chemicals associated with smoking are not relaxing. In fact in most cases those chemicals do just the opposite. But because the smoker has this belief the results are a mental experience of relaxation even though the physical body is in turmoil. This is commonly described as the placebo effect.

By learning to directly access the subconscious mind, negative beliefs that sabotage behaviors and wellness can be changed into beliefs that support them. If smokers establish a new belief that every time they breathe in the smoke from a cigarette, they are poisoning their bodies they will begin to feel all the ill effects of that action. As most smokers will attest when they first tried to start smoking they felt those ill effects. Because it was their desire to become a smoker, for what ever reason, they established beliefs that would support that desire.

So when you engage the whole brain, left and right, you address all aspects pertaining to the beliefs associated with the habit. You address the belief or the reason for smoking in the left hemisphere and you address the belief about how it makes you feel in the right hemisphere. This creates a balance, so you no longer have conflicting beliefs that sabotage your desire for change. These principles are not limited to just physical habits. Hypnosis is also used to change habits of thought that create stress, fears, guilt, jealousy, and the list goes on and on. Intentionally engaging and modifying your beliefs gives you more choices, having more choices will release you from being trapped in a singular response to any event.

All too often you will, while attempting to change a negative habit, become more focused on what you don’t want to happen. It is often said that if

you don’t know where you’re going, how will you know when you arrive? This is also true when you’re giving directions to your subconscious mind. Most processes simply focus on getting rid of a problem. That is like hiring a painter to paint the walls in your house and then telling him what color you don’t want. Think of the amount of time that you would have to spend telling that painter all the colors that you don’t want just to get to the one color that you do want. You can easily see that it would be much simpler to tell the painter the one color that you do want, first. That is exactly what the hypnotherapeutic process called “The Hall Thoughts ™” does. This revolutionary process not only gives precise directions for change, but also addresses any beliefs stored in the subconscious mind contrary to the desired change.

It doesn’t end there. There has been much research done on the physical consequences of our thoughts. A brilliant cell biologist by the name of Dr. Bruce H. Lipton has been studying and providing scientific proof that all the cells of your body are affected by your thoughts. To better understand this process, I would recommend reading his book “The Biology of Belief”. If you truly want your life to change and you want those changes to be fast and permanent then there’s no better way than to learn how to correctly communicate with your subconscious mind through hypnosis.

This issue is about peace, harmony, and joy. I started thinking about what these things really mean; not just the Webster dictionary defi nition, but what they really mean from an emotional and spiritual perspective. When I consider peace, harmony, and joy in that light, they are interwoven into one form of emotional and spiritual experience that is intensely personal to each one of us.

For me, this experience is directly tied to the Earth and the interconnectedness of all. Since childhood I have had this experience in two situations. The fi rst is tied to experiencing the Divine while outdoors. It is that moment when the wind stills, all movement ceases, and the blue of the sky merges with the green of the grass and trees and the black of the tiniest ant on the ground. You feel your being connect with living Spirit of sky, ground, grass, ant, bird, tree until you experience it all as One. In that still moment, all is Divine.

The second situation involves, of course, animals. For me, there are rare and wonderful moments when my Spirit connects with the Spirit of an animal. All time stops, all motion ceases, and the communion is absolute. In the stillness, time is suspended. In the stillness, both are part of the greater One. I have had the privilege of this experience with two of my horses, as well as a few of the dogs who have lived with me. With my horse Rusty, we would sometimes stand together, early in the morning, and watch the sun rise over the fi elds. Some days he was quite insistent that I do this, blocking my way back to the car and my drive to work. It was like watching the Earth be reborn each day. He and I were in perfect harmony together, sharing this experience of the world. One of the most profound experiences of the Oneness of all for me took place one snowy day when he took me for a ride through he undisturbed snow of the fi elds. The hushed silence, absolute lack of any sound except his quiet hoofs in the snow, was a spiritual experience.

All was united in bright, white light and stunning blue sky.

Cheyenne, the horse that is with me now, allows me to experience connection in a very different way. When I allow myself to slow down, my brain to stop thinking about all the chores that have to be done, all the “monkey brain” clatter that normally occupies my brain, an amazing thing sometimes happens. I open the stall door to let her out, and she will walk up to me, stand quietly, and place her head flat against my chest. We just stand there together, and I can almost feel the connection between our heart centers come to life. We stand in stillness together, quietly, in perfect understanding and love. It is an amazing experience to share with another being. It is the experience of utter peace, complete harmony, and joy.

As we move through life, we can encounter many different animals. Some we invite to live with us. On rare occasions a unique and special Spirit in an animal body will choose us, will draw us to them, and we know they are coming to live with us whether it makes sense logically or financially. I encourage you to listen for this feeling, as it indicates a Teacher is being presented to you. While I am not always the best and most patient human with Cheyenne, I have from the beginning had an absolute trust in her that at times logically did not make sense. As she and I develop our relationship, it is becoming more and more clear to me that this short, grumpy, intelligent, and headstrong horse is a Teacher that I need at this time in my life.

Honor the animal Teachers in your life, and give yourself the gift of time with them in this season of Peace, Harmony, and Joy. Cheyenne says to also remember to give all your animals a gift too – food is preferred!

Happy Holidays and our wishes for a peaceful and joyous 2012 to you and your family.

The Iceberg and the Monkey

by David Mahen

We’ve learned a lot about icebergs from the stories of Titanic and similar vessels. Ocean liners and freighters would brave the North Sea and the dangers of floating ice because that was the fastest route. They had charts, compasses, and weather reports to guide them, but the information wasn’t always reliable. Some ships ran into icebergs, and the results were disastrous. We know the greatest part of the iceberg remains hidden under the surface, out of sight. We also know that icebergs can cause devastating consequences to ships and their passengers and crews.

Okay, so where’s the monkey? I’ll get to that shortly.

The threat of icebergs has been mostly eliminated. Modern vessels have global positioning data, radar, sonar, horizontal thrusters, and other innovations that allow them to navigate safely through icy waters. But when we think about navigating the ever-changing seas of our own lives, where are the radar, the sonar, and the GPS that will keep us safe? Believe it or not, we’re all equipped with maps, routes, radar, and sonar.

Now where does that monkey fit in?

You may have heard the story about tribesmen in Africa who have a unique way to catch monkeys. They take a coconut and make a hole just big enough for a monkey’s hand to fit through. They tie the coconut to a tree, place a handful of peanuts into it, and leave a trail of peanuts along the ground into the nearby forest. Then they wait.

Later, a monkey appears and starts picking up the peanuts one by one. When he reaches the coconut, he plunges his hand into the hole, grabs as many peanuts as he can, and gets trapped. His hand is in the coconut with a fist full of nuts, and he can’t get it out.

Knowing he can’t escape, the monkey screams! His shouts alert the tribesmen who easily capture the monkey, and the poor monkey loses his freedom forever.

The monkey could escape at any time by dropping the peanuts, but that isn’t in his nature. He won’t let go of the peanuts – his peanuts – because he instinctively holds his food tightly. As a result, the monkey has a handful of peanuts that he can’t eat, and loses HIS FREEDOM!

Monkey? Iceberg? Is there a connection there? You bet!

The hidden part of the iceberg represents our subconscious mind. Our maps, our programs, and our “stuff” exist there. As we

navigate through life with these internal charts and maps, we often confuse points on the map and where we really are. In our earliest years, we learned not to touch fire, and a program was written in our subconscious minds. When we learned to drive a car, the skills were stored there. When we were hurt or afraid, our responses were programmed there. Everything we learned about money was stored there. Today as we navigate through new situations, the old charts and maps still guide us.

We are like the monkey, governed by patterns in our subconscious minds that we can’t let go of. These patterns are so deeply embedded that we can’t let them go even when we know we should. But unlike the poor monkey, we can choose to write new maps and charts and to alter our programs. It may seem impossible to do this at first because our instincts and programming say “No, you can’t change this.” We may feel as trapped as the monkey, but we aren’t.

We simply have to begin where we are and take steady steps toward our dreams. We can rewrite the maps and charts hidden in the “iceberg” of our minds. Instead of trapping our monkey, we can free him and achieve all our dreams.

Baker Chiropractic

Baker Chiropractic and Wellness Featured Patient Beth McCormick have been a patient of Dr. Paul Baker’s since June 2010. I started treatment at Dr. Paul’s Red Bank facility for low back pain issues. Dr.

Beth McCormick’s Testimonial Lowering High Cholesterol Levels Naturally

Baker is a very “holistic” doctor, concerned about the patient’s entire health. I had been taking a statin for high cholesterol since April of 2010, prescribed by my cardiologist. After about 4 months, I started experiencing severe pain in my hip and hand joints. Dr. Baker recommended that I stop taking the statin and try a natural supplement to treat the high cholesterol.

I began a regimen of taking EFAs – Essential Fatty Acids along with Niacin (Vitamin B). My cholesterol was tested at 259 (HDL-45, LDL-175, Triglycerides-195 ). After being on the all-natural regimen for 3 months, my cholesterol dropped to 197 (HDL-82, LDL-99, Triglycerides-81 ). I was amazed at the increase in HDL without adding any exercise. I am expecting even better results once I increase exercise and have been on this all-natural regimen for a longer period of time. Thank you Dr. Baker!

A Teacher Appears As Close as Your Heartbeat

Life can be distracting and pulls us away many times from the gift given to us by God of communication with Him and His direct representatives. Work, family, and friends all take its toll on our ability to drop down in level and listen to “that still small voice that speaks within.” Many are not comfortable being alone with their thoughts and will use numerous ways to occupy their mind when simply listening to their own thought processes would gain them an advantage in a given situation. Distractions such as turning on the radio in the car as soon as you get in, turning on the television as soon as you get home or as soon as you wake in the morning are all ways that stop us from being alone with our thoughts. Many times a moment of quiet time is helpful just to process the events of the day. Many of you reading this are thinking “That’s easier said than done. Do you know what I have to deal with each day?”

Thoughts are things. Our thoughts help create our reality and allow us to process and manage that which we deal with on a daily basis. Nothing has ever been created or invented that was not first visualized or imagined in thought. It is important to be able to differentiate between thoughts that we think and thoughts that are incoming. It is necessary to be able to tell the difference between thoughts that we originate and thoughts that are received. Received thoughts have a different feel. It is a subtle difference but easily recognizable once you are able to relax your mind when time allows and objectively look at the way you deal with all that which this existence brings us.

Reception in thought is a natural ability shared by all. It is just a matter of pushing aside the distractions and allowing incoming thoughts to be made known to your mind. This is the preferred method our spirit teachers/angels use to lead, advise, and guide our steps as they serve our Heavenly Father by serving us. Allowing yourself to be receptive in thought requires an open mind. However any time you open your mind with a desire to receive you must always establish a filter or protection that will insulate you against incoming thoughts from undesirable sources. A number of years

ago this affirmation was made known to my mind: “Let no thoughts, ideas, or information be made known to my mind that does not come from God or His direct representatives.”

This is my protection and all incoming thoughts are filtered through this statement. This is my Kung Fu and it is strong.

I am publishing a book of messages and teachings dictated directly from spirit teachers/angels by a beautiful and most spiritual lady by the name of Wilma Jean Jones. Her book is “An Angel Told Me So.” The manner in which Wilma received these dictated messages was just such as this. She would be led to receive a message. She would sit down at her table where she had an electric typewriter. She would insert a sheet of paper into the typewriter, drop down five lines and indent five spaces just as you would do to type a letter. She would say a prayer asking for protection and relax her mind. Soon three or four words would become visible in thought. She would type those words and they would disappear only to be replaced by three or four more words. This is the manner in which these messages were received. Messages were normally received for both Wilma and myself in a session. Prophesy was given as well as advice in dealing with particular situations. Two interesting things were going on here. Some of the sentences in these messages are one hundred twenty words long with punctuation. The depth and quality of these teachings are like nothing I have ever read. The other interesting aspect is that these spirit teachers knew how much paper Wilma had. On full page messages they repeatedly put the last word of the message in the bottom right hand corner of the paper so tight all you can get is the period. How can that be done?

I have a spiritual website spiritspeaks.com. When you go to the site there are five hidden messages in the painting as well as a number of excerpts from Wilma’s book. The message for the sun is a message Wilma received dictated from spirit teachers/angels that she felt was confirmation that she should put these messages in a book. This is the message Wilma received:

Page 11: Infinity Magazine Dec/Jan 12

“Emptiness is part of fulfi llment. Let your “resources” fi ll the void left so that distinction of your purpose can be found. Expression is always self-explanatory. Therefore look inside and anchor all your beliefs “beside those still waters” that will take away your troubled view and renew your strength to recapture that which was lost but is now found to be adequate to pursue the course set before you, and as you reconcile your being to represent those qualities that have been left intact – God will see to it that although circumstances have been trying to say the least, your weariness will disappear as clouds once removed allow the sun to shine to dispel the gloom and darkness that has pervaded your countenance, and as once described before, a token of this presence will be ‘deposited’ to your account and books recorded in His name.”

(Possible conformation to record messages in a book. I had been praying about it.)

Wilma Jean Jones

Be receptive in thought to your own spirit teachers/angels. They are here to help us. As close as our heartbeat and with us always. They take great joy in our recognition of the fact that they exist to serve us as they serve our Heavenly Father.

Michael has signed a contract to publish Wilma Jean Jones book “An Angel Told Me So” with Balboa Press, a division of Hay House. Let’s all start now, before the Holidays, to work on our own New Year’s resolutions, so at the fi rst of the year, we can help those we love, with theirs. As they see us making some headway with our own goals we have set for ourselves, it will give them hope that they too can achieve theirs.Time to move yourself to the top of your priority list. If you are too tired, too sick, too depressed yourself, you are not going to be fully available when you are needed most, by the ones you love. By putting your own basic needs fi rst, you assure others that you will be there for them, when they need you.No matter at what point you fi nd yourself at in life, don’t let the circumstances of the now, fool you into believing that life is always going to be that way for you. The universe has so much more in store for you, if you will stay focused upon the positive end results you are looking for, and not get caught up in the negativity of what’s happening at the moment. As a well known preacher said lately, just stay in faith that things will get better. You can set the example for those you love, by living your own truth. When it is hard for others to move mentally and energetically out of the turmoil in their lives, you

can help them by setting an example and giving them a helping hand, when they need a boost up. That does not mean doing it for them, it means helping them learn on a day to day basis, how to attract more of what they want in their lives, to them. The small things we do in life every day for other people, can make all the difference in the world. A listening ear for the those that live by themselves, encouragement for those that need to know someone cares, guidance for those that have no where else to turn, etc.New Year’s resolutions are important. They show we have faith that we can still make changes in our own lives, that we can become the person we want to be in life. Let’s make this the very best Holiday season ever. The best present we can give ourselves this Holiday season, is having the faith that we can make the changes in our own lives that we need to make.

Walking When the Sun Stands Still

Come walk a labyrinth this winter, especially around the solstice (December 22nd, 2011).

A labyrinth is a patterned path, walked slowly to support contemplation, meditation, or prayer. Once you reach the center, you turn around and follow the same path back to the entrance.

Many traditions interpret labyrinths as solar symbols. The Hopi believe the seven circuit form represents Father Sun, with the cross it makes in the center as the four directions and seasons. Someone walking a labyrinth moves back and forth between two points, briefly pausing at them, the center and the entrance. This pattern mirrors the yearly path of the Sun. Depending on the season, it rises and sets at different points on the horizon, stopping twice to change direction. For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, it reaches its southernmost location on the Winter Solstice and its northernmost location on the Summer Solstice. Solstice comes from the Latin solstitium, meaning “Sun stands still”. The Sun’s position on the horizon changes daily, except around a solstice, when it stays the same for three days.

Because they represent the Sun’s path, walking a labyrinth is a potent tool to harness its energy. The solstices and equinoxes are the yearly solar equivalent to the monthly Moon phases. Energy is temporarily heightened, making them opportunities for deep meditation, ceremony, or setting intentions. Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year. Its energy is therefore similar to New Moon, supporting purification, transformation, and facing inner or outer darkness. Certain periods are traditionally auspicious for spiritual work on it, like the turning points of the Sun (dawn, noon, and dusk) and the specific time of the solstice (12:30 a.m., Eastern Time). Like a major lunar phase, the energy is strong for three days (December 21st - 23rd) but strongest on the actual date (December 22nd). Because it is so close to midnight this year, Winter Solstice is on December 21st in other time zones.

Winter time is the time of the year in the “5 ELEMENTS”, when the CYCLE is moving from Metal element into “WATER ELEMENT”. Last issue we talked about the TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) and the 5 elements. We saw how the Lung/large Intestine were affected when the days were rapidly getting shorter. The fall, the emotion is grief, the organs related to metal, are the Bowels, lung symptoms, sinuses will act up, your allergies will be amplified, all old problems can arise this time of the year. Metal element is also elimination, the lung and large intestine time of days are early morning, this is meant to eliminate the work from the Gall bladder and Liver has done in the very early morning. As the cycle turns, symptoms of weakness will appear.

Now we BEGIN to see the days getting shorter and frost is on the ground. Before long the snow will begin to fly. The water element has begun. It is the deep yin time of the year, energies contract. Imagine the fire element in full swing. Summer time highest Yang, the body is in full energy mode, we are out and about, days are long and hot, the emotion, Joy, it sometimes represents overzealous energy without foundation, fire represents expanding energy. The winter is the opposite, the energy is contracting the organs are the Bladder and Kidneys. If the water element is involved, then we can see low back pain, knee pain can, ankle and foot pain, also the head of the hair can fall out, kidney stones can manifest. In the west this can resemble the hypo adrenalism. This is why old arthritis areas tends to flair because the water elements, damp cold plays huge role in arthritis, invasion of cold will attack the neck area. Cold invades the bladder channel on the back side of the neck affecting vertebral alignment and blood supply to the brain.

So cover your neck when you go out into the cold damp wind, use a scarf or turtle neck. Some other symptoms can be feelings of being burnout; mornings are rough when days are cold and dreary. Traditionally the sages look to the winter as a time to shut down and conserve energy. The sages of old stayed warm by the fire, meditating and conserving their Chi thru the winter.

5 Elements

by Tommy R. Thompson, DC, NMD, LAcp

We can’t live this way so readily, in the west we push ourselves too much, keeping up with the Jones’s, drink 10 hour energy drinks, so we can make deadlines, worry and stress then comes the emotion of the WATER ELEMENT is FEAR! Fear of change, fear of loss, fear of whatever, and People think if they pound their bodies out, the “more is better mentality”. They try to remain thin, in shape and young. They fear and don’t embrace change. Many people are on anti-depressant meds all their adult lives, because they get sick and run down very easy, and are diagnosis with depression, because of stinking thinking, so some of the strategies are, get their flu shots so they don’t get sick. So much hard work with little or minimal and diminishing returns and even after their flu shots they get sick any way. Their immune system gets trashed out, then they add antibiotics when they get real sick, then they develop autoimmune problems later in life. Then next is having surgery on beat up joints and replace the worn out joints. More medications to hide my symptoms, please...

Winter is important, Kidneys represents the batteries to the body, and all the other elements are directly or indirectly related to kidney and water energy. The Yuan CHI source comes from the kidneys.

This time of the year is necessary; we have seasons in our life, Changes! We have time of abundance and times of winter where we can begin a new if the mind set is right. Remember the only constant in life is change. You can be in the winter of your life and remain there because of mind set, remember cycles are about change. There is a spring time where planting is important, summer where you need to nurture the growing, then comes the harvest, then the cycle returns to winter. This cycle can be reflected in many areas in your life. What cycle are you in?

Peace, Joy and Hope

As we move into the holiday season we are thrust into a busy time. Traffic seems to be a little more intense, people move quicker, in part to get out of the cold, and the pace is unlike any other time of year. Our minds are aflutter with all that we have to do. Do we have enough food to feed all of the guest, have we forgotten to buy a gift for someone? These questions and many more are driving us into a frenzied rush.

So really it is quite easy to be taken away from the things that the season is supposed to stand for. Things like peace, joy and hope for example.

Peace by definition means a state of quiet tranquility; freedom from disturbance or agitation; calm; repose. This sure doesn’t sound much like holiday shopping does it?

Joy by definition means gayety; mirth; merriment; festivity; to rejoice; to be glad; to delight. Now this seems a little more like the holiday spirit.

When I looked up hope in the dictionary, the words jumped

by Charley Skyright off the page; to cherish a desire with anticipation.

Every child knows hope inside and out. These days there are no visions of sugar plums dancing inside their heads. It is more likely to be visions of a new gaming system sitting under the tree, or a new CD, or MP3 player, or maybe an envelope filled with cold hard holiday cash or gift cards.

I think the adults are hoping that they can somehow get through the season in good form, pleasing children, friends and neighbors as best as they can.

With all of this in mind, I am sending each of you thoughts of peace. It seems like this is what will be most needed for all of us during this busy season. So take a few deep breaths and let yourself be reminded that inner peace is the greatest gift of all. Furthermore, it is free! It is the gift that you can give to yourself by taking a few deep breaths and realizing the miracle of your life, the miracle that you see in the mirror each day.

I send peace, joy and hope to each of you. Have a superb holiday season, and may all your dreams come true.

Love, Charley Sky

2012 Moons, Retrogrades & Eclipses

by Diana Garber

Astrology and Mercury-Retrograde

When the planet Mercury travels in retrograde motion, there is a high probability of delays, communication problems, and issues (mentioned below). During Mercury retrograde, mistakes are likely. During 2012, there are three Mercury retrograde periods.

Retrograde periods encourage us to change our thinking processes, refocus, and seek others along similar paths. This is not a time to react, but to be proactive; thus new and creative ideas are called for (and will also surface). Mercury Retrograde provides us with the opportunity to adjust our thoughts, attitudes, and communication. The outer world (communication) can suffer during this time requiring one to pay extra attention to communicating clearly with others.

Before a retrograde starts:

•Perform full system back-ups and anticipate technology breakdowns. In addition to backing up your important files, upgrade virus-protection software. •Ensure your vehicle’s oil is taken care of, tires are in good working order, or take the vehicle in for a tune-up. •Regarding travel arrangements -- validate then reconfirm. .

During Mercury retrograde:

•Utilize this time to tweak, edit, reevaluate, rework, or repair whatever you’ve been procrastinating. •Plan and prioritize projects, recycle, or detoxify. Assess your career, finances, and health but wait (until retrograde is over) to take action. •Avoid initiating new projects, surgery, grand openings, major purchases, or signing contracts while Mercury is retrograde. •Mail can move more slowly or be lost; appointments are missed; and, misunderstandings are more common.•Complete unfinished business and explore your

personal perceptions. Go easy on yourself because breakdowns are likely. •Schedule half of what you normally do to allow for delays. Use extra time to catch up but allow enough time to fix mistakes that surface so you don’t have to rearrange your schedule. •Re-establish communication with former contacts. Past acquaintances are likely to turn up at this time – so don’t be surprised

Mercury-retrograde periods are:

March 12 – April 3July 15 – August 7November 6 - 26

Retrograde energy is felt a couple weeks prior to and following actual retrograde periods. Again, be proactive and enjoy the ride. When things return to normal, resolve any issues and focus on moving forward.

Planetary Eclipses -- Lunar (LE) and Solar (SE)

Eclipses tend to signal significant change and new information. They can sometimes signal a stressful time, mainly due to the shift in circumstances that may occur. Try to avoid making important decisions during an eclipse as the energy around you will tend to be unsettled and changeable.

Solar eclipses (SE) are closely associated with new beginnings and their effects can last up to one year. Lunar eclipses (LE) are associated with completion or endings and their effects can last up to six months.

To prepare for an eclipse:

•You may start to experience an eclipse up to 30 days prior to the event. A good rule of thumb is not to start anything new a week prior to an eclipse. •No two eclipses are alike (based on patterns, aspects, degrees, etc.). Some eclipses affect us more than others based on our company and birth charts. A consult with a professional astrologer is a good investment. Identifying angles, axis points, and trines (as examples) are beyond me.

16 Dec / Jan 2012

Page 17: Infinity Magazine Dec/Jan 12

17Infinity

•It’s also wise to wait at least a week for things to settle after an eclipse before making any important or final decisions.

May 20, 2012 = SEJune 4, 2012 = LE

These eclipses have to do with rewards due to effort. In other words, if you’ve been working diligently toward an end goal, the fruits of your efforts will start to unveil. This is a good time to pursue success for your ideas.

If you are so inclined (open to the idea), the lunar eclipse can also connect you spiritually -- you may see images or hear messages from our collective consciousness or your guides. The flip side of this (for those not inclined) is getting in your own way – avoiding an opportunity that can lead to a rewarding opening.

November 13 = SENovember 28 = LE

These eclipses have to do with good news that involves new responsibilities or a commitment. The solar eclipse could bring about aggression so funnel that energy into a good cause or goal. Otherwise it can have negative implications. When I see this type of scenario, I process it this way: If for the good of others – good will come of it. If not for the good of others – bad can come of it. The lunar eclipse is about inner wisdom and faith. Seek others to expand your horizons.

Moon Cycles

Preparing for the moon cycles:

•The new moon is a positive, motivational time for initiating new beginnings and projects. •The full moon is a time for completion and endings. Avoid scheduling elective surgery during a full moon as you will tend to bleed more. However, planting on the full moon is known to produce better crops.•Consider starting projects and signing contracts

Dates are a sweet and healthy fruit that can be used in a variety of ways. There are three different types of dates, soft, semi-dry and dry. Fresh dates can be found in the winter season, eating the soft date variety is easier if they are pitted, because they contain a large stone many prefer to have removed.

Chopped dates are used in cookies or breads which are common around the holidays. The health benefi ts of dates are awesome! Dates are packed full of vitamins and minerals, calcium, iron, manganese, phosphorous, potassium, vitamin A and B, just name a few.

Dates are a great source of fi ber which is another great reason why they contribute to a healthy diet. They are rich in antioxidant fl avonoids such as beta-carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin. These antioxidants have the

ability to protect cells from free radicals which can help to prevent cancer.

Medjool dates are often called, “the king of dates,” they are large in size and are usually among the favorite dates to be used for cooking. Medjool dates have slightly more health benefi ts which can be a joy to use for baking because they are so sweet, they help to sweeten a recipe naturally.

Dates are energy boosters and have been known to have more potassium than a banana. They aid in digestion and can have a laxative effect.

Completely gluten free, dates are ideal for those on a low sodium diet. Dates do not have to be stored in the refrigerator and can be frozen. Eating a handful a day of this amazing fruit is an easy way to keep healthy all year long!

The field of Sound Healing is a rapidly growing discipline that is attracting great interest. Many of the techniques that are employed stem from ancient traditions. Further, modern scientific research is adding to our understanding of how sound interacts with and enhances our bodies and minds. An important technique in Sound Healing utilizes the intricate combination and interplay of various musical effects. It is the magical and complex interaction of special sounds with the human body and mind that give the impressive results that are achieved. Read on for more information on transformative aspects of music.

Music Aspect #1; Intervals

An interval is a technique used in music where two different notes are sounded at the same time. The individual notes combine to produce a new sound effect different than either of the two originals. This phenomenon is due to the interaction of the sound waves comprising each note.

When the brain receives tones that are presented extremely close to the ears (as when you wear headphones) the brain can only “hear” one tone at a time. If you play a different tone into each ear then the brain combines and averages both tones, and you hear a pulsing sound which is the average of the two tones. What is thrilling about this is that you have just introduced “whole brain” functioning. Regular use of “whole brain” functioning has been shown to enhance intelligence and overall mental performance, reducing mental decline.

Certain intervals impact our states of consciousness and produce different feelings. For example, a major fifth interval produces a harmonious, spiritual feeling while a major seventh interval produces a moody emotion and a minor third creates a melancholy feel. Techniques employing sound intervals have shown impressive results relieving depression and other negative emotions such as loneliness, pity and anger.

Healing with Sound Transformative Aspects of Music by Jill Mattson

Music Aspect # 2; Pitch

The pitch of a note is how high or low it sounds. Higher frequency is higher pitch – corresponding to faster vibrations or “tighter waves” and higher energy. Lower pitch is due to slower vibrations.

French physicist, Joel Sternheimer, discovered that: “while a protein is being assembled (in a plant) from its 20 constituent amino acids a frequency can be calculated…and transcribed into a note… for each amino acid”. If you play the notes, corresponding to the amino acids, back in the order that they are combined in a protein, a melody results. When the melody of the amino acids is played back to the plant its growth and overall vitality is increased.

Just as plants have shown to be positively affected by Sternheimer’s melodies, there are many researchers studying the effects of pitches and melodies on human health. Robert Monroe, (founder of the Monroe Institute), discovered that listening to recordings of specific pitches produced psychic phenomena in some listeners. The French ear, nose and throat doctor, Alfred Tomatis, demonstrated that higher pitches affect the neocortex of the brain - energizing people.

Makers of sound and light machines tout that special sounds can induce delta and theta brain waves – corresponding to the production of beneficial neurochemicals.

Music Aspect #3; Rhythm

It has often been said that the human body is an orchestra with the heart drumming out the constant beat. In the womb, we hear our first communication in the rhythm of the mother’s heartbeat.

Rhythm can affect our pulse and heart rate, breath, stress response, and the pace of our voice, walking and activities. A healing rhythm increases or slows our energy down, strengthening the elasticity of our pulse, helping us gain vitality.

Our own rhythms can be a more complete expression of who we are than we realize. On a busy street watch the variations of walking. Some people bounce, others

Dec / Jan 2012

Page 21: Infinity Magazine Dec/Jan 12

21Infi nity

shuffl e and a few march. Some are rigid, others fl exible. Other variations include jerkiness versus regularity of rhythm, or a calm rhythm versus a rushed one. Our personality and emotions can be revealed in the rhythm of our walk.

Words have rhythm. Our rate of speaking and associated movements is an expression of individualism, in fact they often show unspoken communication, our underlining meaning beneath our words. While our words may say one thing, our rhythm of words and body language can say another, revealing a deeper truth.

Reinhard Flatischler, who developed the revolutionary approach to rhythm, combining pulse, breath, voice and rhythm, said in his book, The Forgotten Power of Rhythm, “The drum returns my energy by translating it into audible rhythm and thus completes a circuit of energy that allows me to connect with my own power.” The rhythm expresses our own energy and power.

American Indians used drum rhythms to induce trances, in which they experienced “out of the body” travel, similar to effects from hallucinatory drugs. These “journeys” were used to glean information from the future or to receive wisdom for their decisions and purposes in life.

African witch doctors utilized drum beats to work dancers into a frenzy, citing that these experiences cause one to shed negative energy that can be the underlying cause of illness.

Rhythm is an important contribution in the many faceted art of Sound Healing. Impressive results can be obtained when rhythm is properly combined with other powerful Sound Healing techniques.

The Absolute Need to be Healthy

If Obama Care stays next year your concepts of what you will have to deal with in reference to health issues are going to change. If you are over 60 years old and have cancer or heart problems, you are going to be in serious trouble, because there will be no health care benefits.

So my conclusion is that we must do everything we can do to get healthy and stay healthy. What is that going to entail? Going to the grocery or health food store and shopping for healthy foods. Believe it or not, not all foods in the health food store are healthy. The same is true at the grocery. You will have to learn to read labels and understand what is good and what is bad on the labels. There are many toxic substances in packaged food. The information on the labels needs to be understood and know which ones you need to avoid. Understanding this is for your ability to keep your body running in a homeostatic manner which means that all the organs in your body are functioning in a normal manner. Your body should be able to wake up in the morning feeling good with plenty of energy to accomplish what you have to do that day. Your body should be able to wind down at night and get 8-9 hours of sleep. Your body needs that amount of time to do its house cleaning. The garbage that was created during the day must be cleaned out of the lymphatic system and into your colon. So a good night’s sleep is very important for the body’s janitors to do their work.

You might be saying that maybe this is not possible. I hate to tell you that if you don’t do a regimen like what I have said , you might as well buy a plot of ground for yourself ahead of time.

What I am about to explain is what we are confronted with from the day we are born and all the precautions we are going to have to observe. For example the MMR vaccinations are loaded with mercury, supposedly required after you are born, shuts the parotids glands down (located in your jaws)making everyone who got

the vaccination allergic to wheat, rye, oats and barley. In other words, every time those individuals eat any of these grains, the adrenal glands go into a state of shock. The adrenal glands ultimately contributes to the hyperactivity of young children. It is also associated with the fact that mercury (which is a component of the vaccine) causes autistic kids. Not a good idea. The vaccine makes a lot of money for the drug companies by requiring every person that is born in the United States to be inoculated.

I have heard from some mothers , that for breakfast they start their children out with a POP TART and a PEPSI in the morning before going to school. I feel for the teachers of these kids. They must have the patience of a saint. All the sugar in these products is nothing more than alcohol, makes these kids hyper or half drunk. There are several tablespoons of sugar in a bottle of Pepsi. Or some bottling companies have switched to high fructose corn syrup instead of sugar. In some cases it is reported that high fructose corn syrup is laced with mercury. Best thing to do is to avoid carbonated drinks. I am convinced that carbonation is a major contributor to diabetes which is now pandemic in the United States.

I have heard some dietitians instruct diabetics that they can have all the diet pop that they want. They could not put a worse thing in their body. The carbonation comes from carbonic acid. Their systems are already too acid. That is what diabetes is, too acidic. When the glucose gets too high, it will put that individual into a coma. Besides all that, the diet pops which contains aspartame turns to alcohol and causes a weight gain and ultimately turns to formaldehyde. The idea was to avoid the excess sugar and decrease the calories. The aspartame in diet drinks and in foods is not what you think it is. It creates a lot of toxicity in your body that affects the liver and kidneys.

Have you got your Flu shot? You have heard it and seen it in the media. But do you need it?

Parasine is certainly more effective than the FLU SHOT. Parasine makes interferon that traps the virus that produces the FLU symptoms. This is what

Dec / Jan 2012

Page 23: Infinity Magazine Dec/Jan 12

is needed to prevent any attack of viruses. We make interferon in our body if we have the right ingredients. Parasine contains all the ingredients that you need to make your own interferon. There are patients that have taken it since 1988 and have never had a cold. It is made and distributed by Para Health Foods Inc., located at 7865 Paragon road, Dayton, Ohio 45459, ph. 937-434-8066

Look at this. The flu shot ingredients list is as follows: It contains, Triton X100 (soap), gelatin(jello), egg virus(???), gentamysin(antibiotic for the eyes), thymerosol(mercury), formaldehyde(deadly poison),sugar (alcohol), polysorbate 80 (a known toxic preservative), resin (a plasticizer). Now, tell me what is in the FLU shot that would do anything for viruses? The only thing I see, having a chemistry background is a bunch of toxic substances which are very expensive that would make you very sick. This information came from the CDC in Atlanta, Georgia. Formaldehyde and mercury would put you into a nursing home at an early age.

We will continue in the next issue with the rest of the story. Don’t miss it.

The Gift of Fire by Cynthia M. Brown

It has been another year since I began writing for Infi nity. I have spent time talking with you about food, dealing with cancer; chasing ghosts, dining alone and the joys of being the soup mom. I have made you aware of the transition in my life at age 50, from a life in the city to a life on Peach Mountain, working in transformational healing and peace education. I have told you that I am trying to live a more mindful, intentional life.

Yesterday, one of my staff members went home after a very long, intense week of work to fi nd that the beautiful mountain top woods of her property and her neighbor’s, was on fi re. The fi re had consumed the entire mountain. She was devastated. This woman loves these hills. She left the city many years ago for the solitude and beauty of this country. She bought a small cabin and began the 20 plus year labor of love of creating an oasis for herself, her family and her friends. While her house is safe and she is grateful, her landscape is forever changed. The woods that have provided her painter’s and photographer’s eye with so much fertile creative soil and such personal joy are gone.

I have only returned to this landscape of my childhood and my heart recently. I cannot imagine losing a single tree here on Peach Mountain. I know that is the natural course of things but in my weekly rambles I have become well acquainted with these majestic co-dwellers. I imagine their lives and the stories they tell as the wind tears across the hilltops during this transitional time of year. Yes, solitude does change one’s perspective. Perhaps mine has always been a bit different because I have always known that all living things have stories to tell.

After I hung up the phone last night, I sat on my porch and watched the clouds being pushed back and forth across the moon. I listened to the gusting wind as it swallowed the sound of the coyotes. I woke up this morning and as I walked across the meadow in the early morning, I made sure to touch each tree I passed and to drink in its skeletal frame against the gray sky. I have tried in recent years not to take much for granted. Surviving cancer makes one want to be more mindful of life’s little moments but it is hard not to get swept

back into the swirl of life at the frenetic pace of this post modern world. I thought, here on the mountain, that I was beginning to slow myself down and really turn my attention toward those sacred simplicities. Hearing that a friend’s mountain side had been reduced to scorched earth, has made me realize, I have a long way to go in re-attuning my life and really seeing the forest amid the trees.

I know, as does my friend, that life will rise from the ashes of those beautiful old trees and begin anew. And, as in the tale of the phoenix, I will take this moment when fi re has touched my life, if only in this visceral and periphery way, to re-affi rm my commitment to be aware and grateful, for this beautiful place I have been gifted to live, each and every day. In this season of thanksgiving and gift-giving, I am more keenly aware of this sacred and precious gift every day.

The next issue is February/March; Infinity must receive your story by January 10th.

“Angelic Intervention”

Back in 1971, our first child arrived the first week in May... a beautiful 9lb, 3oz. boy.

We were renting a small home with no air conditioning and that year the August summer heat was exceptionally warm.

As I put my baby down for his afternoon nap, I turned on a small table top fan to circulate the air from his opened window.

I decided to go out onto the front porch for a small break and sat there for about 5 minutes, when out of the clear blue I heard a ‘voice’ in my left ear clearly and emphatically say, “Kathy, go check on David!”

I didn’t question the voice.... I immediately jumped up and went inside to my son’s room and there on the table sat the small fan on fire! Flames were coming from the motor located in the center of that fan!

I immediately grabbed the fan’s cord, unplugged it from the electrical outlet and threw it outside!

I know the voice I heard was from an Angel... an Angel watching over my infant son...

What if I hadn’t heard that voice? What if I had discounted that voice and chose not to respond?

To this day, 40 years later, I remain in gratitude for the Angel’ s continued presence in my family’s life, watching over us all.

Angelic Intervention? I certainly think so.

Respectfully,

Kathy Tschirhart

Five Minerals for Midwinter

1. Amber for Energy. Not technically a mineral but a fossilized tree resin, reddish orange, golden yellow, to milky white in color. The decrease in daylight during the winter can trigger depression, low energy, and excess sleep. Amber traditionally represents the Sun; use it to support happiness, well being, and physical vitality. Alternative: Sunstone. Also used for its solar qualities.

2. Amethyst for Addiction. A pale lavender to dark purple variety of Quartz. Amethyst is a stone of restraint, use it to resist over indulgence in food and drink during the holidays. The name comes from the Greek amethystos (“not intoxicating”). The wine colored stone was believed to prevent drunkenness. Amethyst helps transform unbalanced emotions, thoughts, or behaviors, supporting those trying to break a bad habit like smoking for the New Year. Alternative: Onyx. Also used for self control.

3. Bloodstone for Spirituality. A green variety of Chalcedony, with red spots. It is easy to neglect ourselves spiritually during the chaos of the holidays. Combing the red of the Root Chakra and the green of the Heart Chakra, Bloodstone balances the material and spiritual. It also helps us connect to the different reasons for the season. Many holidays like Yule are based on the Winter Solstice. Bloodstone was known in antiquity as Heliotrope, meaning “Sun turner”. Use it to honor the reborn Sun. In later mythology, it became spotted from the shed blood of Christ. Work with it to keep him at the heart of your Christmas. Alternative: Chiastolite (pronounced “kigh-as-tuh-light”). Also symbolizes Christ and the wheel of the seasons.

4. Lepidolite for Peace. (Pronounced “leh-pid-oh-light”). A pink to purple variety of Mica, sometimes gray in color. Lepidolite is rich in Lithium. Since Lithium salts are used medicinally for mental health, it has become associated with balancing the emotions, stress reduction, and peace. When first documented during the late 1700’s, it was called Lilalite for its color. The name is a play on words, combining the French lilas (“lilac”) and the Sanskrit lila (“game, pastime”). Lila has a deeper meaning in Hinduism, the belief the universe is a playful expression of God’s consciousness.

by Chris Matthews

Lepidolite helps us approach life with the same childlike joy. Alternative: Blue Lace Agate. Also used for peace of mind.

5. Quartz for Clarity. Clear to milky white. Clear and cool to the touch, Quartz is traditionally associated with water, as is winter. It is a stone of clarity, used for spiritual sight, balancing the energy body, and transforming heavy energies. Rather than resist this season of darkness, we can use Quartz to harness it like New Moon for purification, releasing the old, and setting intentions for the future. Alternative: Blue Kyanite (pronounced “kigh-uh-night”). Also used for clearing.

Working with stones is a spiritual support for other forms of healing. This information is not intended to replace the care of your doctor or mental health professional.

Astrology by Mary

23 in your sign signals a very exciting go-ahead period, especially for early Aquarians. There are likely to be new skills looming on the horizon, but they also carry with them the obligations to the governing agencies which require a certain amount of paper work. You are also very busy refiguring the financial picture, and some will enlarge the home base.

i Pisces February 18 – March 20

These few months see you becoming more and more eager to make some changes in yourself, your outlook, and your future plans. You feel like the horse at the race track ready to break loose, but the gates haven’t lifted yet. It isn’t just that you want to create a new future – now you HAVE to. Mercury Stationary Direct in mid December will help to energize your decisions, and this is accompanied by a new sense of more independence in the pocket book - whether you have been cut loose by the system or whether you are becoming more independent financially, you are embracing a new sense of self worth. Around Christmas, you could be embarking on a new learning program, but it will require a strong sense of commitment. There could be lots of traffic in and out of the home, and this could be great fun, but you also need that very necessary quiet time for your own well being. A careful look at your income/ outgo will clear the confusion, and early January brings good news about children.

^ Aries March 20 – April 19

For the whole sign of Aries, Uranus (a slow moving planet) is setting the stage for a great deal of change in the next 6 years. It shows up now for early Aries people, and there appears to be support from friends, and an eager look at the new changes. At the same time, there are planets creating some blockages, (especially for the early Aries), so there will be movement accompanied by a sense of destiny. Change is here, and either self initiated or by events that unfold upon you, you must move. Your ruling planet is aware that much work must be done in order to facilitate the changes, so you will be called to task for a couple of months anyway. Do not feel frustrated because events are taking a long time to unfold. Just keep plugging away (difficult for Aries), as the effort to complete the work will provide a new sense of self worth, as well as put some dollars in your pocket!

_ Taurus April 19 – May 20

The planet of luck and opportunities is in your sign, suggesting that you

f Sagittarius November 22–December 21

There could be lots of plans about travel, but transiting Mercury going retrograde (at Thanksgiving) and then direct mid December suggest changes made in these plans, including the plans of your partner. The solar eclipse at Thanksgiving could have set these plans in motion, but be alert to the fact that changes could come about at the last minute, and some of that may be because of relatives, and/or family members. On the financial front, you are truly beginning to address the income/outgo situation, and it will result in a new sense of security about your worth, on many levels. Early Sagittarians have two separate themes coming up. One is change on the home front (which includes dwelling and/or parents), and the other one is all about new exciting endeavors, and may really reflect in surprising new romance. Some may be being called back to work, and all are working harder than ever before! (You’ll be able to buy those Xmas gifts after all!)

g Capricorn December 21 – January 19

You are more determined than ever to remake yourself, in terms of physical needs, as well as an awareness that you need to set a limit to the amount of effort it takes to keep everything under control. The new moon at Christmas will highlight your change of attitude. Conditions leading up to this change could be beyond your control, but will also assist you in deciding what your choices are. You could be wishing for a respite or just a quickie vacation. If you can work it in, go ahead and indulge yourself. Some planets will be assisting you in the next few months, but the emphasis is sort of a “hands-on” vibration, so whether it is a new career or an old job, it should go very well. In the areas of children, recreation, or romance, etc. there is the new promise of excitement coming in so don’t be afraid to embrace it. You are faced with some changes in the pocket book area, and you have a chance to initiate something you have always wanted to do. The old order is giving way to a new you!

h Aquarius January 19 – February 18

December finds you looking at a new agenda for yourself, and quite likely will be checking and rechecking with friends and family. Take the time to plan well, and then tackle the necessary effort to clean out old patterns, deal with what must be cleaned up and dismissed before you can go on confidently in the first of the year The lunar eclipse on Dec. 10 finds you very excited about these new plans, and then the new moon at Christmas indicates a firm resolve to clear out the old before the new can begin. Early January the full moon relates to obligations either at work or about health (yours or someone close). There are requirements that probably pertain to documents, paper work, etc. The new moon on Jan.

will have opportunities in the areas of career, travel, learning, recreation, etc. that could beof significant benefit to you if you participate. Taurus works very hard, but after a bit, they need to balance the work with rest. These next few months may require a bit more effort than is comfortable, but will be well worth the experience. Many Taurus individuals are finding that they need to check in with the doctor, especially if the issue is of a long standing nature. Do what is required, but don’t fret, because the results appear to be positive. (Remember : Jupiter is your guardian angel.) Lots of money being tossed around these days, coming and going, and the holiday period will naturally register this. If you have children, some of them will be quite busy and productive, so you can take credit for the time spent in encouraging them to do their best. Some unexpected surprises may have thrown you off course for a little while..

` Gemini May 20 – June 21

Your ruling planet, Mercury, goes retrograde at Thanksgiving and goes forward mid December. This accentuates your solar house of partnerships and there could be discussions about travels, studies or future plans in this period. The full moon early December will shed more light on this. For very early Gemini, your position in life (i.e. a career, or as a parent or because of a parent) could be in question, and some of it may seem to be beyond your control. The possibilities that may show up include changes in the job situation or even family, parent matters. Later Gemini people could feel comfortable with matters that pertain to children, or even possibly the return of a romantic figure from the past. You do appear to be spending part of the holiday figure with a review of income/outgo, and it is not too early to be thinking about the upcoming tax period.

a Cancer June 22-July 22

The new moon that fell at Thanksgiving fell in your house of employment, and/or health issues. Then the full moon on Dec. 10th may very likely bring these matters to full view, so be on the lookout for possibility of more travel connected to the employment picture, or perhaps more learning in connection with the job. Of great significance now for early Cancers will be the interaction with significant others, whether that is marriage partner, close friend, or even some government official. Mercury going direct in December will give a clearer picture of who and what this is about. Of great importance to many early Cancers is the possibility of change – either in career, or in regards to parent figures. For some of you there could be the potential for new and increased responsibilities on the job. Good for you! You have the support of a very good friend who has your best interests at heart. In January, there could be a sudden decision to spend big money. Let yourself go!

b Leo July 22 – August 22

This period starts with much emphasis on employment matters, and perhaps health issues. At Christmas there is a new moon suggesting some kind of major overhaul in either of these situations. And you, as royalty, may have to take a hand in seeing that all the loose hands come together, rather than waiting for someone else to do it. In early 2012, a new moon at the end of January may bring surprising new partnerships into the scene, and he/she will have a surprising plan to offer you. This would be right up your alley! There seems also to be a lot of potential growth and opportunities in your career section. The overall picture could get, as they say, “bigger than life size”, but over all

very enticing. Early Leos need to watch for a tendency to take on quite a bit, so be aware of expanding too quick, too fast. The fact that there are possibilities out there will lead you to check and recheck the bank account!

c Virgo August 22 – September 22

Things are popping for Virgo! Your ruling planet, Mercury, will spend December in the sign of travel, in and out of home base. The new moon at Thanksgiving gives a heads-up for this potential, and the full moon in early December seems to put a cap on the whole process. Meanwhile, you may be driving yourself without pause, as the planet Mars, action, is in your sign and Mars can push you relentlessly. Allow yourself time to relax, and just let go of some of the pressures. You will be feeling extra responsibility and your nerves and stomach will show the wear and tear. For some early Virgos, there may be changes coming in terms of financial input/outgo and if you are determined to take advantage of new opportunities showing up, then take the plunge, but remember to pace yourself! Some of you may have children who are “producing”, even possibly in terms of presenting a grand child. You may be aware now that you should benefit more from all your labors. Take time to figure out how!

d Libra September 22 – October 23

Libra, you have had a couple of hard years behind you, and still a bit to go, but now you can see that the finish line is not too far down the tracks. You have done well, and there could be rewards coming such as receiving money, as in sale of property, or increase of salary, etc. Take a bow. I think you can rest somewhat on your laurels. Some travel shows up, starting around Thanksgiving and culminating early December. There has been, and will continue to be, an effort to redesign the home base, and for some of you that may include responsibility toward or as a parent figure. For the next 2 months, there is a great deal of effort to clean up, throw out, repair. Some of it may include a few more trips to the doctor. Early Libras may find unexpected relationships showing up, or a change in the existing significant other. You just may feel that things are getting out of control, and you need more balance in your life.

e Scorpio October 23 – November 21

You’ve had lots of obligations breathing down your back in the last couple of years, but it looks as though you will soon be able to clear the decks and move on with new understandings. The money houses in your solar chart show some increased activity, and Mercury going direct in mid December will bring some decisions and agreements to a head. You have probably been putting in overtime figuring out a lot of details, getting the facts straight, and knowing how much government control will impact you. But soon there will be a clearer picture of where you are headed. Chances are that there is a partner figure of some kind who may show up with some big bucks. (Or may want you to show up with big bucks). A very strong potential for major changes in the employment picture is there for early Scorpios. This will continue on for several years, so be prepared. Scorpio doesn’t like surprises (unless they are the ones doing the surprise), so you will be learning to move quickly across the stepping stones. And as usual, you always come up with a really big prize in hand!
