TRADITION. TECHNOLOGY. INNOVATION.
IEM began business in a barn on a family ranch in Fremont, CA. IEM grew along with Silicon Valley, moving to a 12,000 sq ft facility in 1957, expanding to 70,000 sq ft in 1980 and to 105,000 sq ft in 2003 with offices on the East Coast and Canada.
IEM recently acquired Industrial Power Systems, Inc. (IPS) in Jacksonville, FL. Together they represent an unparalleled solution to the most challenging projects in the industry today.

TRADITION. TECHNOLOGY. INNOVATION.
IEM has been solving power distribution challenges for HP, Apple, and dozens of prominent companies since they were start-ups.
IEM developed a groundbreaking version of the medium voltage vacuum breaker in the 1980’s, pioneered the use of breakers on 21kV systems, and was the first to design a 3000A free standing breaker for utilities.
