WHAT IS INDIE MUSIC

Independent music is music produced independently. Often shortened to indie music or indie, the music is independently made by major commercial record labels. This process is very do-it-yourself, the approach to recording and publishing is all done single handedly.Indie music magazines mostly include a big main photo, but mostly in dark colours reflecting the dark colors used in the indie fashion. There is more commonly than not a big title that Is partly covered by the image. The bands names are mainly in bright and vibrant colours to attract attention to the band itself.

INDIE CLOTHING IN MAGAZINES

The clothing that people that follow the indie music trend sometimes differs from what other people that do not follow indie music as closely. Indie clothing can be see as ’old fashioned’, people wear clothes that were somewhat popular before the year 2000.

In the magazines we see the clothing that people are wearing are mostly dark colours, a lot of denim also. From the fly magazine we can see the vaccines are wearing very dark colours. This creates a dark appearance showing there indie nature and band appearance. Most magazines I have seen show the bands in older clothes that may not be seen as fashionable in todays trends.

AGE’S

Most indie bands started way before the 2000’s. The men and woman that were part of them would have been late teens mid twenty's, but most are still going strong 30-40 years later. Now most the indie icon bands are getting older.What I have seen in magazines is the older the bands and the people in them the magazines seem to be darker and more old style indie, but magazines showing newer age younger bands use brighter colours to attract there younger audience.
