DOMINO SPIEL is a quick puzzle that educates business professionals of BMW’s core brand values. Three aspects of each brand value make up one set. The point is to join the related images on the pieces to complete the set and discuss their relationship.

SATELLITE Standing workstation for laptop use within a shared

office environment

SATELLITE offers a power solution for portable devices through sockets positioned behind an adjustable work surface. When inclined the work surface elevates the laptop display for an improved posture.

OPPORTUNITY

Today’s mobile workers work in shared office spaces where power management solutions are unappealing or require additional systems to setup. SATELLITE standing desks combine an aluminum frame with custom laminate panels to create distinct appearances for contemporary office spaces. SSATELLITE is lightweight and easy to setup. It can be moved to supplement the office as an independent or benched unit. U

HOCUS Brand Identity and Logo

for a Digital Camera

For this project, I was assigned an electronic product and tasked with developing its brand identity. I made a logo, business cards, letterheads, and finally created the products packaging. The target demographic selected was children under 10.

FLUID was designed for young and old car campers who enjoy cooking meals.

TTraditional liquid fuel stoves are difficult to assemble and have awkward manual fuel pumps.

FluidFluid is an integrated solution that offers a far superior pumping system.

Liquid Fuel Stove

The use cycle of a liquid fuel stove was broken down into a scenario that identified a persona and a framework for a new product. The recreational car camper in the scenario is seen struggling with her stove.

The Coleman Stove was the reference product used to address the problems with liquid fuel stoves. Foam models were used to visualize the solution.

USE SCENARIO + TESTING

Fluid provides a prominent pump with an enlarged handle that can be used by individuals with or without gripping limitations. A handle that is easier to hold encourages its use and reduces the physical efforts required to pump the fuel tank. The orientation of the pump was also considered and designed to improved the individual’s performance when in use.

Stool

MIETEK is made solely from corrugated cardboard. This stool is sold in a flat package for simple home assembly without the use of any adhesives or fasteners.

INSTRUCTIONS

A1 FLEX is promotional pen that would be given to potential customers of the Audi A1. Made from silicone and polypropylene components the pen can be worn as a bracelet or hung on a display panel. This was a personal project I did while working at Yellow Design in Cologne.

ILLUMINA is a memorial night-light for parents who have lost a child. The night-light is seen through a display that features an engraved DNA portrait of the child. The strands of hair that were used to create the personalized portrait are also embedded into the display to preserve a part of the child close to home. Parents fall asleep with ILLUMINA as it emits a soft pulsating glow.

FESTIVAL KARSH

FESTIVAL KARSH was an initiative between Library and Archives Canada and the Portrait Gallery of Canada for Ottawa, Summer 2009. This teaser exhibit proposal was conceived for this upcoming exhibition celebrating the famous Canadian photographer Yousuf Karsh. The exhibit was designed for the lobby of the NCC Capital Info Center.

CARREAU PLUS is a sophisticated kettle for breakfast. The unit is stored in a frame where it is concealed as tiles.

TheThere are 3 pieces to the tiled device; the kettle, the power pack and the TV.
