What is written on the Guide for Proposers

• (1) Describe the manner in which the proposed project’s goals address the scientific, technical, socio-economic and policy objectives of the NMP Priority in the areas covered by the call.

• (2) The long-term innovation and new knowledge expected should be identified.

• Each of this sentence has to be developed in a paragraph.

9

The first sentence“Describe the manner in which the proposed project’s goals address the scientific, technical, socio-economic and policy objectives of the NMP Priority in the areas

covered by the call”

• Read carefully the overall Work Programme

• Choose the most suitable research topic/s and crosscheck with partners (if you fail the activity codes you indicate in the Form A1, your proposal is out!!!)

• Write a short introduction about the sectors involved and how technologies and objectives of your project related to the NMP priority

• Differentiate the “scientific and technical objectives” from the “socio-economic and policy objectives”

Page 10: INDUSTRYLINK Workshop Poznan, 23 May 2005 Ingrid Ciabatti TECNOTESSILE Perfect development of “Relevance to the objectives of the NMP priority” and “Potential

10

Address to the scientific and technical objectives (1)

• Indicate at least 2 research topics from the Work Programme

• Report extracts from the Work Programme (in italics) when writing your paragraph

– 2 possible approaches:

• (1) Include the extracts from the Work Programme in a longer phrase written by you about your proposal

• (2) Write the paragraph in form of a table

11

Address to the scientific and technical objectives (2)

• Show significant breakthrough in terms of processes and technologies

• To be written by technical staff and checked by marketing staff

12

Address to the socio-economic and policy objectives

• Read the first chapters of the Work Programme:– 3.1 General introduction– 3.2 NMP priority introduction– 3.3 Objectives, structure and overall approachand select parts that fit to your proposal

• Report extracts from the Work Programme (in italics) when writing your paragraph– (1) Long phrases including the extracts– (2) Table

• To be written by marketing staff and checked by technical staff

13

The second sentence“The long-term innovation and new knowledge expected should be identified”

• Write how the knowledge you will generate may lead to the generation of other knowledge (in the research field or industrial field)

• Write possible future applications of your processes and technologies in sectors different from the one/s involved in the proposal that will be based on the knowledge you will generate

• Write about importance (statistics) and problems of the future sectors of applications and how they will benefit from the technology transfer

• Get suggestions from partners

16

The first sentence“Describe the strategic impact of the proposed project, in reinforcing

competitiveness, economic growth and sustainability”.

• Write about the problems of the sector/s (national and European level) involved in the proposal in terms of:

– Competitiveness

– Economic growth

– Sustainability

• Ask the industrial partners

• Write statistical data (Eurostat, national bodies…) for quantification of the problems
