This popularity of navigational devices is becoming ever more desirable with consumers. This GPS device allows users never to get lost with the vast eray of maps it contains. The product is designed to be handheld and is ideal for walkers and explorers, as embodied with the product is a library of popular walking and hiking paths

in the UK.

A HANDHELD GPS PRODUCT FOR HIKERS

The injection moulded tool was manufactured using severalmanufacturing techniques and thorough quality control proceduresthroughout the process.

CAM was the main process used for making the mould tool. The procedures were all tested using blue foam before the aluminiumblocks were machined.

An engraving tool was used to make The small cavity for the brand name across the front of theproduct.

The end with the spoke only consists of 2 unique parts. The top and bottom part of it are the same in order to make the manufacturing process simpler.

Inserts are used to create eachend of the widget.

3 individual inserts are used to create the ribs on the undersideof the lever. Each one creates a different shape relevant to the detail at each end of the widget.

The inserts were all machines from solid pieces before they were finished off by hand using tech-niques such as: milling, turning,surface grinding, drilling and filling. These processes ensured that all parts fit together resulting ina higher quality widget.

NOTHING WILL SLOW US DOWNThis Nukeproof tyre lever was a group project whereby we had to create a promotional widget by the injection moulding process. It wasalso compulsory to make a promotional display for the product. The widget itself consists of 3 main features, the hook, lever, and ribs. The ribs on the underside adds strength to the widget as they will reduce flex and make the tool more functional and durable. They also reduce the amount of material used, thus making the productThey also reduce the amount of material used, thus making the productcheaper to manufacture.

Insert the leverunderneath the wire of the tyre.

Push down on the lever until the tyre slips over the rim.

The Lever end allows the widget to hook underthe tyre so that it can be levered onto the outsideof the rim to allow a tyre to be changed or a puncture to be repaired.

Hook theend around a spoke to stop thetyre slipping backinside the rim, then useanother lever to removethe tyre by running it the tyre by running it around the rim.

The Hook end allows the user to keep the tyre on the out-side of the rim by hooking around a spoke in the wheel. This gives the user both hands free to insert a second lever and removed the tyre all the way around the rim.

5These images are relevant to my design and have influenced me in developing form. It helps to keep a visual libary when working as it can stimulate direction. I have highlighted the shapes that Ithink will help me most .

This project required me to create a aethetically pleasing sleek audio system. These thumbnail sketches are initalideas that have helped develop my final design.

9The Oakley Serpentine is for the modern day snowsport enthusiast. Its light and robust design make it perfect to carry on the slopes. The products ultra compact 2 litre storage is good forcooking hydrated meals, melting snow and storing liquids; this is done by the exothermic heating system.

EASY CLEAN

I focused on improving the experience of hand washing surfaces for users. Making it faster, more efficient and at Reckitt Benckisers request more sustainable.

The Easy Clean decreases cleaning time, increasesthe efficiency of cleaning through ergonomic improvements, and hands stay dry during the process. When the two buttons are pressed, Dettol cleaning liquid is dispensed buttons are pressed, Dettol cleaning liquid is dispensed out of the replaceable blue sponge.
