Foreword

In response to letter no. 1/7/DIP/2015/MSME-DI dated 20/05/2016 of O/o DC

(MSME), M/o MSME, Govt. of India. The District Industrial Profile of

Neemuch for the year 2015-16 has been updated upto 31/03/2016 by this

office. This profile contained Geography, Topography, Mineral availability,

forest resources, District general information, Industrial scenario &

potentiality of MSME of the district.

Neemuch has been declared as a separate district by MP Govt as on 30th

June 1998. Earlier it was a part of the Mandsaur district. Three tehsils of

undivided Mandsaur district fall under this new district namely Neemuch,

Jawad and Manasa. After divided tow newly Created tehsil namely Singoli

,Rampura and Jeeran. During British rule an army cantonment was

established here. After independence, this cantonment has been converted

into cantonments of paramilitary forces by the Govt. of India

While preparing the profile, the data was collected from various departments

of Madhya Pradesh Government and from internet. I take this opportunity to

appreciate the efforts of Shri K.R.Alawa, Asstt. Director (PI), Shri B.Gahan,

Asstt. Director (EI) in bringing out this industrial profile of Neemuch for the

year 2015-16.

Brief Industrial Profile of NEEMUCH District

1. General Characteristics of the District District Neemuch is Situated in the north west border of Madhya Pradesh and South-east of Rajastan. Broad gauge railway & road route are available to reach Neemuch District

1.1 Location & Geographical Area. Neemuch has been declared as a separate district by MP Govt as on 30th June 1998. Earlier it was a part of the Mandsaur district. Three tehsils of undivided Mandsaur district fall under this new district namely Neemuch, Jawad and Manasa. After divided tow newly Created tehsil namely Singoli ,Rampura and Jeeran. 1.2 Topography It lies between the parallels of latitude 24˚ .15 - 24˚.35 North, and between the meridians of longitude 74˚ 45 - 75˚ 37 East.

1.4 Forest Neemuch district has total forest area of 94487 Hectare

1.5 Administrative set up. This district is situated in Ujjain division. This district have 06 Tehsils, 03 Sub Divisions(Neemuch, Jawad,Manasa).Neemuch district consists of 6 Tehsils, Neemuch, Jawad,Manasa,Jiran,Singoli and Rampura. Number of Blocks in the district is 3. There are total 239 Panchayats and 674 Revenue villages in these 3 blocks (Neemuch, Jawad,Manasa)
