KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
FAMILY OF THE MONTH Thomas & Amanda Ehrensberger, Jr August 2019 BIRTHDAYS

Bahnsen, Brian Kunk Business Meeting every 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00pm in Dollinger Hall. Family Night meets every 4th Monday of each month at 6:30pm in Dollinger
Hall. ALL PARISHIONERS ARE INVITED. Bring your favorite covered dish.
Note from Pastor: I am very grateful to the Altar Society ladies at both Infant Jesus and St. Mark’s. These ladies work hard volunteering their time and energy to keeping our church buildings beautiful and suitably decorated for the Sacrifice of the Lord. They are always behind the scenes building our community up and supporting our parish initiatives. The ladies them-selves are able to enjoy each other’s company as they share their love for our Catholic faith and community. I am especially grateful to them for overseeing our bereavement committees. They provide a great meal to families after a funeral Mass at Infant Jesus or St. Mark’s. This service is so important in helping grieving families support one another in a most difficult time. Often, funerals are one of the only times that extended families all get together. The meal at the parish after a funeral is a great way in which we fulfill one of the corporal works of mercy: providing for the burial of the dead with love and dignity. I want to encourage anyone in the parish who would like to get involved in this service of compassion to do so. We will add you to the call list when we have a funeral meal, to prepare a dish and, if you are able, to help serve. You can call the parish office or talk to an altar society lady for more information.
Quiz Ques on Answer: D) Faith should lead us to act like Jesus, who served others, sacrificed for others, and helped everyone he could.

Good New—Inspiration for daily life by Bulletin Quotes August 4th A man who governs his passions is master of this world. We must either command them or be enslaved by them. It is better to be a hammer than an anvil. St. Dominic (1170-1221), Priest, Patron of Astronomers, Feast Day August 8th
Marian Prayer Program The 2018-2019 Marian Prayer Program
presents the 18th Marian image sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. This year, the
prayer service is intended to raise awareness of the plight of Christians persecuted for their
faith and to stand in prayerful solidarity with them. A Rosary will be prayed before each Mass on the weekend of August 10th and
11th. The ICON will be in the Church from August 3rd thru August 11th.
