EYEWEARAn original design of eyewear, hand rendered sketches in Photoshop and Rhino models rendered in Keyshot
ALORAUsing zinc die casting manufacturing methods, designa pet product that takes advantage of the benefits of zinc .
Problem:Birdfeeders on the market now are not squirrel-proof and therefore much of the birdseed is lost to other creatures in the landscape. Additionally, plastic birdfeeders age with weather and the sun.

RADIANT Design a product that uses an aluminum extrusionmanufacturing method.
Problem:During winter months, outside daily tasksbecome less enjoyable because of harsh temperatures and freezing winds. A problem with existing bus heat lamps is that they are powered by electricity, therefore they are costly and unreliable.

TOOL WEIGHT >important for the tool to be held at one time -precision > 3 lbs or less is best for one hand operations > 1 lb or less for precision operations
HANDLES > designed for a “power grip” >alignfingerssotheyworkwithheconfigurationtomaximize handcapacity
SHAPE >handleshapeaffectswristandarmpostures >handleshapeshouldcatertothetypeandorientationoftask >handlesshouldnotrequirewristinflexion, extensionorulnardeviation >pistolgripsarepreferredwhenforceisexertedina straight line in the same direction
DIAMETER > handles should be cylindrical or oval, at a diameter of 1/5 inches to be used with a “power grip” > minimum of 1.2 inches with a maximum of 1.8 inches
LENGTH > handles too short can cause unnecessary compression in the middle of the palm > handle should extend entire width of the palm > preferred handle length is 5.5 inches > padded handles will reduce any soft tissue compression
MATERIAL > friction must exist between hand and handle > non-slip, non-conductive and compressible materials preferred textured rubber handles > avoid glossy coated and highly polished handles

ICE CREAM SCOOPS ON THE MARKET
IDEATION
This mock-up was a successful shape with nice curves, but it felt more comfortable in the left hand rather than th e intension of a right-hand dominant user.
Even though this mock-up is comfortable to hold, it has too many undercuts to be manufactured.
MOCK-UPS
With this completely new de-sign, this mock-up was overall proportional but too small for an average hand.
This final version achieved the accurate shape that I was going for, and obtained the correct proportions. This was my final pick for my scoop mold.

I chose this mock-up to move on to the final. However, this mock-up was too
small for the average hand and there-fore I scaled it up for the final.
