About the Program

A 13-day study tour from Jakarta to Bali, Indonesia from the ground up! offers a unique balance of academic and hands-on experiences. Participants see the workplaces of their Indonesian counterparts, and look beyond the negative stereotypes of Indonesia often portrayed in the Australian media. The study tour will inspire participants to become ‘Asia-Advocates’ in their school communities or workplace.

Dates and Costs

The tours will run every January and July. The cost is $3,450 per participant. This price includes accommodation (single room), site entry, some meals, and all in-country transport costs.

Tour Components

» World famous temples;

» A village stay experience;

» NGOs, women’s groups;

» A performance of the Ramayana Ballet;

» Practical arts workshops;

» School visits and field trips;

» Climb a volcano;

» Community-led kampung walking tour.

Who Can Apply?

The tour is designed for principals, senior education administrators, and teachers of history, geography, economics, business, politics, environment, and media studies. The tour caters for participants with little or no Indonesian language skills.

(pronounced “ah-chee-chis” as an Indonesian would) has been opening doors

to tertiary institutions throughout Indonesia since 1994, offering a range of

study options and in-country support to help students gain invaluable first-hand

experience of one of the richest and most diverse countries in the world.
