Ganges River
• The Ganges is important for irrigation and electricity.
•The Ganges is polluted because the Indian population uses it as a bathroom.
•Many diseases such as cholera are transmitted via the Ganges.
• Religious significance- In Hinduism its considered some what of a pilgrimage to take a dip in the Ganges and this leads to more disease and death.

Ganges Delta• The Ganges Delta is the largest Delta in the world.
• The main channel from the Ganges River and the Brahmaputra River flow into the delta.
• The Delta is located in Bangladesh and India.
• Between 125 and 143 million people live on the Delta.
• The Delta contains some of the most fertile land in Asia.
• Flooding is a major problem due to monsoons and the rivers.
