The total time for the basic snow coverage and the design of the indoor ski slope depends on different factors.

Ski slope surface combined with first thickness of snow in a given time will give the number of required snow machines.(produced before opening during 15 to 20h a day)

The required daily fresh snow will have also to be taken into account. (produced during closing hours)

1. How sizing the snow production?

Page 4: IndoorSn ow. Indoor snow technology The total time for the basic snow coverage and the design of the indoor ski slope depends on different factors. Ski

The installation of a ground cooling is important for a proper preparation and the quality of the snow produced.

Without an efficient ground cooling the snow melts and a consistent snow quality is not possible – Risk to have the snow from the top moving down to the bottom of the trail

Larger amounts of fresh produced snow are necessary without ground cooling, as there are more losses of snow by melting

Without ground cooling the quality of the snow produced will be affected negatively

A central snow production means that one or more snow producers are positioned at a central point in the ski dome

+ Less installation works

- No snow distribution on the total area of the ski slope

- Higher work for the slope grooming

For decentralized snow production the snow producers are arranged within the total ski dome area

+ Better snow distribution about the total area of the ski slope

+ Less work for the slope grooming

- Higher installation works

3. Centralized or decentralized positioning of the snow-producers

Snow producer for Ski-Domes and Indoor Snow Theme parks with following characteristics:

Adjustable snow quality

Snow quality adjustable from 100 kg / m³ (powder snow) up to more than 300 kg/m³ (wetter snow)

Snow production independent of room temperature and relative air humidity

Snow production and operation ski-dome at temperatures around -2°C = low energy consumption

Snow production independent of room height

High installation for snow production is not necessary

Installation on towers is possible
