For the revival of traditional medical practices as described in “Physicians of Myddfai” with the help of Ayurveda.

Myddfai Herbal Project
Tried to revive the system with the support from EU and limited funding
Got to stop when they introduced only 25 species of herbs which were also not native to Wales.
Sufficient interest could not be generated among people at large
Did not focus on the legendary tradition nor the mythological background
New Venture with Indian Support
Ayurveda and the Red Book have many similarities – in medicines, daily regimens and basic philosophy
Dravyaguna Vijnaneeyam (the knowledge of Herbarium) could be implemented in the herbs mentioned in the Red Book
Adaptation of Ayurvedic medicines with locally available raw materials (Herbs) from Wales / UK / EU
Project Attractions
UK import of herbs and herbal products are estimated at GBP 275 million per annum
A heavy pressure on tropical regions for the supply of herbs which is otherwise to be used by local people of those nations.
